Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster Chapter 576: Acknowledged
As the figure’s words hung in the air, it suddenly snapped its fingers, causing Rael’s vision to montarily distort.
Yet, despite it distorting, Rael gathered his Ti Mana and subtly wound back ti by a single second.
The figure hadn’t flicked its fingers yet. However, its fingers were already in the right motion.
And seeing that, Rael didn’t hesitate to suddenly activate his Ti Domain, enveloping the figure from head to toe. Furthermore, he utilized his most recent addition to the Law of Destruction.
—Domain abilities may now be combined to alter their nature. The Law of Destruction and Law of Plasma’s natures are automatically embedded in any Domain you conjure.
It seed plain and simple at first, but if he were to extend all 48,108,288 ters of his Ti Domain around the palace, the aura from the Law of Destruction and Law of Plasma would instantly kill every being who was under Grade 6, while also greatly injuring a low-level Grade 6.
And that, of course, included the being who was masquerading as him.
The mont the Ti Domain enveloped the being, its body turned to dust. Blue particles flickered in and out of existence, since the Law of Plasma was actively trying to destroy what remained.
And yet, the feeling of killing soone was not satisfied. When he turned around, he realized the being was still fine, with only a minor burn on its hand.
"Quite a handy ability. Ti regression, and even a Domain on such a level. If only you used your Mind Realm Domain ability as well. Hmm... Now that I’m looking at it, you have so many skill combinations. You could even use the God Mode in the outside world if you’re inside your Mind Realm Domain. How curious..."
The being continued rambling on, but Rael didn’t let up. He used every skill in his arsenal, all the way from sothing as simple as a Blood Arrow to crushing the figure’s head. Yet, no matter what he did, there didn’t seem to be any progress.
Everything he was doing, his abilities, skills, transformations, and even Law usage, was beyond what he had ever done before.
And yet, the outco stayed the sa.
Five minutes, an hour, five hours. The one-sided fight didn’t seem like it was going to stop any ti soon.
But that was when the figure finally threw a punch, which Rael managed to spot with his foresight and dodge in ti to counterattack, crushing the figure’s head once again.
Yet from there on, the figure began attacking more frequently, punches, kicks, and eventually, skills and abilities. After another hour, it even began using Laws.
Even so, it hadn’t managed to hit him even once.
...Nor was he able to defeat it even once either.
However, as he thought the fight would continue like this, Rael spotted an opening in the being’s left side.
His instincts were telling him not to do it, to not go in. Even his foresight showed an outco he wouldn’t like.
But for so strange reason, Rael felt like not taking this opportunity would cost him.
So, without thinking too much about it, Rael kicked off the ground and reappeared by the figure’s side. Just then, a beam of light shot out from the figure’s eyes, scorching Rael’s chest.
It hurt slightly, but he was more focused on grabbing the figure than caring about his own safety.
And it worked. He managed to grab the figure by tearing through its skin, causing it to wince and suddenly blink away.
It wasn’t the outco he saw with foresight. In fact, he was supposed to die here just now.
"That’s odd. I had expected you to be like this for a little longer," the figure said. "Don’t you feel like you’re perfect? Why go for such a foolish attack that would get you killed?"
Rael didn’t answer and resud his attacks. Unlike before, there was a very big difference in how the fight went down.
He managed to land solid hits that didn’t regenerate instantly and even grab the figure every now and then, pumling it.
The figure’s power increased slightly, to the point it could now fight back against his onslaught. However, this sudden bit of desperation didn’t go unnoticed by Rael, and in turn, it made him even bolder.
And, of course, unpredictable.
Randomized movents, getting hit on purpose to score a hit, and even a few silly feints that were actually real attacks.
He felt a strange feeling well up in his chest, and the more he fought, the stronger that feeling grew.
Fragnts of distant mories began to slowly flood his mind. The first ti he fought dirty, and the first ti he actually had fun fighting.
Then ca the mories of an even more complex feeling.
The figure of a woman appeared, tying every single mory together. Bit by bit, he felt his previously foggy mind clearing up, his mories rapidly returning.
Sketa Online, his ti in the Dralgur Continent, the mory Record, the Depths, and more.
Eventually, he even reached the Hollow Throne succession mory, right before his mories had faded.
And finally, when all the shit he had just gone through for the last six hours cleared up inside his mind, Rael stopped his fist right in front of the figure’s face.
"Was this your test?" Rael asked coldly. "Remove all my mories, but only keep the ones that involve fighting. Were you expecting to turn into so kind of war machine?"
The figure stared at him, then stepped back with a faint smile.
"I wanted to see if you could co back... You see, I once was like you. Powerful beyond belief, and yet, the reason I fell in battle was because I thought my perfection was unparalleled."
The light progressively began to dim from its eyes.
"On the battlefield, I was unstoppable, but when I ended all the wars and served my ultimate purpose of killing all my enemies, I was empty. I was too far gone to take a step back, and yet far too arrogant to seek help."
"Ultimately, my goal for perfection eliminated my mind, leaving nothing but a killing machine that destroyed the Hollow Kingdom. I was only stopped once the new Hollow ruler ca to be."
Finally, its form distorted, and it returned to its previous shadowy self, casting a cold look over Rael.
"I appreciate you for choosing first. Basking in your emotions was rather calming. You have passed my test, so you may now move on and find the others..."
With those final words, the shadowy figure’s form began to fade, until finally, Rael was once again alone in the hallways, the rest of his mories coming back fully.
Not only that, a pop-up appeared right after.
"Well... That was sothing," Rael mumbled, rubbing his temples in annoyance. Gaia, is it really this easy for soone to just wipe my mories?
[Of course not. The being you just encountered was simply at the pinnacle of existence at so point. Plus, by participating in the trial and giving your consent, he was able to go around a few asures and temporarily erase your mories,] Gaia replied.
Hearing that, he was slightly more assured, but just as much wary. If all it took was unknowingly accepting so kind of term to have his mories erased, then this place was much more dangerous than he first anticipated.
And for that reason alone, moving forward, Rael would be a little more careful.
But aside from that, it was about ti he found another shadow. After all, he only had 18 hours remaining.
