The Phantoms were annoying.
They would appear out of nowhere and ambush.
Even when fighting one, they had to be careful and detect another Phantom suddenly joining the combat with an ambush.
And as each hour passed by, the Phantoms beca stronger.
The good thing was that killing a Phantom would restore 30% of their energies, including stamina, so they could continue to fight the Phantoms every few minutes.
After ten hours had passed, things changed a bit.
Random attacks began targeting them. No presence, just a random projectile at Hyper Speed 2 and 3 to injure them, depending on the individuals. The stronger the individuals, the more powerful these random attacks.
As long as one was aware with their senses alert, it was easy to sense.
Fortunately, two hours later, the break ti arrived.
Everyone entered a pocket dinsion with a flat, grassy plain and so trees with a fresh and cool breeze under the sun.
The break would last for five hours, and nobody wanted to do anything else other than rest so they could perform better and continue to survive.
The only one that didn't rest was Almond. He just sat cross-legged and drowned in his thoughts as sands and lights began dancing around in streams of wind.
In his free ti, Almond was training in his other elents. They had reached Transcendent-rank only since he didn't focus on them too much.
However, now that he was an Immortal Emperor, he would also need to make his Exotic Elent.
He already had two elents decided out of three—1. Golden Haze Lightning (Paragon-rank) and 2. Space of Oscillation Echo (Ascent-rank).
He needed one more elent in the fray and combined the three to make his Exotic Elent.
His options:
- Luir ( Wind x Light )
- Sand of Vibrant Waves.
Out of these two, his choice was pretty clear—Sand of Vibrant Waves.
Almond took out a white stone slab and wrote sothing on it after infusing a bit of Prana to activate it. This was the 12th-hour survival reward.
He had two goals to complete as soon as possible.
Make his Golden Haze Lightning and Sand of Vibrant Waves reach Ascent rank.
Surviving for 12 hours had given 12 rewards to everyone.
In the first 11 hours, everyone got stat increasing resources.
But after completing the 12th hour, everyone got this white stone slab.
It was a Top-Tier Custom Elental Insight Stone (10 hours).
Another good thing about this chaotic dinsion was that everyone could give each other resources as they were not bound to them, so Almond's Spirit Lords were also surviving and gathering resources.
Soon, the five-hour break was over, though only one minute had passed by outside, so the Stream only paused for a minute before Big D's star eyes began following everyone and streaming them.
However, Almond was still floating cross-legged, his mind adrift in the realm of the Sand of Vibrant Waves as he had used the Top-Tier Custom Elental Insight Stone.
[ Wait, why is King Regalon like that? ]
[ Strange. Maybe he decided to ditate in one place. ]
[ Wait, look at that stone in his hand! That's the reward everyone got in the 12th hour! The fucking insight stone! ]
[ But it's ten hours, and even if he spent five hours, there's still five more…crap, it looks like he's done early. ]
[ A phantom! ]
Suddenly, a Phantom wielding dual swords appeared before Almond in the motion of a dash and swung his swords.
But suddenly, a faint bubble flickered around Almond into existence, and everyone saw a hazy slash passing through the phantom in slow motion right as the Phantom's attack touched the bubble.
In the next mont, everyone saw a flash of a million slashes as the phantom was obliterated and dispersed.
Right after that, a long and glowing arrow shot at Almond.
The random projectile also made the bubble appear briefly, but the result? The arrow simply shattered and dispersed just the sa as the phantom.
[ What the fuck? ]
[ Don't tell he put an automatic defense around him with counter-attack formation…]
[ Hahahahaha! ]
[ King Regalon is powerful enough to do that. I an, he was just strolling around previously, and all Phantoms just died in a blink without doing anything to him. ]
[ Yeah, it's not strange he could survive like this, but damn. He can just ditate and train, and he would automatically survive with his power…it's funny. ]
Naturally, people of the Big Ten were also watching the stream.
"We can see how strong they've beco, but not accurately."
"Fuck accuracy. It's clear that these Regalons acquired substantial power-up."
"Yeah. Perhaps Almond completed the Geneline as he stepped into Immortal Epror-rank."
"So how long will we wait before making our move?"
"A lot of them broke through to higher ranks…bottlenecks don't exist for these vermins."
