Noah settled cross-legged atop the stadium do, ignoring Storm's impatient wing-fluttering and Nyx's low growl of concern. Three minutes remained before detonation. Not much ti to save a city sector, but perhaps enough for soone who could think at his level of processing speed.

'Alright, let's establish what we know,' Noah thought, eyes closed as he ntally cataloged the facts. 'Thermobaric device with beast core crystal power source. Quantum-entangled detonators with redundant triggers. Tampering causes imdiate detonation. Blast radius approximately 4.7 kiloters.'

He visualized the bomb's structure, recalling Kelvin's frustrated descriptions. The quantum-entangled detonators were particularly problematic—they weren't just connected; they existed in a state of superposition. Attempt to disable one, and all would trigger simultaneously through quantum collapse.

'Option one: destroy the trigger system before detonation.'

Noah imdiately rejected this approach. 'The quantum entanglent ans there's no "before" state I can exploit. Any interference collapses the wave function and triggers detonation. Laws of quantum observation are clear on this.'

'Option two: containnt or diversion.'

This had more promise. 'The bomb releases energy in accordance with mass-energy yield law.Even a sliver of the bomb's core, once destabilized, transforms into a shockwave of energy—because matter, under extre conditions, ceases to be solid and becos force. If I can create a void barrier to contain the initial blast wave...'

He calculated the energy output, factoring in the beast core amplification. 'No, even at full power, my barriers would shatter under that level of force. The conversion of matter to energy would produce approximately 8.4×10¹⁵ (quadrillion) joules—roughly equivalent to two gatons of TNT.'

Storm huffed impatiently, frost gathering around his scales.

'Wait, Storm's abilities...' Noah recalculated. 'What if I create a nested system? Thermal energy dissipates according to the laws of thermodynamics. Storm's Arctic Shroud could create an extre temperature differential...'

He visualized the nested barrier concept: his void barriers containing the initial pressure wave while Storm's ice abilities absorbed thermal energy. The physics seed sound until he reached a critical limitation.

'No, the thermal absorption capacity is insufficient. Even with Storm at full power, we'd only reduce the blast by approximately 23.7%. Not enough.'

Noah's eyes snapped open as he considered Option three.

'Evacuation of the bomb itself.' This was initially promising—using Domain Travel to relocate the bomb elsewhere. 'But where? The void dinsion is connected to my companions and the evacuees before we even ntion . I don't know what effects it would have on the boys or myself. If the bomb detonates there, the dinsional backlash could be catastrophic.'

He frowned, frustration mounting. 'And teleporting it elsewhere on Earth rely shifts the problem. I'd even need a link with soone far off at a given location to do it to begin with. There's no ti for that and I won't sacrifice another population center.'

Nyx growled, releasing a small puff of fla that dissipated in the cool air.

'Nyx's fire abilities...' Noah considered. 'Combustion requires fuel, oxygen, and heat—the fire triangle. A thermobaric weapon works by dispersing fuel before ignition to maximize oxygen consumption. What if we could preemptively consu the oxygen?'

This had promise until Noah rembered a key detail. 'No, the beast cores are like batteries—they bring their own power source. They don't need oxygen like regular fire.'

Two minutes remained.

'Think bigger,' Noah urged himself. 'Conservation of energy states energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transford. If I can't prevent the energy release, I need to transform it.'

A radical solution began taking shape. 'My Null Strike erases matter from existence, but it's failed against concentrated dark chi before. The bomb might have similar protections since the Purge made it and they've found clever ways to use the energy,'

Noah stood abruptly, startling his companions. A realization hit him like a bolt of lightning.

'Wait a minute. What if I don't try to stop the bomb... what if I eat it?'

He began pacing, mind racing through calculations. 'My Void Absorption skill converts absorbed energies into void energy. It's normally for small attacks, but what if I scaled it up?'

Noah shook his head almost imdiately. 'No, that's like trying to drink a lake through a straw. I'd burst.'

Storm chirped questioningly, frost patterns forming around his wings.

Noah looked at his companions, a wild idea forming. 'What about all three of us together?'

One minute remained.

"I need you both," Noah said, leaping from the do toward the west wing where the bomb waited. Storm and Nyx followed, the forr leaving an ice trail through the air, the latter trailing red mist like blood in water.

Noah landed outside the bomb room, his heart racing. "Storm, I need a Winter Vortex around the bomb—think of it like putting the explosion on ice before it can spread. Nyx, prepare your Volcanic Roar but don't fire until I say."

