The mont Rael arrived, he saw sothing he wasn’t exactly expecting. Uriel’s house, the sa house Rael had actually kind of disliked on the outside but liked on the inside, was now lit afla.

As for Uriel and Solenne, the two of them seed to be underground. They ran across so type of sewage system, and as for the people who set their house on fire, they were seemingly walking around, looking to find sothing in the rubble.

If Rael had to guess, Solenne went ahead and found the cure to cancer. Not literally, of course, but she must’ve made such a great breakthrough by this world’s standards that these idiots had no choice but to take action and try to kill her.

Rael recognized it, since the sa used to happen back in his world. Or rather, Altros’s world. Rael wasn’t having an identity crisis, but he did feel weird referring to himself as Rael when he actually wasn’t.

Welp. Whatever. It wasn’t like this wannabe identity crisis was going to last long. It wasn’t like he cared much about it in the first place. So with that in mind, Rael humd and glanced at the people ahead. Then, with a single movent of his hand, he de-atomized them, killing them instantly.

He wanted to do the sa to the rest of the city, but he knew very well that the majority were innocent. He might lack morals nowadays, but Rael still wanted to believe that he wasn’t inherently evil.

So with that in mind, he left the others alone and then carefully trailed Uriel and Solenne as they ran throughout the sewers below. It was a rather interesting location, since whenever Rael looked down deeper, he spotted a small civilization hanging around there.

Was that where Uriel and Solenne were going? No way, right?

But it seed like Rael’s worries were indeed correct, as after just a couple more minutes, that was where Uriel and Solenne had ended up. Feeling a slight bit of annoyance welling up inside him, Rael went ahead and decided to try sothing out.

As his body was made completely out of mana, that opened up the possibility for greater control. Because of that, whenever Rael focused for even a mont, he was imdiately t with a nice revelation.

So long as he molded himself into any identity he pleased, he could change forms. It was an interesting process, and it took only a few seconds at most. When he was done, he resembled so old man. He sure as shit felt like an old man too, since this form ca with the obvious caveat of back pain.

Rael groaned a little, then teleported down to the city below. The mont he reappeared, he was greeted with the stench of iron. Rather than this being blood, though, it was primarily because this city operated within so kind of tal structure.

It was perfectly filtrated, and if Rael didn’t know any better, he’d say it didn’t belong to the current era. The people were small too... Oh. Right. These people were dwarves.

Rael facepald inwardly, and right as one of those dwarves looked in his direction, Rael vanished once more, reappearing behind one of the buildings made completely out of dense tal. This was like an underground town, and it didn’t have many restaurants or anything, for that matter.

Instead, there were a lot of smithies, as well as one unified forge for all the blacksmiths to use. It was a nice city in comparison to the one above. But for these dwarves to make it accessible through a sewer? Really?

Regardless of that fact, Rael decided to alter his appearance a little bit, making himself shorter. The back pain increased for so reason, but through sheer effort, Rael ignored it and made it so he looked like any ordinary dwarf.

And finally, when he glanced over to the entrance of this place, Rael saw Uriel and Solenne appear. They weren’t that wounded, but Uriel did have a few scratches all around his body, which ant he didn’t have the funnest of tis, especially when it ca to fighting with people.

He was a shit fighter, to say the least.

Anyhow, the dwarves noticed the two of them and imdiately circled them with weapons, not giving them even a single mont to breathe properly.

It was a normal reaction, and if Rael didn’t know any better, he’d say Uriel and Solenne were about to die to protect the dwarves’ secret.

But to Rael’s surprise, Solenne seed to have other plans in mind as she opened her mouth and started speaking:

"Hello everyone... I’m one of the researchers from the human kingdom up on the ground. We were banished and tossed aside, chased and nearly killed. We seek refuge. In exchange, we’d help you progress your craft and even help you take back what used to be yours."

Evidently, the dwarves had so kind of beef with the humans, which forced the dwarves to huddle up down here rather than up there. It was a normal reaction, since if soone didn’t want him there, Rael was sure he would either start a war or just move aside without any conflict.

If they chose the route without conflict, that would explain what they were doing here now.

And as expected, once one of the eldest dwarves, or rather, the one with the least hair on his head, heard this, he imdiately stepped up, hands behind his back as he stared at both Uriel and Solenne arrogantly.

"You say you can improve our craft. But you’re rely human. Rather, you’re humans who were cast aside by your own race. If your race doesn’t want you, why would we want you?"

Solenne scoffed. "You were cast aside by the whole world, so what’s the difference? We’re all outcasts, so just let us in here. If you don’t, then we’ll just have to leave and look elsewhere. It’s not like you’re the only dwarves who live around here. Isn’t that right?"
