"Evelyn?" Rael called out, slowly approaching her.

His body felt slightly wonky, and he was sure he wasn’t exactly all there at the mont.

But even so, that didn’t stop him from approaching Evelyn. She simply stared back at him, and after a few short monts, she let out a sigh.

"What did you hope to accomplish by provoking Minos?" she asked, resting her head against the bark. "Was it arrogance or greed?"

"Neither," Rael said plainly and sat down beside her.

"I thought I could take him out of his shell and figure out more about him... It was an oversight on my part. I knew he was sensitive, but I still pushed his buttons."

Evelyn nodded. "At least you know. Wait for now. We’re reconstructing your body."

"Did he actually kill ...?" Rael asked, shocked.

"He ejected your soul and then de-atomized your body. Vatyra and Kareth are working on bringing you back. Chronos... he tried to turn back ti, but it seed like Minos managed to separate your body from ti before killing you."

"As for , I managed to salvage your soul and pull it into your Mind Realm," Evelyn explained, her voice lowering.

"I think you should stop this... First it was Zarkul, and now Minos. You’re antagonizing them without reason. I get that you’re curious, but you must understand... The only leverage you have over us is our generosity. You push our buttons, and yet you fail to realize just who you’re going up against."

She finally stood up, eting his gaze with a cold expression.

"We are beings who have seen the universes fall and reignite. We are beings who have lived what most consider an eternity... And yet, in the face of our kindness, you try to exploit us. We are not equals, and we are not easily fooled. What little edge you think you gained on us is nothing but your imagination at play."

Stepping closer, she narrowed her eyes.

"Vatyra is not as helpless as she led you to believe. Chronos held back, not using even a fraction of his true power. Lastly, Zarkul could’ve ended the fight before you could even blink, all while using the sa amount of strength as you do, and so could have the others. Even Minos. He didn’t use all of his strength, yet he managed to kill you without you even being able to put up a fight."

Evelyn didn’t emit any sort of oppressive pressure, but her words alone carried her intent.

It seed like the reason she ca here in the first place was to give him a long-needed reality check.

He knew he wasn’t even close to the power of the Supre Monsters. Sure, he was close to the power of a Grade 4, who’s to say the Supre Monsters at Grade 8 didn’t have the power to rival Grade 16 powerhouses, if they even existed.

So, in the end, Rael felt like all his actions thus far after eting the Supre Monsters were too immature. He treated them as though they were friends, when in reality, most of them didn’t even know him.

And Evelyn stepped in to give a lesson in respect. Rael sighed. I really feel like an idiot now...

He knew that the Supre Monsters were nothing to joke about. Even after he acted like an idiot in front of them, they did nothing. But alas, he went too far, and Minos decided to ’kill’ him.

But there was still one question on Rael’s mind.

"Why are you trying to revive ?" he asked. "Isn’t the trial basically that I die if I don’t beat you?"

"Indeed it is," Evelyn replied patiently. "But with your soul still intact, you are technically considered alive. Minos had the ans to erase your soul, but he didn’t, which ans you got a second chance at life, even after physical death. Because he forfeited while you were still technically alive, the match ended in your win."

Rael’s eyes widened. "Isn’t that a little...?"

"It’s how we operate, and if you have any complaints, take it up with Kareth. Now drop this," Evelyn said, walking back to the oak tree and sitting down.

Then, she t his gaze. "We are not granting you life. Your body, even while de-atomized, is sohow scrambling through space in the form of mana particles. Before long, you’ll be back. All that we are doing is piecing together those mana particles faster."

With that, her usual playfulness returned.

"My advice for you is to get stronger if you want to get answers to questions that are way beyond you. For now, that’s all."

"I see... Thanks for the pep talk," Rael said sincerely. "I’ll watch my words next ti."

Evelyn nodded. "You should. As for your remaining battles, I will be the next one to fight you."

She turned toward Gaia with a faint smile. "I’m glad you two are getting along. I was worried you might not have acknowledged him because of how reckless he is."

Gaia rolled her eyes. "So you’re the person who saved ? I was expecting soone more... rounded?"

She’s calling her flat right off the bat? Even I wouldn’t have the balls to do that... Rael praised Gaia inwardly.

"Rounded? I thought you would be more mature given your age," Evelyn shot back with a pout.

She was going to continue, but almost as if she wanted to be the bigger person, she pulled out of the argunt.

"The last ti I saw you, you were wallowing in despair. I’m glad that’s changed, Gaia. I would love to catch up since I can sense you are lacking a lot of mories, but there are a few circumstances preventing from directly talking about the past with you... Bla your paranoia for that, by the way."

"It’s alright... I believe I’m regaining mories every day." Gaia smiled. "I rember the first ti I planted a flower and nourished it to beco the world’s most treasured flower... But enough about , please continue with your duel."

he stepped behind the oak tree, and to Rael’s surprise, revealed a small stone arena. Moss covered the floor, and large trees surrounded it.

"Perfect..." Evelyn praised, turning to Rael. "Since I’m not a physical fighter like the others, and I’m much stronger than you in the Mind Realm, I propose a different kind of test..."
