Sam left the room and soon he got another signal from a cube.
Another group of humans are in trouble. He used the spatial elent to disappear from there. anwhile, Mitra stayed back in the eting.
"What the fuck is that bastard thinking? Who does he think he is? Acting like he is all that?"
One of them clearly explained their discontent.
"If you guys really have sothing to talk, let's talk, but if you don't, please let go as well. The giants are formidable enemies and Sam really enjoys killing them. I am participating in this war with the hope of contributing to humans, and with him taking all of it, I won't be able to do that."
Mitra said as he stretched his hands.
Mitra is already known as the carefree young master that doesn't give two shits to the people. So, when he talked like that, no one was surprised.
The eting went on after his rebuke. Everyone stayed on topic as they suggested various things, but everyone has one common point.
They wall want to use one or the other of Sam's techniques.
So after his surveillance, so are after his information gathering, so are after the cubes he gave out and so after the pills, so even ca after the Dinsional drifter thinking as if they could manufacture it themselves.
And they all used the sa excuse. Since Sam is a human, in these desperate tis, he should be ready to give up so of his things. He cannot just selfishly hoard all of his wealth.
Mitra couldn't bear it any more.
"Fuck off, all of you."
He showed his middle finger and ca out of the room. He looked around the camp and looked a specific tent. He directly went there and caught a hold of a young man by his throat, before dragging him away to a secluded corner.
"I am going to ask you one question and one question only. You better answer is properly, or I would shove an Iron spike in your 'you know where'."
The young man already had a timid expression to begin with, as soon as he heard those words, he imdiately placed both of his hands on his buttocks.
"Ask.. Ask away."
"Why are all the captains and leaders asking for Sam's things when they shouldn't even know that he is in possession of such things?"
"Y.. Your brother contacted and gave out all the information. He said that you gave the information in your reports from your ti at the Five Cities, so he gave away the information from those reports and asked everyone to reap all of those things from him.
He didn't even want anything in exchange."
"And all of you fuckers just agreed to this?"
Mitra threw the guy away and walked to his tent.
From the guards, he learned that Sam went to rescue another squad and this ti, he managed to rescue more than thirty people alone. He even killed more than forty giants on his own. And from these giants, he managed to gather so specific information.
The information about the whereabouts of the missing human squads.
After going through the mories of a few people, he got a better idea of the situation. These giants knew that the forest is helping them, but they don't know why or how. They just knew that whenever the humans are in the forest, they are being trapped and the giants are even being directed by the forest to those specific locations.
That is why, they used these special plans.
They captured a few squads and gathered their tokens that could send the rescue signals. At so points that they are confident in, they are showing those rescue signals, attracting a lot more people from the humans.
The forest is capturing them.
Then the giants are going there either to kill them or capture them.
The cycle is repeating itself and it seems like even the forest that is helping them is understanding their plans and it didn't just directly trap the squads that ca for the rescue.
They are only trapped after they reached the spot where the rescue signal ca from.
Sam smirked at this information.
As for the captured people, they were held at different hiding spots of the giants. These humans are actually being used to gather information, as bait and of course, even getting access to so of the resource points of the humans.
One of the main reasons the defenses opened up on both the western and eastern fronts is because these people couldn't take the torture of the giants and constantly gave away their secrets and plans.
This is indeed a clever tactic.
The only flaw is that the giants are too blindly reliant on the forest. They didn't know how this fortune fell on their laps and they didn't know who is controlling behind the scenes, but they just wanted to enjoy its benefits and they are extrely trusting of it.
What if, it turns around and bites them in the back?
They never bothered to think to that point and Sam would be a fool if he didn't take advantage of that and everyone knows he is far from being a fool.
He locked on to the hideout where the humans are hidden. He decided to first poke so holes into these Giant nests.
He went back to the camp and inford Mitra about his findings.
"Let's not report it to the camp. We will just go by ourselves and rescue the humans. The whole camp is fucking against us at this point." Mitra replied and got ready to leave.
"Seems like I missed an amusing eting."
Mitra didn't even bother to reply, he just ca out of the tent and got on his beast to make his move.
"Alright, let's go."
Both of them traveled through the forest first. So of the captains felt a bit suspicious about their movents. All this while, Sam and Mitra traveled using spatial energy. They never walked into the camp normally.
So, they are a bit curious and decided to tail them.
Only, it is easy to think of it but very hard to implent.
Sam easily lost them and went to the hiding spot.
The hiding spot is actually far away from the forest they are in.
The Giants' main camp is beyond the forest and the hiding spot is beyond that main camp. It is in a rocky terrain deep inside a cave.
"Forty-Five Giants to kill and sixty humans to rescue. What is the plan?" Mitra asked as he looked at the crystal tablet.
"No, we put in so much effort to get to this hiding spot, there is no way I am just going to kill forty-five giants and be done with it. I have a very special plan. Let's do that. And the first step is that I need a distraction.
Go ahead and attract so aggression from them."
Mitra nodded and left his hiding instantly.
He flew into the air and gathered divine energy into his fist, before punching the air towards the cave.
*BOOM*
With an explosive sound, the cave's roof was blasted open as a bunch of giants were revealed. They all looked at Mitra and imdiately activated their true forms.
The level of the captured humans in this hiding camp is pretty low and for that reason, the level of the giants is also not that high.
They are stronger than their captors, but they are definitely not stronger than Mitra.
But of course, Mitra also didn't kill them all. He is already tired of Sam complaining about his kill count, he decided to just let him kill these people.
All the giants ca out and fought with Mitra. Various elents flashed across the sky, anwhile, Sam activated his shadow fusion and rged into the shadows as he approached all the captured humans.
He fed them so pills and released their restraints.
He even placed a lot of formation discs all over the area.
"I am done."
He sent a ssage to Mitra after ten minutes.
Mitra went from full defensive to slightly offensive and collapsed a bunch of giants to the ground.
Sam took the chance and started his killing spree as he moved around on the harbinger.
Only one giant was spared among the whole group.
The rest were all taken away and Sam even absorbed their mories.
He looked at the giant in front of him. He is part of the Chaos giant tribe.
Of course, his actual elents are fire and earth. A pretty common combination. But his giant bloodline is actually not that poor.
Sam looked at him carefully for a second and asked.
"Is the rescue signal for help sent to your camp?"
"No, it all happened too fast and at first, we thought we had a chance. Tables turned too quickly."
Sam took out the reaper sword and put it on the giant's throat.
"I know you value your life more than your faction or tribe, so contact the rescue team and tell them exactly what I tell you to. If there is even a single letter extra or a single word less, I will torture your soul until even Hades is afraid of accepting it in."
