“Rael Sutekh, it’s nice to finally et you,” the being said.

Rael let out a sigh. “Likewise, I guess. So many powerful beings have greeted in the sa way, I feel like I’ve grown numb at this point.”

The being let out a chuckle. “I understand. Worry yourself not, as I don’t intend to harm you or anyone you care about. I was simply interested in your existence, as well as the way you carried yourself when it ca to facing off against authoritative figures such as myself and Isobel.”

Then, a faint smile appeared on his face.

“You may call Reality.”

Cringe.

“Or Ren. Ren works fine too.”

Hm. So he definitely could read Rael’s mind then.

Welp.

“Ren, to be frank with you, I really don’t like being pressured. If you’ve done so research on , you should know how the last ti I got pressured went.”

Ren nodded. “I’m not here to pressure you. Rather, the only reason I arrived was because I do rember a being who had a situation similar to yours. It’s a rather tragic tale, which is why I decided to talk to you personally rather than in front of a large crowd.”

Snapping his fingers, he summoned two chairs, sitting down on one of them. He gestured at the other, and of course, Rael sat down as well, interested by what he had just said.

“How similar of a situation are we talking about?”

“Identical,” Ren assured. “I rember it as though it were yesterday. A man who could control everything erged before and asked for guidance. I guided him, naturally. Although all that did was make him overly powerful, to the point he was able to control his powers at will and basically rewrite the whole of existence however he wanted.”

That didn’t sound too bad.

If anything, Rael felt like that was a bit cool, rewriting existence and all. Though it also did seem like a bit of a chore. Regardless of whether it was a chore or not, Rael still wanted to hear the story, since if anything, it would help him understand himself a little better.

And so he continued listening.

“However, with such power also cos responsibility. Since that being never knew where he originated from, he always kept trying to search for answers. Yet there were no answers that would satisfy him, simply because his birth, as well as his whole existence, was a complete and total accident.”

“Accident?” Rael raised a brow. “How could soone so powerful be an accident?”

Ren shrugged. “I’m not sure. Though I do know that after he realized there were no answers, he tried his best to cover everything up, to make everything better. He simply beca a person who, despite his power and the love he had from those he cared about, couldn’t help but fall into the endless cycle of wanting sothing better.”

Sighing, he added:

“So in the end, within just ten eons after his ascendance to the Absolute, his consciousness vanished, and all that was left was so being who existed in everyone and provided information to those who needed it. Simply put, while he hadn’t died, he had stopped existing as well.”

Rael found that even more odd, and so he ca to his own conclusion.

“Did he beco the system or sothing?”

Ren paused for a mont, then nodded, leaving Rael speechless. He really did say it just in the heat of the mont, not expecting anything. But damn… for that being to turn into the system which gave everyone their powers and skills and so much other stuff… it was hard to believe.

“Then, what about the Akashic Records? Is it that person’s doing too?” Rael asked.

Ren shook his head. “The Akashic Records have existed long before that being. In fact, they have existed even before my birth, which most likely ans that before this being that gave us the system, there was another being who gave us the Akashic Records.”

“In truth… despite people claiming they were born at the beginning of ti, no one knows when the beginning of ti really is. One could be born a second after the beginning of ti, but ti at that scale is subjective. A second for you might have been an eternity for another. It’s the beauty of ti, which is why I initially wanted to embody the Concept of Ti rather than Reality.”

“I see…” Rael fell into thought for a brief mont.

He hadn’t expected to hear sothing like that, but according to Ren, every single ti a being like Rael appeared, they always self-destructed or sothing, turning into pure mana and helping out others.

But how did that even happen? For starters, just how much were their minds fucked to the point that they had no choice but to lt their consciousness into the universe to provide such power? But if that was the case, what existed before the systems? What existed before the Akashic Records?

Could one such being, much like the ones that created the Akashic Records and the System, actually have created the universe? Maybe soone else created the planets, galaxies, and everything else?

Could this be so kind of infinite chain of inheritances passed from one being to another? Did that an that Rael was the next being who was supposed to provide sothing for the universe?

For starters, fuck that. Why would he do sothing so stupid? Was that what he was born for to begin with? Welp, he was most definitely not going to do anything that would turn him into one of those beings.

Still, with this kind of conversation, Rael felt like his identity was even more of a mystery. Even if the universe birthed soone like that, could there be sothing else behind it? Would it really be a total accident?

Rael didn’t believe it, and yet, when he glanced up and saw Ren’s expression, he froze.

On the other hand, Ren just smiled.

“You are indeed an accident.”