Noah entered the room where the bomb sat, its countdown display showing thirty seconds. The device was smaller than he'd expected—roughly the size of a backpack, but with an ominous pulsing glow from the beast cores within.

Twenty seconds.

Storm's Winter Vortex filled the room with swirling patterns of supercooled air and electrical currents, creating a frozen tornado around Noah and the bomb.

'If you can't defuse a bomb and you can't contain the explosion... you change what kind of explosion it is,' Noah thought, positioning himself directly in front of the device.

Ten seconds.

"Nyx, get ready," Noah called, focusing his power. His hand began to glow with void energy as he prepared his Null Strike ability—his most powerful erasure technique.

Five seconds.

"Storm, maximum cold! Freeze everything!"

The temperature in the room plumted instantly to near absolute zero. The air itself began to crystallize, forming intricate frost patterns that encased the bomb.

Three seconds.

Noah raised his hand, void energy condensing around his palm. This was no precision strike—he was channeling everything he had into one devastating attack.

One second.

"NOW!"

As the bomb's tir hit zero, three things happened simultaneously:

Noah unleashed Null Strike directly at the bomb's core, the erasure effect targeting the beast cores themselves.

Storm's Winter Vortex collapsed inward, flash-freezing the device in a cocoon of absolute zero temperature, slowing the chemical reactions to a near standstill.

Nyx released his Volcanic Roar, not at the bomb, but at Noah's Null Strike—supercharging the void energy with draconic fire in a desperate gambit.

The bomb detonated.

But instead of an expanding fireball, the explosion seed to implode—sucked inward like water down a drain. Noah's Null Strike, amplified by Nyx's fire, had created a void singularity at the exact mont of detonation. Like a black hole devouring light, the singularity hungrily consud the explosive force.

Storm's Winter Vortex had slowed the explosion just enough—like putting molasses in a car engine—giving Noah's enhanced Null Strike the crucial microseconds needed to take effect.

The resulting backlash hit Noah like a truck. Blood trickled from his nose and ears as void energy surged through his system. His energy levels spiked dangerously:

[Void Energy: 2200/2200 → OVERFLOW → 3500/2200]

"Hold it together," Noah gasped, his entire body trembling as he struggled to contain the overflow of power. It felt like trying to redirect a river through a garden hose.

For a mont that stretched into eternity, the fate of the Eastern Cardinal hung in perfect balance.

Then, with a sound like the universe hiccupping, the singularity collapsed. Where the bomb had been, only a fist-sized sphere of compressed matter remained—like a black pearl, heavy with the weight of what it contained.

Noah collapsed to his knees, gasping for breath. Storm and Nyx moved protectively beside him, both creatures exhausted but watchful.

"We did it," Noah managed with a pained smile. "Like using a vacuum cleaner on a tornado... sohow it worked."

He reached down, carefully picking up the dense sphere—all that remained of a bomb that would have devastated a city sector. The sphere felt warm in his palm—not the warmth of explosive energy, but the comforting weight of a disaster averted.

"Not bad for a day's work, huh?" Noah grinned weakly at his companions. "You two doubted my brilliant plan, didn't you? Co on, admit it."

Storm huffed indignantly, frost crystallizing around his snout in patterns that sohow looked suspiciously like an eye-roll.

Nyx growled low, the sound reverberating through the room as his amber eyes narrowed accusingly at Noah.

"Okay, okay," Noah laughed, holding up his hands. "Maybe it wasn't the most... conventional approach. But hey, it worked! That's what matters, right?"

Neither creature seed particularly convinced.

"Let's just agree that Sophie doesn't need to hear about this particular adventure," Noah added quickly. "You know how she gets about 'unnecessary risks' and 'reckless endangernt' and all that."

Nyx's tail suddenly whipped around, catching Noah squarely in the chest and sending him tumbling across the floor until he crashed into the far wall.

"Oof!" Noah groaned, slowly pulling himself to his feet. "Yeah, I deserved that."

He dusted himself off, wincing slightly. "Fine. I'm sorry for the improvised plan that nearly got us all atomized. Next ti I'll co up with sothing slightly less likely to tear a hole in reality."

Storm chirped in what sounded suspiciously like laughter as Nyx gave a satisfied snort, smoke curling from his nostrils.

"Now, can we please go get the others? It's relatively safe to return as we contained most of the radiation," Noah said, holding the strange, heavy sphere. "Also, you guys are the best, I an it," he said walking out with the two flanking him.
