1786 Kumar’s Deal
Sam followed him. But he made sure that he kept his distance.
Kumar is way too familiar with Sam, if he was discovered then things might turn in a direction he didn’t want them to. There is one thing he is sure of. Kumar must be visiting the Magman clan because of his task.
And he managed to get the information for that task, he will get a lot of information about Magman as well.
Kumar was stopped at the gate of the clan by the guards.
They spoke sothing and the guard went inside. Sam thought of sothing and let the shadow follow the guard.
He would have done this anyway, but he would have had all the guards marked to get the information inside.
But now, he has a marked guard that will definitely have so valuable information. Kumar waited patiently outside and so did Sam.
After around ten minutes, the guard ca back and said sothing to Kumar. This made his eyes light up as Kumar was escorted inside.
The shadow ca back to Sam to relay the information.
.....
A smile crept on his face as he understood what is happening.
One more ti, things are kind of falling in his favor. It seems like Kumar’s mission is kind of related to Sam’s mission. Kumar went to et with the young master Baryn right now who happened to be Sam’s next target.
He doesn’t know what thod Kumar used to get a eting with him so fast, but whatever it is, Sam will be able to make use of it to get close to this target.
While Sam is thinking of ways to make use of this situation, inside the Magman clan grounds.
Kumar is sitting across from Baryn in a room.
Baryn coldly looked at Kumar and said.
“Before you speak, let tell you one thing. Your life will depend on what you speak and how you speak to . The matter you brought up is not sothing a single person like you can afford to play around with.”
“Don’t worry. I know what I am dealing with here and fully knowing the strength of your clan, I can assure you, the claim I made will surely happen.”
“No, before even discussing the claim, let ask you a question. How do you know about the child in my clan?”
“It is not exactly a well-kept secret. With twenty-five clans grinding at each other. It is almost a given that so information will leak out.”
“Now, who is it that is going to take my child away from my clan?”
“I cannot give you full details without reaching a commitnt. All I can tell you is that the person that might be targeting you is very smart. Smarter than any person you ever co across. He is resourceful enough to buy off your clan a dozen tis over and on top of it all, his abilities to kill and destroy are second to none.
In fact, anyone who ca across him wouldn’t dare to claim the first place if he claims that he is second at killing soone.”
“Really? How co I never heard of a person like that? What kind of cultivation does he have?”
“Sa as .”
“So, I am supposed to believe that an Astral Plane Cultivator is going to kill and the rest of my clan including my father before kidnapping our clan’s kid. Tell , my friend. Doesn’t that sound ridiculous?”
“Not when we are talking about the person that I ntioned right now.”
Baryn chuckled and he revealed a hint of killing intent.
Kumar just smiled and he released his own aura. He focused all of his killing intent on Baryn. This made the latter a bit shocked.
After all, Kumar is currently in the middle of the Magman clan. It would be nothing short of suicidal for him to attack Baryn right now.
“I know what you are thinking. But trust , if you make a move on , not only will I kill you, I will also escape this place unscathed.
Not even all of your clan’s defense and even your father combined would be able to stop from escaping.
In fact, I am confident that if properly planned, I would be able to take away the child from your clan and you wouldn’t be able to do shit to . But even I wouldn’t dream of taking a jar of wine from the hands of the person I ntioned.
Think carefully about my proposal. You have two hours. I will be waiting in the inn outside.”
Kumar stood up and was about to leave the room. But a middle-aged man already appeared at the entrance.
The man looked at Kumar and said.
“Where do you think you are going, young friend? You are not thinking that you can leave after threatening my nephew right in the middle of my clan, are you?”
The middle-aged man is very strong. He is also at the peak of the Astral Plane.
Kumar smiled and turned to Baryn.
“This is perfect. You will know what you are dealing with here.”
As he spoke, the middle-aged man made his move. He took out a sword and tried to cut Kumar.
But Kumar didn’t even turn around and extended his hand before stopping the swing of the sword with just two fingers.
The sword blade was stuck in between those two fingers and the middle-aged man wasn’t even able to take it out no matter how much he tried.
“You guys are dealing with sothing way out of your league. You might think twenty-five clans fighting together for seven children is a big deal. Imagine a single guy trampling over these twenty-five clans without even getting a scratch on his body.
That is the scale of things right now. You would be pretty stupid to ignore my proposal.”
As he said, he used another hand to jab at the middle-aged man.
The strike sent the man flying while his sword was still left in Kumar’s hands.
The man went through the entrances and flew across the corridor he was launched horizontally through a cannon and hit the wall all the way across.
Kumar played with the sword as he walked and stabbed it in the hallway before walking out of the clan.
Baryn didn’t co out of his daze for over ten minutes.
Sam followed Kumar back to the inn and this ti, he used a very different thod to spy on him. This also belonged to the new technique he developed.
He is going to use the insect puppets that he regularly uses to spy on people. But this ti it is not going to do it in a straightforward manner.
Sam tinkered with the formations of the inn. There is a central formation that is connected to the individual formations of each room. These formations eliminate all the sound coming from a room to preserve their privacy.
With Sam’s tinkering, the formation in Kumar’s room is going to act a little bit differently. The insect puppet that he released, didn’t go out of its way to spy on Kumar, instead, Sam controlled it remotely and spread the consciousness of the puppet to connect with the room formation externally.
Now the formation will work just like usual, but Sam would be able to listen to whatever conversation that is happening inside that room through that puppet.
Of course, it will take a lot of him to do that. But Kumar is very aware of Sam’s usual thods. There is no way, it would go unnoticed if Sam actually used his regular thods here.
In fact, Sam is also wary of using this thod too. But he guessed that Kumar wouldn’t be too vigilant to micromanage and suspect everything at this mont. After all, this mission only started the day before.
Sam closed his eyes and put all of his focus on Kumar. Only after an hour and a half did he find sothing.
He heard a voice from Kumar’s room.
“Sir, the young master from Magman Clan ca to visit you.” An attendant ca and inford Kumar.
“Tell him to co here.”
As if on cue, the attendant has pushed away and Baryn stepped into the room.
“I am already here. I considered your proposal and I want to discuss it further.”
“Sure. What do you want to discuss?”
“What is the na of the person that you are ntioning constantly.”
“I am not going to reveal the na until the cooperation is sealed.”
“Sure. But you should reveal as soon as we reach an agreent.”
“Okay. What else do you want to ask?”
“I have a lot of questions…”
Sam heard as the young master blabbered on and on with a bunch of questions big and small. Kumar sighed but answered all of them carefully. Only after all of this did they finally co to an agreent.”
“The person I am talking about is called Sam.”
“How do you know that he is going to co for us? And why are you willing to help us regarding this matter?”
“It was a mission assigned to by my master. He is from a higher realm and he is also a follower of God Loki. He obtained information that Sam is coming after the children your clans are keeping and he asked to co and make sure the child doesn’t leave the clan.”
“It is hard to take your word for it. How about we sign a soul contract?”
“Of course, I have no objections to that. In fact, I was about to suggest one myself.”
