As the red water creature enveloped the city lord's arm and he suddenly felt a sharp pain in it.
It is not a piercing pain of a stab, and definitely not the pain of his flesh torn apart. It is a very different kind of pain that he has never felt.
There is also sothing else that made his mood go from solemn to fear.
Because the pain ca from his blood being sucked out of his skin and pores. There is a faint red spotted pattern on it and before his eyes, the red creature recovered at a visible rate.
"What the fuck is this?"
He cursed out loud with a shivering voice. The voice was quaking with fear and the subordinates in the surrounding area stopped what they are doing for a second, only to see the red water creature envelop the city and started sucking his blood.
Except for the face of the city lord, every part of his skin is releasing blood as the red water moved all over his skin.
He felt like he is being pierced with needles from the inside out.
He couldn't even scream out loud as he swallowed the red water and filled his own lungs quickening the whole process.
The other water creatures imdiately, went and destroyed the distracted subordinates and caught hold of their deadbodies as they ran towards the sea.
"Don't let them escape. We can't let them humiliate us like this."
One of the righteous soldiers scread and ran towards the water creatures that are escaping with deadbodies.
That left his back wide open for other creatures and he never ca back. In his last second, all he saw is his fellow soldiers retreating deeper, not willing to get entangled along with him.
His dead body was also dragged by the rest of the creatures.
So creatures died in the battle and exploded. The glowing substance penetrated into the skins of the soldiers in the surroundings.
The rest of the creatures that are completely fine picked a dead body each and ran towards the sea once again and the city lord is also taken away just like that.
The rest of the people imdiately retreated. No one wanted to fight the creatures to death with their leader gone.
The deputy who is next in command is also quivering behind the city walls while his superior was taken away.
He was actually looking forward to the day when his superior died, but that day, he really wished that guy was alive that day. He doesn't want to face whatever the situation was in front of him.
The soldiers that retreated inside started approaching the Deputy.
But he is not responding to them.

The city lord went silent and asked.

"Yes."

The deputy was dumbfounded, he doesn't even know what to say.
"I don't know anything about it sir. The fight last night was very weird and unnatural. We were caught off guard by these weird creatures and the trouble went out of hand when the city lord died.

You need to avert whatever this problem is no matter what."

The deputy left the room and soon he was t with the commander of the city.
Both of them travelled back at full speed.
They arrived at the port city by afternoon.
The city is as peaceful as ever.
There is not a single sign of attack from last night as the people already cleaned it up.
The blue creatures and red creatures didn't show up again and neither did the sea beasts.
The commander went to the port where the attack happened by himself as he checked the surroundings.
He is an Initial stage Consummate cultivator. He is not afraid of whatever killed the city lord, since he heard from the Deputy's report that it took a lot of effort from the red creature.
After checking that there are no signs of these creatures, he went back to the city and started questioning people.
One of the port workers had a rather perfect image of what happened and explained everything to him.
"So, you are saying that creatures that have a glowing inner structure covered with dark blue gel-like bodies with no faces whatsoever ca out of the sea by themselves and attacked everyone randomly before they went back into the city along with the corpses?"
"Yes, that is exactly what happened?"
"Are you sure they are not so people in disguise?"
"I am sure sir. Because the beach guards actually killed one and it exploded in their faces."
"Are there any other triggers when they ca? The environntal conditions?"
"No, Sir. I cannot think of any. Everything is perfectly normal."
The commander investigated along these lines, while Philip made the next move.
The sea in the surroundings is riddled with these blue creatures and now with his commands, they started moving in a different direction.
They swam to shore where it is connected to the river and entered the explosive stream.
They slowly started swimming upstream as they made their way through the river that is flowing through the forest.
