Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster Chapter 601: The Core of Familiarity
Rael stared at her for a mont, then sat down, a puzzled look on his face.
It was nice that she was down to tell him about sothing, but what was the reason she was even telling him in the first place?
Still, with his curiosity at an all-ti high, he waited for her to speak up, until finally, she did.
"Have you ever heard of the Supre Beast?" she asked.
Rael nodded instantly, and so she continued:
"Okay, so that being was one of the main people to oppose The One Beyond Ti. It was also the reason why the shattering happened, since when The One Beyond Ti died, the amount of mana he released created several dozen universes."
She tilted her head.
"Each universe had a being similar to The One Beyond Ti, so the multiverse kept expanding infinitely. However, if what you said was the truth, then that ans the being who was responsible for the shattering actually survived it."
"Or maybe..." Anastasia looked him up and down, a curious expression appearing on her face.
"Solenne told about you. I vaguely rember our conversation, but you were also alive before the shattering, right? Do you have mories of what happened?"
"Nope," Rael replied plainly. "None at all."
Though even if he didn’t know what kind of story she was trying to spin, he knew in which direction she was going.
If he managed to reincarnate, or create an avatar of himself without mories, then what’s to say The One Beyond Ti didn’t do the sa?
It was a theory he had only thought about but didn’t actually go through with. But since she said The One Beyond Ti was responsible for the shattering, then, if he wanted to defeat that being, Rael really needed to get his mories back.
Every single one of them.
Because unlike Rael, The One Beyond Ti likely had all his mories intact.
Leaning back, Rael listened as Anastasia pretty much retold what he had just pondered over, until eventually, she turned quiet.
"That’s pretty much it," she said, glancing up at the sky. "The more I inspect my mories, the more I realize there are gaps. If I listen to everything you’ve told , then it’s very likely that Lucien really is The One Beyond Ti. But if that really is the case, then whatever you’re scheming... you’re too late."
Rael t her gaze. "What do you an?"
Instead, she avoided his.
"The fourth trial was supposed to be a..."
She winced in pain and clutched her head. Clearly, whatever she wanted to tell him, she couldn’t.
Almost like a restriction was placed on her, and if he had to guess, this was definitely not the first.
Still, Rael tried to put himself in Lucien’s shoes.
What could he want?
If Rael was Lucien, what would he do?
Why did Rael have to be here? Why did Solenne have to be injured? Why was Anastasia’s mind and dreams not protected?
There were so many questions, and for so reason, it all circled back to when the succession first started.
The first irregularity.
Kareth’s disappearance.
He had taken the precaution of getting Vatyra to contact Evelyn, who would then reach out to Kareth. But since Rael didn’t get a response from Lilith, that ant she wasn’t successful in contacting him.
Rael put a hand over his chin and blankly stared into the distance.
Lucien put this plan into motion since I first arrived as a level 1 noob in that dungeon. I was sucked into his plan, but why? What could he want from that he didn’t already have? If he was the final boss the Supre Beast had to kill, then... fuck.
It sucked not having any information about Lucien. All the while, he knew everything about him.
As I was about to continue pondering over the possibilities and Kareth’s disappearance, I suddenly felt a tremble beneath my feet.
And before I knew it, the titanic hand was suddenly thrust back up into the sky, nearly crushing with the amount of pressure.
Thankfully, Anastasia reacted in ti and reduced the pressure by using her barrier. But even then, she suffered a few injuries, as well as a broken wrist.
"Use your powers so the dream breaks," Rael said abruptly. "I don’t think there’s anything more to—"
"Shut up," Anastasia interjected, eting his gaze. "You did whatever you wanted inside my dream, and now it’s my turn. I wish to see the end of this mory, and just who the being responsible for my friends’ deaths is."
Rael could only stay silent at her words. Sure, he could just die here and return, letting her continue. But obviously, seeing this through might be beneficial for him as well.
So he simply sucked it up and continued bearing through the pressure until finally, the hand stopped. But when it did, he was already far above the clouds.
He could see both the sun and the moon on the horizon, but more importantly, he could see a massive gray eye staring directly into his soul.
It was a giant titan, and from the looks of things, he wasn’t even standing on any surface. Instead, he floated in space.
That would explain why it was kind of hard to breathe. Of course, he had to thank Anastasia for making both of them a little space mask so they could breathe in space.
Still, as Rael stared at the massive white titan, he couldn’t help but feel that sa sensation as before.
Familiarity.
So while Anastasia trembled in anger, preparing to attack the titan, Rael was engrossed in the titan’s eyes, as if trying to stare back into its soul.
He soon fell into a trance, and before he knew it, Rael spotted a slight sheen in the titan’s eyes.
It was irregular, and it was sothing he wouldn’t expect to see from a normal eye.
And when he looked closer, he realized sothing even more shocking.
Its eyes were massive chunks of crystals.
Rael tilted his head in confusion, but in doing so, he managed to catch a glimpse of the titan’s chest, and to his genuine surprise, he saw a blue glow in place of its heart.
His mind imdiately turned blank.
A sense of familiarity... crystal eyes... a glowing blue heart?
A plasma core?
"..."
Is this my construct?
