Almond saw a huge map stretching far and wide on all sides.

There was another disk above it, showing a smaller land, and then one more above it, even smaller.

According to Rombe, there were three tiers of areas in Layer 2. Cheapest. Average. Luxurious.

Arklight City, which Rombe recomnded, was in the middle one.

The et-up place everyone had decided on was a particular area in the city called Astarbound Ward. It was one of the high-end areas of the city, and there was a beautiful water garden there, with tiny ponds and pathways through it, with open small pavilions over it for people to sit, chill, or ditate.

It required a fee of 10 Anchor Points to enter there.

Almond picked Arklight City’s Astarbound Ward and vanished.

...

Almond finished his first ga, but the rest were still playing.

Monster Wave Defense ended early since the other four were eliminated, ending the ga with Almond becoming the victor.

Lily was in a ga called Drifting Hill Conquerors.

In this ga, a total of 10 players participated, each given a hill floating amidst the clouds, and each one connected to one other through cloud paths.

Each hill had a number of monsters from weak to strong, and a Monolith hidden sowhere.

Finding the Monolith and destroying it would grant the player a point and open the cloud pathway leading to other hills.

New empty hills would co drifting and join the cluster as the players competed in destroying Monoliths and acquiring points.

Attacking each other was allowed, and death would result in elimination from the ga.

Lily was still in the ga with four more players.

The other five were eliminated.

’Shit. She is here. Run.’

A man with a tiger head wearing a martial robe saw Lily as he entered a new hill and instantly ran away.

Lily was there, as nine exotic Eldritch monsters floated around in miniature form, but actively searched the area around her as she walked.

The tenth Dreadling was in her hand, in its gear form, which was a whip with neon-glimring spikes, crackling with colorful neon lightning.

In weapon form, its basic attack could severely paralyze the opponent, and one of its six effects, a passive effect called Chronolock Strike, allowed Lily’s perception to slow down when attacking and change the tip of the whip as she willed.

She would always have first strike with this weapon, inflicting easy paralysis, and then bombarding her enemies with nine other peak Tier-5 Dreadlings, each one with more than five effects.

As she moved, a card appeared and turned into a Dreadgate as it latched onto the ground and began absorbing energies.

As Lily was searching for the Monolith, she suddenly felt sothing, and her eyes glinted coldly.

The area around her changed into a barren land with giant bones of dead monsters.

’Illusion?’

Lily saw that her Dreadlings were also with her.

A womanly figure suddenly manifested before Lily. She had long, golden, curved, spiky hair behind her, was over six feet in height, with an amber-colored fur body and two external fangs.

The fluffy ears on her head moved as she grinned at Lily.

"Quite a trouble, aren’t you? Those scary Tier-5 creatures are basically cheating the highest class."

Lily blinked.

One of the Dreadlings suddenly took its true form as an eldritch eyeball monster with fiery, scaled tentacles, popping up above her at ten ters in size, with twenty tentacles growing from it, even longer.

[Pyrren Dreathrix Watcher]

In an instant, the eyeball glimred, and a fiery cage entrapped the golden werewolf woman.

But the woman, nad Welfira Oberon according to the leaderboard, simply vanished like mist.

Lily didn’t make a move herself because she knew it was an illusion.

A card had activated quietly.

Dreadspire’s Call—Transmission.

Each card could evolve and gain its evolved version with differences in effects and costs, but synergistically connected nonetheless.

Dreadspire’s Call—Transmission allowed Lily to incorporate all effects of a Dreadling into herself and use them for half the Pulse cost for a certain duration.

As such, her pupils transford as she activated one of the effects of Pyrren Dreathrix Watcher, allowing her to burn the false and reveal the truth of everything she watched.

As she looked around, the illusion crumbled.

"What?! So easily? I just set up my attack combo." Welfira was shocked.

Next to her, a ter-tall humanoid with dark blue skin and a big head floated, with giant robotic arms coming out of magic circles.

Rank 4: Lueajia Jorkos.

"Tsk. Go and escape. I’ll hold her back." He attacked Lily as his exotic robotic arms unleashed a variety of attacks.

But Welfira had already started running before Jorkos even finished speaking.

"Don’t forget to call !" Jorkos shouted right before a huge storm of colorful flas, and lightning struck him alongside his robotic arms.

Lily didn’t bother chasing.

She was rank 1 on the leaderboard, steadily gaining points, and was about to win because there was a ti limit for this ga, which was one hour, and only ten minutes were left.

Ainen, Saffa, Clovelle, Fraisea, and Gopu had just finished their gas as well.

Gopu was a dragon with high intelligence and was considered a player. He could also turn humanoid, but Gopu never took that form as the dragon form was more comfortable for him.

...

The water garden of Astarbound Ward was a picture of serenity and peace.

All over the garden, soft lights floated above the ponds like drifting stars, their reflections rippling gently with the water.

The pavilions were carved from pale stone and crystal wood, open on all sides, with thin curtains of light instead of walls.

Almond sat cross-legged on one of the platforms, eyes closed, ditating while waiting.

He was eager to look around the city and visit the Anchor Points, as he had seen many fun places by extending his senses outward.

The city was bustling yet peaceful.

Fighting wasn’t allowed unless both parties mutually agreed, which would teleport them into an arena, with the match broadcasting live for anyone to see.

Almond saw people from Tier-2 all the way up to Tier-10 in the city, with everyone’s survival staked on a single thing—Anchor Points.

A ripple passed through the garden as a person entered.

Ainen looked around, spotted Almond, and made his way towards him

Seeing him enter the pavilion, Almond opened his eyes. "How many points?"

"500 plus 250 bonus," Ainen answered and blinked. "You?"

"Sa." Almond nodded. "It seems D-rank gas have fixed points for rank 1."

"Could be." Ainen grinned. "But it was fun. Guess we’ll be enjoying our adventure in layer 2 a lot better."

"Indeed."

Soon, Saffa, Clovelle, Fraisea, and Gopu arrived one by one, with the last one being Lily.

"Alright, let’s move out." Almond stretched his arms. "I want to buy so kind of material as well."

He wanted to add so more stuff with the Oblivion Spirits for Alfred’s new vessel.

"I am hungry, darling. Let’s buy so ingredients for food, too." Clovelle’s fluffy tail nudged Ainen.

"Let’s eat sothing from the city first. I want to discover new tastes." Ainen’s eyes glimred as he was already mapping the city with one of his three neutral cards—Live Map.

Saffa chuckled. "Well, nobody can make better food than you, but let’s try it anyway."

"Can’t deny that." Almond wryly smiled and lightly laughed. "Rombe and Tofen were crying after eating his food."

Both of them regretted so much for not inviting Ainen and others to town earlier after eating his food. It was comical, but understandable after eating Ainen’s food.

"Speaking of that, Ainen can open a restaurant, and he will earn Anchor Points just fine," Lily said.

"True. We’ll have to check the price to buy the places here." Fraisea nodded.

"And a big, beautiful place for us to live. I vote for a courtyard." Ainen grinned.

"Raw!" Gopu roared, voting in Ainen’s favor.

"Courtyard sounds good. Let’s find one."
