2143 Boiling Olympian Region
The news of the bar room massacre spread throughout the region.
However, no one knows who did it, no one knows what was the reason behind it. The only thing they knew is that all the bodies lost the spatial rings on them. If not for the grueso massacre, they would have mistaken it for a robbery.
But who would tell them, that it is actually a robbery.
Similar incidents happened that night at various spots, but the scale is much smaller. And it wasn't limited to just the Olympian region. Starting from Icarus and Ivar, the rest of the exchange centers are soon closed.
They are all busy trying to appraise all the things Sam dumped on them.
So, the crisis is approaching in all the cities and finally Christos who initially thought nothing of the issue, took note of it.
He imdiately contacted the head of the city guard.
"What do you want? Last ti I checked, your academy mbers are pretty furious with for dealing with Sam, the way I did. You wanted nothing to do with ever again." The captain said with a smirk.
The Zeus Academy people are indeed furious as the captain said. At first, they collaborated with the captain to bring Sam to the trial. Then they wanted to use the twelve labors as an excuse to make him suffer.
But it backfired big ti.
With Sam's case as precedence, Icarus is making them taste their own bitter dicine. Of course, as usual, they beca allergic to accountability and pushed it all on to the captain who actually did his freaking job for once.
"I wanted to talk to you about the bar room massacre. Do you have any clues about the culprit?" Christos asked.
"I don't. I just took over the case. Why, what do you need?"
"The Dean warned about sothing and I believe this has sothing to do with that. Can you keep in the loop about this case? Also, can you make the exchange center open? The situation might get out of hand because of this."
"About the case, yeah, maybe I can. But the exchange center. You might not know this, but the Academy realm hierarchy clearly shows that even the receptionist of the exchange center has a higher rank than .
Just because they are not getting involved in the every day shit, doesn't an they don't have the ans to.
If the exchange center says that they are closed, then they are closed."
Christos sighed. Things are not really looking good for him. He should have acted imdiately after the Dean's warning. But still, he mobilized his troops right after.
He spread them all over the city and kept an eye on every place where a cri can be done easily. He doesn't know what he wants to achieve with this. Maybe the safety and security of the Academy students and their properties. That is the most he could hope for.
But too bad, what he doesn't know is that many people under him are having so really dark thoughts.
He then went to talk with several elders of the Academy. He needs soone to make the Gambler academy start the ransom talks. The academy war is still going on and every day at least one territory of theirs is being subjugated.
The captives are increasing.
He needs a solution for this, because the families that are part of the noble league are putting pressure on him.
After so ti, he ca to a conclusion. He needs soone in the position of the Dean urgently. Only they can get these students out. And there are only two ways a Dean could appear.
One is Icarus' disappearance and another one is appearance of a completely new Dean.
He decided to move in two fronts.
He ordered the Seniors to make a move on Icarus that very night. To their delight, they also got so intel from god knows where that Icarus is about to dine in Nalan's restaurant that night.
After issuing the order, he went to et so of the representatives from the Noble league families.
"I want to propose to the admission of a New Dean for the Zeus Academy. Even if it is a temporary admission, unless there is a Dean, the Gambler academy will not budge."
There are a bunch of middle-age looking people sitting in the room along with him. They all stayed silent and looked at him. Waiting for him to continue.
"Right now, there are three candidates that we can make use of.
One is the Deputy Dean Karnik. He is the graduate from the sa batch as the current Dean. He has great enough reputation and when the current Dean was being appointed, he competed with him. In process, he joined hands with several Noble league families.
Even though he didn't win, he still maintained the alliance. I am sure, many of you people here have an impression of him.
The second candidate is the Grand Elder Narc. He is an expert in combat, and dicine making. He is also a poison expert. He is the strongest of the three candidates that I am proposing. He is the junior of the current Dean and is also very loyal. Whenever Dean wants soone to do so behind the scenes work, he is the go to.
In a way, Narc knows more about the operations of the academy than Karnik.
The third one, an Elder nad Miva. The Female elder that is known to be the most dangerous in the Zeus Academy because of her underhanded ans. No one knows where her force is located, but whenever she wants sothing, her force gets it."
He finished explaining their profiles and waited for them to speak.
"Why are there only three candidates? Why are so candidates isolated from this list?"
One of the Elders spoke and christos imdiately understood why he spoke those words.
Noble league has one goal and that is to make the Zeus Academy truly theirs and the most important thing in that endeavor is to make one of their own into the most authoritative figure. For that reason, the noble league grooms candidates that are suitable to take over the Dean's position.
These three are also part of those candidates. However, even in the Noble league, there is so power struggle and for that reason, every candidate obviously leans towards one family or a faction or the other.
And this elder pointed this out because the candidate selected by his family is not there.
"These three elders are the only ones that have the least chance to being prosecuted by the judicial proceedings.
The plan hatched by the Icarus has not effected these three and that is why they are the only three viable candidates."
"So, the Dean Steel Plate is finally becoming just Mad man Steel Plate. Just like old tis."
For this, Christos didn't have any response. Steel Plate is a nick na given to the Dean. Because before he was in power, everyone did whatever they wanted. The corruption in the Zeus Academy and even other academies is way too high.
But once he ca, all the corrupt people finally kicked a thick steel plate. Of course, his steel plate like ntality was there before that as well and at that ti, he used to be called Mad Man steel plate and after the Dean's position was taken over by him, he beca Dean Steel Plate."
They discussed a few more details and adjourned the decision for now.
Christos knew that there is no use in making them decide right there. Now they will approach the three candidates in secret and then make a decision.
He just decided to move on to a more pressing topic.
"We are in a dire need of coins right now. The exchange center is closed for so reason and the contract with the Hub is going to be a big trouble to a lot of people. At first, I thought it is not much of a big deal.
Because most students from the noble league have an abundance of the coins. The strategy of the Noble league that I implented to farm coins worked well and we can go by for a couple of months.
But the problem is the rest of the region will be in a chaotic state because of them. A massacre has taken place recently just for this reason…
They went on discuss the issues. There are many argunts. So said, they should take action against the Hub because of the suspicious nature of the request, so said they should make a deal… blah..blah…blah.
While the Olympian region is boiling in the flas he created, Sam is currently in the middle of executing another beautiful plan that will move things faster on the Thalassa's front. After all, those families conspired against him and he has yet to payback in a significant scale. His hands are itching and he just found a perfect way to make so damage.
