"I’m not a flower that opens up. So shut up and don’t make it weird," Vatyra replied with a scowl.

Rael just smiled and didn’t say anything else. It was enough to know that she was willing to share about her past, and as expected, it was tragic.

Obviously, she didn’t tell him everything either.

Letting out a sigh, Rael decided to pry a little further.

"So you can technically rebirth, then?"

Vatyra sighed.

"I told you to drop it."

"Co on, you just revealed your secret to . Plus, it’s not like I’m going to go share this with anyone else. Consider it family bonding ti between Uriel’s mother and father."

It seed like she wanted to hit Rael again.

But even so...

"I can’t rebirth like the other phoenixes. Every ti I rebirth, so fragnts of my consciousness split away from and then are born as beings. So of those beings grow strong, while others die before they can do anything special."

"Either way, I don’t know how many beings there are in the universe that were born from my consciousness. Nor do I want to find out."

"Hmm..." Rael fell into thought for a mont. "Do you lose any mories when that happens?"

"No. My consciousness is just copied," she replied.

The more he heard about this, the more he was interested in her past.

Why exactly did this happen to her? Moreover, was it possible for him to sohow fix this?

What if he were to give her a Tier 10 Phoenix Bloodline?

Or maybe even several bloodlines?

Would that perhaps cancel out the curse she had, or maybe it would amplify it instead...?

Although Rael didn’t know the answer to those questions, he wanted to find out. The only idea he had on how to do so was to go into the Prophetic Realm.

But as if sensing his intentions, Vatyra soon grabbed him by the collar, stopping him from going inside the Prophetic Realm.

"I don’t need your charity," Vatyra said sternly. "So whatever you’re planning to do, I’m not interested."

"You know, I’d personally be grateful when soone wants to help ," Rael replied.

"I’m not grateful, so drop it."

In the next instant, Vatyra removed the sound dampening barrier, allowing the two of them to hear Uriel down below.

To their surprise, he was just running around and playing football with the slis. Sure, he killed them effortlessly, and although Rael would be bored already, he was kind of forgetting just how old Uriel was.

"I guess I’ll stick with you then," Rael said, patting Vatyra’s shoulder.

Vatyra shrugged and continued watching Uriel alongside Rael.

Hours passed in the blink of an eye.

Though, a weird thought soon popped into Rael’s mind that he wasn’t sure if he wanted to say aloud.

But seeing as though the two of them do not talk often...

"Say, Vatyra. Do you want to get married?"

"..."

"What?"

She turned to him like a robot.

"What did you just say?"

Rael shrugged slightly.

"Well, I was just thinking... Uriel is technically our child, and so he might want to see us get married one day."

"Are you sure you’re not just saying this as so sort of fantasy?" Vatyra asked patiently.

Rael thought about it for a mont, then shook his head.

"While I do think you’re attractive, I’m not sure if I have feelings for you. Judging by how you act around , I doubt you have feelings either."

"..."

"And if Uriel’s going to live forever, so will we. Well... I guess it’s just food for thought. Take my words as rambling if you want," Rael added and fell silent.

Though, he also realized that Vatyra was a little flustered. It was the first ti he had seen her flustered at all.

But since he could vaguely feel her emotions, Rael knew it wasn’t because she secretly liked him or anything.

Still...

"Your face is red, miss phoenix."

It wasn’t.

But his words alone were enough to piss her off further. She groaned slightly and decided to give him a soft punch on the shoulder.

Or he thought it was a soft punch considering how slow it was going. But in reality, the mont her fist struck his shoulder, Rael felt his nonexistent bones shatter as he was suddenly launched through the sky at several thousand kiloters per second, reaching outer space instantly.

A mont later, Vatyra reappeared beside him with her arms crossed.

"No sexual jokes, no talking about my appearance, no talking about my past. Understood?"

"Hmm...? What’s wrong with your appearance?"

Her brow twitched.

"I-I an... You look beautiful, so what’s the problem? Never mind... I understand. But about your past, why not? I get not wanting to share so stuff, but if we’re to live forever, don’t you think I should be able to ask about your past even a little bit?"

Seeing how persistent Rael was being, Vatyra grumbled in annoyance.

Rael chuckled at the sight.

"I’ll be sure to give us a grand marriage."

"What marriage? I didn’t even agree to anything yet," she retorted.

"Ah, I was just talking to myself, don’t mind ," Rael replied.

Teasing her was a little fun too.

But he didn’t want to push his luck too, since Vatyra and he were not that close. Sure, they had gone through so stuff together, but it wasn’t anything that would make them get closer.

The only reason they were even together right now was because of Uriel.

Even so, Rael smiled to himself and continued to tease her, until eventually, several kiloters around them were filled with nothing but debris as Uriel had long since dealt with all the slis here.

He was planning on heading toward another location, but that was when Vatyra chid in.

"We need to get so food first. Rael said he’s going to cook, so let’s go ho for a bit, shall we?"
