The stage that usually used for the academy tournants was set up for the academy wager.
Even though they are team battles, both sides decided to just hold them on the stage directly. Since the stage is big enough, even if they fought there as a group, it won't end up like so brawl. The first match was about to begin.
Sam and Stone sat in the spectator stands at various spots.
The seats around both of them were empty. None of the people wanted to associate with either of them. On the stage, two groups of people stood on the either side. Each group consisted of five people.
One side is of the ho team, the Zeus academy.
Dayus who couldn't control his fury was the first step up leading a team. The other four mbers are from his very team.
On the other side, Donner stood with four mbers from the Thor Academy. Sam recognized all of them. They are the participants in the Freshn tournant.
The battle is pretty evenly matched in Sam's opinion. Even though he just fought Donner a couple of tis and kicked his ass, he does have a couple of tricks up his sleeve and could put up a decent fight against Dayus.
Soon the referee signaled the start of the fight.
*BOOM*
An explosive start.
All ten people moved imdiately. Even though it was said to be a team battle, it imdiately turned into five individual duels.
Donner lunged forward with the lightning covered war hamr in his hands.
*BANG*
A straight swing. There seed to be no technique or so fancy trick involved. It is a combination of pure raw physical power and the destructive nature of lightning.
At least, that is what it looked like at the first glance.
*BANG*
Dayus blocked the hamr strike with his spear shaft. Holding it up horizontally against the hamr.
*BOOM* The blue lightning and purple lighting clashed. Both of their strengths were evenly matched.
Dayus gritted his teeth and kicked the ground underneath him. The stage cracked as he pushed Donner off and swung his spear.
*SWOOSH*
Ripping thorugh the air, the spear strike was aid Donner's throat, but it was cleanly blocked by his hamr.
*BANG*
The hamr hit the spear making it lodge into the stage. Donner lunged forward and stepped on the spear to jump high before coming down with the hamr strike.
Dayus didn't even have a change in his expression as he swung his spear upwards trying to hit Donner on his legs. His aim was to change the trajectory of the attack and it worked. The hit gave Donner too much boost and he flew higher than he wanted.
As he tried to control himself, Dayus appeared behind him and tried to stab the spear in his back.
Donner turned around in the air and swung his hamr sideways.
The spear brushed past Donner's arm, while the hamr….
*BANG*
It hit squarely on Dayus' arm from the side.
The impact was clean and everyone thought that dayus might fly in the air like a broken kite. Even he felt that and regretted charging to take the opportunity of stabbing soone in the back. It was such a wide and clean back, he couldn't control himself and tried to plant his spear there.
However, Donner anticipated it, in fact he set it up for that exact scenario. Only when Dayus felt the hit on his shoulder did he realize that.
But he was even more surprised by the lack of force pushing him away. The hit was clean, but he didn't feel any pain in that instant.
He landed on the ground and took a step back.
He frowned as he looked at Donner who is already charging at him.
That hit… even though it didn't hurt, it made him feel a bit suspicious. However, he couldn't just stand there and examine it. He can only charge forward.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
The sound of tal hitting tal accompanied the sound of thunder and lightning. The blue lightning an purple lightning and increasing in their intensity. Donner was on a total kamikaze mode as he almost gave his body up for getting clean hits on Dayus.
At first, Dayus was a bit worried, however whenever Donner hit him, he is not feeling any pain. All he felt was so kind of numb sensation in his body for a mont and it is back to normal again. He knew that sothing is wrong with this and he felt like Donner was plotting sothing.
The fact that he wasn't able to find what is happening to him made him enraged.
As Donner watched his face slowly turn into a scowl, he couldn't help but let out a smirk. Dayus is just too easy to read and understand. This guy… the day that he can control his own character, is the day he will have a chance of so success.
Donner thought to himself as he suddenly took a step back.
His body suddenly changed. Partial fusion was activated as he lunged forward once again. His hamr strike coming down as if it was there to subject Dayus to divine judgnt of lightning.
He gritted his teeth and activated partial fusion as well.
*BOOM*
At that mont as the purple lightning manifested on his body, he felt a weird numbing sensation at several spots on his body. The sa numbing feeling that he felt whenever Donner hit him. But much more intense and powerful than before.
He frowned as he felt his fusion process slow down a bit. However, he couldn't take his ti to think.
*BANG * *BOOM*
An explosive hit from the above. He barely blocked it with the spear, however he still felt the stage underneath his feet sink a bit. The stage cracked again.
Before Dayus could recover, Donner kept on hitting.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
He was acting like a boorish man trying to breakdown a rock on a mountain. The hamr strikes all landed at a single point. When Dayus had enough and prepared to just move even at the risk of slight injury.
*BANG*
The hamr strike landed and…
*URGH*
He felt his arm hurt terribly. It was the exact sa spot where Donner landed his first hit.
Dayus imdiately closed his eyes and concentrated his focus on that one spot.
He could sense a condensed ball of of blue lighting spreading wildly in that area.
Before he could eliminate it.
*BANG*
Another hit and this ti a different area in his body lit up with that blue colored lightning, the first spot was cleared of it all.
Dayus was stunned.
*BANG*
And this ti physically as well. Because the lightning this ti appeared in his head targeting his brain.
His thought process halted for a bit. He couldn't think of anything and he lost control of his body for a mont.
Donner noticed this and didn't let this chance go.
*BANG* *BANG* *BANG*
The hamr swung like crazy as the hits landed on the head and the two shoudlers.
Dayus didn't even feel his hands go down. His head is also wide open now for another hit.
Donner gritted his teeth as he swung his hamr to hit him in the face.
"FUCKING BASTARD"
Dayus scread. Purple lightning ca out of his body like a million lightning snakes as he activated complete fusion. The surrounding tiles on the stage were obliterated.
On his body several lumps of blue lightning energy appeared. The energy that was left behind by Donner in a sneaky way with his barrage of attacks that didn't have any force.
The energy was passively compressed in the body and it even allowed for a smooth circulation without disturbing the regular flow of Dayus' body. However, they reacted when Donner willed them to. The hamr strikes are the trigger.
That is also the reason why Donner didn't bother executing so complicated fighting techniques. He fought like a brute most of the ti, since he had to focus on keeping that blue lightning in check.
It is not exactly a high level tactic. Donner is sure that it wouldn't work on other players at all. It only worked because it was Dayus.
Dayus is also of lighting elent and it is extrely similar to Donner's. It is easy to mask on his body when he is focused on the fight.
And it won't work again. It is a one ti trick. Donner is not worried though. He just needed it to work once.
His body surged with lightning as he activated his own fusion as well.
All his energy moved into his hamr as he struck at Dayus.
*BANG*
As Dayus blocked, all the residual blue lightning in his body reacted at the sa ti.
"FUCK"
He yelled in pain.
"NOW"
Donner yelled at his teammates to make a move.
All of a sudden, people who were tackling the Zeus academy mbers in the Duel stepped back. All of them had their fusions activated.
