"Kelvin," Noah interrupted, "I need to tell you what happened with Sophie and Lila. Things are getting more complicated."

Kelvin looked up from his examination, imdiately serious. "I'm listening."

Noah opened his mouth to explain, but before he could speak, a new notification flashed across his vision. Unlike the familiar blue of his system, this one was red and urgent:

[UPDATE ON STORM]

[Evolution Progress: 92% Complete]

[Estimated Ti to Completion: 48 Hours]

[WARNING: Environntal Conditions Critical - Maintain Isolation]

Noah's heart raced. "I need to check sothing," he said abruptly. "Give a few minutes."

Concern flashed across Kelvin's face. "System stuff?"

Noah nodded. "Storm's evolution. I need to see for myself."

"Go," Kelvin said imdiately, understanding in his eyes. "I'll be here."

Noah stepped back into an empty corner of the room, closed his eyes, and whispered, "Domain."

Dark purple energy swirled around him, enveloping his body completely. The familiar sensation of weightlessness overtook him as reality bent and shifted. When the energy dissipated, he stood in an expansive grassland stretching toward distant mountains, the sky above a perpetual twilight. Nearly fifty ters away stood the wooden shed he'd created, and beyond that, two distinct dens carved into a hillside—one massive, one considerably smaller.

Without hesitation, Noah strode toward the larger den, already feeling the temperature dropping as he approached. By the ti he reached the entrance, his breath ca out in visible clouds. He steeled himself and stepped inside.

The temperature plumted to what must have been -20 degrees Celsius or lower. The cave's interior stretched back nearly thirty ters, its ceiling soaring to seven ters at its highest point. The walls glistened with a layer of frost, and at the center lay an enormous red dragon—Nyx, the Red Death.

The dragon's crimson scales glead in the dim light, his massive body curled protectively around what commanded Noah's full attention: an ice cocoon of staggering proportions. What had once been the size of a large dog was now a crystalline structure asuring at least four ters in length and two ters in height, with intricate patterns of frozen energy swirling within.

Nyx's head lifted as Noah entered, golden eyes fixing on him with newfound recognition rather than the previous suspicion. The dragon exhaled, a warm gust that montarily relieved the biting cold.

"How is Storm doing?" Noah asked, approaching carefully.

Nyx rumbled low in his throat, a sound that Noah had learned indicated satisfaction rather than threat. The dragon shifted slightly, revealing more of the cocoon.

Noah studied the massive ice structure with wonder and apprehension. "Ninety-two percent complete," he murmured, recalling the notification. "Two days left."

He reached into his void storage, extracting a level 3 beast core—a glowing crystalline object the size of his fist. Nyx's eyes tracked the movent with imdiate interest.

"You've been a good guardian," Noah said, approaching the dragon and extending his hand with the core. "You deserve this."

Nyx's massive head moved forward with surprising gentleness, tongue flicking out to take the core. The beast core disappeared in a single swallow, and the dragon's eyes closed montarily in apparent satisfaction.

Noah checked his void storage inventory:

[Item: Level 3 Beast Core]

[Quantity: 3 Remaining]

He'd need to find more soon; Nyx and Storm would be hungry after the evolution completed, especially if Storm's size increase was as significant as the cocoon suggested.

He moved closer to the ice structure, marveling at how the frost patterns seed to form images—wings, claws, and what appeared to be lightning bolts, he wasn't so sure.

However, unlike when the evolution began, Nyx was no longer breathing fire onto the cocoon to maintain temperature. Apparently, the process had reached a self-sustaining stage.

"I still can't believe you've been acting like a mother hen," Noah said with a smile, glancing at the enormous predator. "The fierce Red Death, playing nursemaid."

Nyx huffed, a small jet of fla escaping his nostrils in what Noah interpreted as indignation.

Noah laughed, then sobered as he studied the cocoon again. When he'd first bonded with Storm, the Azure Storm Wyvern had been barely larger than a house cat—all wings and attitude. Now, whatever was erging would be a formidable creature indeed.

"Whatever you beco," Noah whispered to the cocoon, "I hope you know you're not a weapon to . Neither of you are."

He placed a hand on the ice, pulling back imdiately at the intense cold. But for that brief mont, he'd felt sothing—a resonance, a connection to the consciousness evolving within.

Noah turned to Nyx. "I need to go back. Kelvin's waiting, and there's a lot happening. You'll alert if anything changes?"

The dragon blinked slowly in acknowledgnt.

"Thank you," Noah said, and ant it. Despite their rough beginning, he'd developed a genuine bond with the massive creature. Both Nyx and Storm were far more than re assets to his power—they were companions, beings with their own wills and personalities that had chosen to align with him.

He took one last look at the cocoon, wondering what Storm would beco in two days' ti, then made his way out of the den. The relative warmth of the grassland was a welco relief after the frigid interior.

With a thought, Noah closed his eyes and returned.

The purple energy enveloped him once more, and seconds later he stood back in the arena room. Kelvin was sitting on his bed, an expectant look on his face.

"Well?" Kelvin asked imdiately. "How's our scaly friend doing?"

Noah couldn't help but smile at his friend's enthusiasm. "Storm's cocoon is massive now. At least four ters long. System says evolution is at 92% and completes in exactly 48 hours."

Kelvin's eyes widened. "Four ters? You said Storm was the size of a puppy before! We're talking almost full-grown wyvern territory now."

"Looks that way," Noah confird. "Nyx isn't even breathing fire on the cocoon anymore. The evolution is self-sustaining."

"This is incredible," Kelvin said, practically bouncing with excitent. "When Storm erges, I call dibs on first ride!"

Noah laughed. "First ride? I haven't even ridden either of them yet."

"Exactly why I'm calling dibs," Kelvin replied with a grin. "Think about it—Storm with whatever abilities, with my tech. We'd be unstoppable."

Noah shook his head, amused by his friend's enthusiasm but grateful for it. Where others might have feared his abilities or sought to use them, Kelvin had always responded with genuine wonder and support.

"Maybe soday we can take them both out sowhere remote," Noah mused. "Sowhere that won't cause a citywide evacuation when people spot a dragon and a wyvern flying overhead."

"Just a casual day at the park with our apocalypse-level companions," Kelvin joked, then grew more serious. "But first, we need to deal with whatever's happening with Sophie and Lila. You were about to tell sothing before your system notification."

Noah nodded, his mood sobering as well. "Right. We have a lot to discuss." He settled onto his bed, preparing to explain the complicated web of secrets, half-truths, and revelations that surrounded the two won and the approaching finals.

Yet even as he began recounting the events, part of his mind remained fixed on that ice cocoon and what would erge in 48 hours—another piece in an increasingly complex puzzle that he knew would soon change everything.