"These sa faces….this group of around a hundred Regalon has turned even more elite. We have a higher number of powerhouses, but they have more individuals with better potential and a combat arsenal."
"Humph, they only got two Immortal Emprors, and three if we include Lily right now. That Rudra and so others are at Immortal-King, but even with resources gained from this chaotic dinsion, they'd need half a year to break through to Immortal Emperor. No matter what, our joint power can erase this clan anyti."
"That said, where is Lily? She is not being stread."
"Hmm, strange indeed. But that doesn't concern us. Let us now decide the date to begin our suppression, or perhaps, we should wait until Almond and Lily arrive in Arcadia Spectrum?"
"We should kill half of them first. The question is, how should we execute suppression?"
"We have to plan carefully, and we have to make sure Almond and Lily are away from the other Regalons. It would be easy to execute this once they arrive in Arcadia Spectrum, as that would give us a perfect chance, but if we want to do this earlier, we have to plan."
"Perhaps, it's ti to initiate a grand cosmic event and entangle the Regalons in it."
"A grand cosmic event?"
Hearing the words of Bralamir Clan's leader, the others were also confused.
"What kind of grand cosmic event are you talking about?"
"One that hasn't occurred in a long, long ti."
Bralamir clan leader's eyes glinted. "It's ti that we open the forbidden zone. This is the only thing that can cloud the Regalons. If it's any other event, they'd be wary."
Everyone else was shocked at the ntion of the forbidden zone.
Heck, one of them didn't even know anything about it.
The last ti it was opened was over a thousand years ago, and since then, the clan leaders had changed multiple tis as the previous ones ascended to the third layer.
"But that's dangerous! What if Almond succeeded inside and ascended to the third layer?!"
"Indeed. Not just Regalons, but other forces, the hidden ones, would also take this chance and try to ascend."
"Can soone tell more about this Forbidden Zone? I'm afraid I may have slacked in reading so things in the clan, so I don't know about this," Gibrelin clan's leader said with a wry smile.
"We call it Forbidden Zone, but it's just a natural part of this second layer, like Ascension Gas. Except that this ga's difficulty is high, aning a high death rate, but the boon is that as long as the leaders succeed and win, they would be able to revive their fallen clan mbers and ascend to the third layer."
"Since this zone was not beneficial for us, we've sealed it to prevent others from accessing it."
"That's rather interesting. So, like people can ascend anyti they want unlike the schedules of Ascension Gas, and as long as they win, they can ascend?"
"The winning part is tough. It's a war between clans as well as a survival race, and high-difficulty makes it tough for the majority."
"But not for Regalons. If they accessed it, they'd ascend for sure."
"I know," the Bralamir clan leader said, his eyes narrowing. "That's why they won't enter there. The current situation is that the Regalons won't easily fall into our trap. Big Dean is on their side, and they practically know we want to kill them."
"It's common knowledge for all the clans by now. Regalons must be weakened. I'm sure many are waiting to see that happen."
"Indeed. So we can announce the opening of the Forbidden Zone. Despite knowing this to be a trap, I don't think Big Dean would stop Regalons."
"Last ti it opened, Big Dean could sneakily enter, but he didn't. But if he wants to ascend this ti, we won't interfere. It's better if that old cat ascends already."
"Yeah."
Alas, who would tell them that the only reason Big Dean had yet to ascend, even after so many years, was because he wanted to destroy the Big Ten's grip on the second layer!
"We shall announce this a month later. For now, we have to focus on preparing the bodies."
"Then let's set the date of entering the Forbidden Region to four or six months later."
"Make it six since five months later, the yearly Ascension gas would be over. Our other Supre Emperors who failed to get ascension spots would be ready to join us in slaughtering Regalons by then."
"Sounds good."
…
For the five hours, Almond just floated cross-legged while all the Phantoms that ambushed him instantly died, and projectile attacks failed to even scratch him.
After he opened his eyes, Almond saw he had made good progress, with only a minor push required for him to break through Sand of Vibrant Waves to Paragon-rank.
"This is pretty good. I don't need to roam around and waste ti fighting phantoms," Almond muttered and closed his eyes again, comprehending the Sand of Vibrant Waves.
