The next day.
Sam is back in the Olympian region. He ca back the night before, but he stayed in the room alone ruminating over the business deals he made with Joran. Ivar has underestimated Joran too much. That man might be a good judge of battle prowess, but he is definitely not good at spotting these kinds of mind gas and tricks.
Sam felt that the deals with Joran might speed up his plan.
As for why? He doesn't know it himself. It was just pure instinct after noticing the city.
With those thoughts he rested the night and now in the morning, he walked to the Dionysus academy with a faint smile and a relaxed posture. With his hands in his pockets, one might mistake him for a person going on a walk into the park.
Sam reached the Dean's office and inford his reason of arrival to the assistant.
"You finished the quest?" "You finished the qust?" That's all the assistant said. That was all he was able to say. He had his mouth wide open as he walked into the office and inford the dean about it.
Fifteen minutes later.
"What the hell? You finished the quest."
The Dean looked at the crystal bottle full of Illuthralith's blood. It was much purer, stronger and potent than the blood of Illutrhralith the pocket dinsion hosted.
"Where did you get it?" The Dean asked.
"How is that relevant?" Sam asked.
Dean was caught off guard and then only he realized that he wasn't supposed to ask that question. IT doesn't matter where Sam got it from. Since he got it, the quest should be over. But he cannot just stare at Sam like a dumb idiot and say that he asked just for he sake of it.
As for admitting that he forgot, there is no way, he is doing that.
So, he found sothing and clutched on to it.
"What if you just stole it from soone? What if you just bought it?"
"What if I did exactly as you said? What is the point of it. You and I both know that it doesn't matter where I got it from.
Please start the procedures and finish this whole fiasco. I have a pocket dinsion to attend."
Sam left after that.
That was all he wanted to do. Submit the blood. The next day, the trials of the Zeus Academy started. Initially, the cases were not that many, but after the recent filings, they numbered in hundreds for every single one of them and the first ones to have their trials are the freshn.
Not any freshn, but the freshn that belonged to the noble league.
Sam attended the trials as the spectator. But no one paid much attention to him during the trial proceedings. Most of the stands were occupied by the Zeus Academy mbers and they were all panicking.
They wanted to see what fate awaited them. And they saw it.
Icarus argued the trial himself. His argunt was eerily similar to what the Captain of the city guard made against Sam. And finally he forced the judge to accept the situation and a verdict has been given.
The student of the Zeus Academy has been subjected to the punishnt of 12 labors and on top of that, since he belongs to one of the Academies that was supposed to give out the trial, which is the Zeus Academy, that twelfth labor will be given by the Gambler Academy instead, to avoid any bias.
The verdict has been passed and most spectators froze in their seats.
They knew that they just saw their own future. The twelve labors.
They knew that these are not the actual twelve labors the Heracles faced, but that doesn't an, these are easy for them. All they could do is pray. And these prayers turned into curses when they saw one scene.
After the trial is finished, Sam walked to Icarus and in front of all their shocked gazes, he fist bumped with Icarus as both of them walked away.
Many of them already had suspicions regarding the connection between them. When Icarus used the sa pattern while filing cases, there were many people who made this connection, but now they were confird.
But what is this connection exactly?
Is that connection between Sam and the hub? Or Sam and Icarus only?
Once again, no answers though. Only questions.
For the next few days, the Zeus Academy has been sending their students for the trials in the court. anwhile, the Olympian region has beco more and more chaotic. The search for flaming skulls has reached its zenith.
At first, Sam wanted to play around with Dayus a bit more. After all, dayus made such an elaborate sketch. But he gave up the idea, when he saw the result of his own actions.
The legacy inheritance has much more appeal than he initially estimated. Particularly, after he spread the information in other regions, all academies went crazy. There is a massive influx of people into the city and they are all creating one problem after another for the city guards.
There is at least one murder for every couple of hours.
Constant fights, stealing, destruction of bars and restaurants in the na of their search for flaming skulls, even Dayus' own investigation beca stagnant like a pool of mud because of this. And he only grew more and more anxious with every passing day. After all, fourteen days and there is no more legacy inheritance.
But what he doesn't know is even though Sam and his team has it in their possession, they weren't trying to assimilate the inheritance. The legacy inheritance is of fire elent. Five Elental King and Philip, both have affinity with it. But neither of them showed any interest in absorbing the inheritance. Both of them pushed the other to take it.
So, right now it is just lying in the Divine dinsion without anyone to claim.
Sam is actually surprised by how interested his friends are regarding this. He expected at least so enthusiasm, but they were completely averse to this. If only the rest of the academy realm knew what they were doing.
He wondered if they would gain more ire from stealing the inheritance or for refusing to absorb it.
The excess activity of the other regions of course bothered the academies more than Sam and his friends.
While things were like this, leading up to the second pocket dinsion, Dayus and White were on an exhaustive search for the Flaming skulls. And they were using a very unique thod. The energy signatures.
That was what they did before everyone could leave the grey area while the rewards are being distributed for the last pocket dinsion.
Dayus and White registered the energy signatures of all the people that were in that pocket dinsion and they started tracking all those people. There was a continuous twenty four hour tail on them to observe all of their actions.
Whenever there is a suspicion on soone, particularly if they are just a common citizen without any backing, they were tracked, nailed and beaten down until every last thing about them was brought out.
Most were directly killed and their souls were absorbed to search through their mories. Unfortunately for them, they were the wrong targets. Dayus and White don't have any other way to know that information other than attacking them.
And as expected, the more failed searches happened, the more frustrated they have beco. Soon, their moods beca unbearable and even the slightest disturbance provoked them to the extre. At least it was the case for Dayus.
Soon it is ti for the second pocket dinsion.
Unlike the first one, this one is limited to the Academy students, which caused a lot of discontent among the citizens, but they could little about it. The pocket dinsion rules were set by the god who created it.
The academies don't have any control even if they desire it.
This pocket dinsion was created by Hers.
This pocket dinsion was very similar to the first one, except in this one people don't have to fight against elental creatures as such.
Instead, they need to clear zones.
Each zone will have a different layout and different problem, but most of them if not all are related to the wind and wind elent.
When a person clears a zone, they would have a mark on their hand. There are hundreds of such zones in the pocket dinsion, big and small. Each zone has a different score based on the timing and the thod of completion.
The mark given for a zone will depend of these aspects and based on that mark the final score will be calculated.
As usual, the highest score will be given the reward.
Sam doesn't know which special zones are going to give him those special rewards. He once again will have to do the research. Of course, this ti he has a bunch of other players to trouble Dayus, so even if he doesn't get anything out of it, things will work out in his favor.
But what is fun in not winning?
