Chapter 313: The Anti Climactic Reunion

1 week later…

This is fucking boring, Rael thought with a frown.

All day, every day, the only things he had been doing were running around, cooking food, and simply living life.

It was boring. Way too boring for soone like him who wanted to fight and level up.

Yet he held on for the sole reason that his sister was here, or rather, would co back here.

In the anti, he wasn’t slacking off. Instead, he had actually been trying to master the one thing that had been with him ever since he arrived in this mory Record.

The weird tingly feeling in his heart whenever he was in danger.

He realized that he had so sort of passive Danger Sense ability that increased his reflexes and speed depending on his opponent.

The only reason it didn’t activate against those psychopath twins was because he didn’t really see them as much of a threat.

Aside from that, he realized his hand-to-hand skills had increased significantly, which in turn also made him a better swordsman.

Though I wonder… could I replace the rapier with anything? If I could combine the Violin part of my weapon with so overpowered sword, the stats I’d gain would be insane.

But that was for future him to figure out.

Still, he really wanted to passively have that Danger Sense on at all tis, since it’d make him basically invincible.

Yet as he was about to start hatching his plan, Jane tapped him on the shoulder.

She wore a neat blue dress as she pointed to the entrance of the survivor’s camp.

“You wanted to et her, right? I heard she’s coming back. There’s like a whole parade happening and everything,” Jane said with a slight smirk. “Did you bring a pen?”

Rael shook his head. “Nope. Be right back.”

With those words, he imdiately entered the Soul Realm and began making his way to the exit.

As Jane had ntioned, there were people lining the sides of the street, waiting for lissa to finally arrive.

And there was even one person he recognized, Julian.

He was waving around so cheerleader pom-poms.

He really is a fanboy… Rael held back a laugh as he rested against the side of a wall and waited just like the rest of them.

After a few minutes, he saw shadows in the distance. They resembled skeletons, goblins, and other types of monsters.

He assud she made these shadow soldiers from the corpses of the monsters she had killed, almost like necromancy, just without the gross undead bit.

And after what felt like ages, he was finally able to see the person who controlled all these shadows, his sister, lissa.

She wore a dark cape and held a surprisingly thin black cane in her right hand.

Every ti she brought the cane down onto the ground, the shadows waved at the surrounding people. Still, her expression remained cold and detached.

Still, her little welcoming parade continued until eventually, she reached her camp.

Most of the people followed her in as she walked to the very center of the camp and dispersed her shadow summons.

She sat down on one of the more comfortable chairs and crossed her legs, flashing a half-smile to all the people present.

Yet no one spoke, almost as if they were waiting for one thing in particular.

And just a second later, they got it.

“I cleared it,” lissa announced nonchalantly.

The mont she did, the crowd burst into cheers.

But it all sounded muted to Rael, who simply stared at the face of his sister.

She seed dissatisfied and clearly unhappy.

He didn’t know what the reason was, but even so, he waited for the cheering to die down.

Yet it died down after a few hours, mainly because it got dark and everyone went to sleep. That also included lissa, who walked to the giant mansion at the far end of the camp.

So people tried following her, but they were all interrupted by her shadow summons.

All except for Rael, who was invisible to all of them.

She entered her mansion, and Rael slipped in right behind her.

lissa took a deep breath, then all of a sudden, she threw the thin black cane straight into the nearby wall, embedding it deep inside.

She didn’t say a word as she retrieved her cane and threw it again.

This little ltdown of hers continued for several minutes until eventually, she slumped down on the living room couch.

Hmm… she’s definitely changed since the last ti I saw her.

Rael wasn’t planning on watching her from the shadows, so he walked over to the other end of the couch and sat down before finally leaving the Soul Realm.

The mont he did, his senses flared up as he instinctively jumped, dodging the thin black cane that had been heading for his neck.

Once he landed, his gaze t lissa’s, who was staring at him with a frown.

As much as he hated to admit it, he was kind of expecting a hug, maybe a little ‘I missed you, big brother!’ on the side as well.

But alas, he was a piece of shit, so it was only natural he was being treated like one in return.

“Hey,” Rael called out with a wave. “It’s been ages… I’m glad you’re awake… and alive.”

His voice trembled with each word he uttered.

Yet he was t with a disinterested scoff.

“I liked it when you visited , it brought comfort. But then one day, you stopped showing up,” lissa said coldly. “I rember everything. How you sat in that chair beside and the stories you used to tell when you visited… until you didn’t.”

She approached, stopping right in front of him.

“But because you are still my brother, I’ll give you a simple choice,” she muttered, her brow twitching as her gaze continued to sharpen.

“Will you leave here willingly, or should I drag you out by force, Rael?”
