24 hours have passed by since the Academy's Newbie Survival Event began.
The large stadium had everything for the audience, from eating to sleeping to shitting.
Everyone was hyped for day 2 of the event as monsters beca a bit stronger, and more special monsters were added.
Almond was in many people's attention because of his feats and staying in the top 15 out of thousands of participants.
Still, roughly five hundred people were eliminated on the first day. Half of them were eliminated by surrendering, and the other half died. Continue reading stories on My Virtual Library Empire
Whether those who died had the backing of a stronger powerhouse and had their anchored or not, only they knew.
…
Almond looked at the dead Four-Ard Fiery Ape and had his hand pointed at it.
'Co on!'
A strange aura oozed out and appeared as if pulled by Almond's hand, but in the end, that aura scattered away.
'The soul left…I only have 30 seconds before I lose the chance.'
"Boss, I found the special monster. It just spawned on that ground."
Almond and Malin were at the edge of the snowy area, with the beginning of barren land bordering this area on this side.
Since they descended from a mountain range, the barren-hot and sand-ish area was at low ground with barren hills, mountains, and valleys in their view.
But there was sothing else visible, and it was an oasis. The only area with greenery and water.
"Is it in that oasis?" Almond looked at the oasis that was far away. He could only see it vaguely, so he sent Malin to check it out.
Malin had high elental mastery in wind attribute, at Epic rank, and his Bloodline was also geared towards wind, so he could travel fast, fly, and scout with his Windy Sparrows.
This was also the reason he escaped that bird, as he had so solid escaping abilities.
"Yeah, the special monster is there. And it's powerful," Malin said with a somber expression. "We would need a solid strategy to deal with it."
"Then we'll co up with one." Almond narrowed his eyes and locked onto the Oasis. "Let's go. That's our next destination."
"You are going to one-shot it again like you did that bird? If that's the plan, it won't work."
"I'll see what I can do, but one thing is certain, and that is killing that monster." Almond clenched his fist.
On the way to the Oasis, Almond killed a bunch of monsters, and right before the area where the big Oasis began, they encountered a monster horde of over a hundred Crust Plated Bears of Earth and tal attribute.
Almond walked into the territory of the bears, walking one step at a ti as his aura surged.
A gray snake with golden scales, almost digital-like with a neon-color sche manifested. One couldn't see it from just a glance, but the snake was made up of nano blades with the thickness of a strand of hair, which was 100,000 nanoters.
Almond refined this ability to optimize its sharpness to the maximum, and its sole goal was to be able to cut through anything with the principle assets of Severance Blade and Absolute Severing added.
Even Lightning, Sand, and Luir elents' attributes were geared towards assets to increase sharpness and movent speed.
Since he remade the entire ability's sequence and structure, he also changed its na from Golden Edge to Erasure Edge.
Arbitrary Viper: Erasure Edge.
Almond consud 3000 Prana per snake as three snakes floated around him.
The biggest advantage of this system was that previously, he could only use those space-related abilities within his Espada Ad Grimveil domain, which allowed for severance and connections of anything within, hence enabling him to create techniques and skills like Absolute Severance and Severance Blade.
But now, each minor power he had was a separate asset that he could use to create a sequence as long as he understood them, and since he understood the entirety of his class, he wasn't bound by previous restrictions.
'Go.'
Almond's eyes flickered as the three snakes shot forward, leaving a faint golden trail in the air.
Just briefly opening his domain would consu rely 10 Prana, so Almond did that briefly and enveloped a group of eight bears within a misty particle gas made of Luir.
The three Arbitrary Vipers shot at them, and the bears were strong enough to react, but with Luir's particle gas, their movent beca eccentric and fast. Much like how light bends through refractions, the Luir Particle Gas acted as a refraction point for the snakes.
During that point, the snakes would actually achieve their maximum speed, which was terrifyingly one-third of light speed, which was 100,000 kiloters per second.
And in that one second, the snakes moved blindingly, cutting all eight bears into pieces.
Almond was always refining his abilities with improved assets that his Arbiterary Viper: Erasure Edge reached S rank in Ability Power.
It started at C , reached A, and now it was at S .
Almond opened his domain briefly again and spread Luir Particle Gas around the remaining bears before redirecting his Artbitary Snakes at them.
anwhile, he walked in front of the pile of dead bears and pointed his hand at them.
Closing his eyes, Almond recalled the power he felt and the concept he ford behind it.
If he was right, he would succeed in creating the Spirit of that bear.
He had thirty seconds only as the soul would leave afterward and that would leave the process of creating Spirit unfinished.
'Spirit is the product of a being's life experience. I have to extract it as a whole, from its body, its soul, its blood, its flesh. Everything it knew it experienced and more.'
The strange whiteish aura was getting pulled into Almond's palm again, albeit unstably.
'Co on! There's no other way aside from that. This is the full concept of Spirits!'
*Snap*
The connection broke, and Almond failed.
'I am missing sothing, and I know what it is, but do I really need to figure that out just to get Spirits?' Almond frowned.
'Alright, let's think again. The spirits may have mories, but how co other skills of my class replicate their powers in the forms of Item and Spirit Wraiths?'
'My Spirit Wraiths have a variety of attributes and powers, and the new one has an even higher level of masteries.... my class doesn't have all attributes, but it still makes them from spirits.'
'Which ans... the spirit must not just contain mories and experience, but sothing that can allow for my class skills to reproduce their power...' Almond rubbed his temples.
