Almond saw the person nearing after he shouted and soon heard a voice entering his ears.
"Relax, I am not here to fight."
A gust of wind flew past Almond before a figure appeared in front of Almond.
A young man looking in his late teens appeared with shoulder-length green hair and wearing a long, noble-like robe while holding a wooden twig.
Almond saw a na hovering above the person thanks to his wristband as they were all connected to a single system belonging to this academy.
"Hi, I am Malin Rockter."
Malin smiled and stretched his hand for a handshake.
Almond blinked and stretched his hand with a nod, "I am Almond Crowshade."
Malin's smile suddenly turned ruthless as six sharp objects covered with fiery green aura shot at Almond, three from his left and three from his right.
"Please die."
However, the six objects curved past Almond with uncanny precision. The cluster approaching from his left swept in front of him before sharply veering to the right, while the group on his right slipped behind him and then turned left—completely avoiding him as if the path leading to him had been deliberately blocked.
"So killing others is allowed, and I suppose we can take their points, eh?" Almond smiled.
Malin's expression changed, but their hands were joined in a handshake, and Almond gave a surge of lightning directly into Malin's body, paralyzing him as he fell on the ground, twitching.
"H-How…" Malin asked while feeling pain and resisting paralysis, but he couldn't flow Prana into his Arcane Constitution. 'This is impossible! What kind of paralyze is this...'
He saw Almond's eyes glinting and knew he was doing sothing as this wasn't just an effect of paralysis.
"You..."
Almond smiled and nodded, "Yes, YOU are at my rcy right now."
'Wait, we can work together. I can see that you have so powerful set of abilities.'
Almond raised an eyebrow. "But you are weak. Your Arcane Constitution is just 73."
'What, how can you see it?' Malin's eyes widened.
'I can see everything there is to you, and more if I want to, but that would turn this ugly real quick, so don't make do that,' Almond said as he glanced directly into Malin's eyes.
Malin stared at Almond, half-scared and half-hopeful.
'What do I need to do to keep myself alive? Also, let's talk like this because we are being observed, and lip-reading is very easy.'
Almond removed the paralyze and said, "Sit."
Malin sat down nearby, facing the fire before his stomach made a gurgling sound.
"Eat," Almond said.
"Thanks."
'Now, if there's no other way to transfer your points to without killing you, then I'll kill you after I finish eating. I need points because I must reach the top 10 in this event.'
"..." Malin stared at Almond and then took a bite before sighing.
'There is a way to transfer points. If I surrender right now after my clash with you, my points will automatically go to you, and I can also send them to you willingly.'
'Good. Do it now.'
Almond received points, and his rank reached 16th.
"Nice." Almond nodded as he finished a at slab and even ate the crunchy bone before grilling another over the fire.
'Tell , can people revive if they die by so ans?'
Malin blinked as he looked at Almond like he was stupid, but he quickly changed his expression and politely explained.
'Yes, it is possible. Awakened souls can be anchored so they can be recalled before they go into Grimworld Tree's cycle. Not everyone here has the privilege of getting revived as it requires a High-Mortal to revive a Mortal, and so on, as well as a pre-defined anchor prepared by your patron powerhouse who is supposed to revive you.'
Almond was surprised. 'Interesting. You can revive as many tis as possible as long as you have adequate backing and power, eh?'
'But you need to start over in a new body, and new bodies are expensive. Moreover, only one organization can make perfectly new bodies for souls, while those who can't afford to get the new bodies settle puppets that artisans craft and sell.'
'And don't forget that Soul can be destroyed too. If your enemy targets your soul, it's over. But we don't need to worry about that here.'
'Why?' Almond frowned. 'Can't people here target soul as well?'
'Of course not. Mortals don't have the ans to touch the souls of others, nor do we have the attack thods to hurt other souls.'
'I see...' Almond's eyes glinted. 'I can see your soul, but I can't attack it, eh?'

'What? You can see it?' Malin yelped.
Almond fell into thought and didn't respond as he knew what he was able to do wasn't sothing other Mortals could do.
'My All-Seeing Eyes works on people more powerful than , as long as their will is lower than mine. This guy's body, soul, and ntal stats are around 100, but his Arcane Constitution is lower...'
Almond looked at Malin and asked, 'Can you tell about the strongest people in this survival event? I want to know their stats, just rough estimates.'
'There are a few newbie monsters in this year's batch. A few of them have Arcane Constitution above 150, and the top ones are closing in towards 200, I heard. As for their other stats, they are above 100 obviously.'
Almond blinked. 'That doesn't sound bad...'
'But you are crazy. You wield space powers.' Malin looked at Almond. 'And so other mysterious powers that I can't figure out. I'm sure that there is sothing other than paralysis that prevented from using my Prana.'
'Yeah, and I am not going to tell you about it,' Almond said before finishing the last at slab and leaning back after putting his palms on the ground behind him.
*Burp*
All-Seeing Eyes and All-Severing Blade had long beco his natural powers, working based on his will when he broke through his will barrier and entered the Arcane Champion leaderboard. These two powers were much like innate talents but belonged to his will instead as they didn't consu Prana but his will and ntal stamina.
"What now?" Malin asked as he looked at Almond, hesitant. "Can I go now?"
"Nope, you are going to beco my helper along with my summon," Almond grinned as suddenly, an ominous green, red, blue, and gold aura of clouds burst above Almond, scaring Malin as he jumped back.
"What the fuck?"
