Sam stood his ground after the initial jerk of the excessive gravity.
It is not sothing he cannot handle, he was caught off guard because of the way he fell into the room. Once he got his balance back, he looked around. The whole room looked squeaky clean.
Cleaner than its original state.
All the inscriptions are dissolved into the walls.
Sam activated his energy vision and looked around. The walls still looked clean, but when he looked at the ground and ceiling, he saw small portions of both glowing. The pattern of the glow is sa shape as the runes inscribed.
It seed like the other party didn't think too much and just believed that the inscriptions are hidden properly.
Sam took out his inscription pen again and first levitated to reach the ceiling.
As he placed the nib on the glowing inscription pattern, a few sparks rose.
*CRACKLE*
The sparks are close to brown in color, indicating the earth elent. Sam's hand glowed with earth elent as he forcefully drew on the wall.
*JOLT*
He took a small jerk of energy that ca out as recoil since he pushed through the already active inscription. But he didn't care. He anticipated it and was ready for it. So, he didn't take any damage. As soon as he made the changes he wanted, he hurriedly ca down.
*BOOM*
A small explosion occurred. It is not impactful enough. It just barely broke the surface of the ceiling. It didn't break it down completely.
But it did its job, the inscription is no longer working. However, Sam felt the effects of other inscriptions.
He could feel those effects. The air inside is heating up. The energy around his has thinned, and he could feel so invisible force attacking his mind.
But Sam ignored them and worked on the second gravity inscription which is still active on the floor.
*BOOM*
Another explosion resulted in a few more inscriptions getting active. Sam took a step forward to examine one of them.
*BOOM*
A fire ball ca out from a corner. He dodged it and expected it to hit the other ide of the room, but it didn't. Instead, it went past him, took a turn and ca back.
Sam dodged to the side and stepped on sothing else.
*BOOM*
Another fire ball out of a different corner. Sam dodged them and looked at the corners with his energy vision. There is a small array of inscriptions active, controlling the fire balls. *SWOOSH*
He dashed to the corner and used fire elent on his pen.
*BUZZ*
He placed the pen at a certain point stopping the inscription's functions. The fire ball that was about to hit him, stopped a couple of inches away from him.
Sam slipped down to avoid the second fire ball that is already there. He jumped to the other corner and paused this fire ball as well.
He then examined the ground once again. He believed his position on the ground is what triggered these corner inscriptions. So, he is searching for a pattern.
It didn't take long to find one. Judging from the two spots that he stepped on to trigger the traps in the corners, he kind of guessed where the other triggers might be.
He activated the observation skill to confirm his speculations. Sam crouched down and started inscribing his own inscriptions.
It seed like there was a trigger set for this action as well, the four corners of the ceiling acted up and started throwing lightning bolts at him.
Sam hurriedly wrote sothing down and a barrier appeared on top of him, covering the trajectory of the lightning bolts.
In the next two minutes, he finished an inscription array on the ground and activated it. At that exact mont, he jumped away from that spot.
*BAM*
The four lightning bolts landed on that spot he was crouching at.
The inscription he laid down started glowing wildly before it exploded. Along with the explosion, it threw out of the four lightning bolts to different sides, destroying and triggering various inscriptions. However, at the sa ti, the area in which he laid down the inscription has exploded destroying all the inscriptions and triggers placed there.
Sam created another barrier to defend against the coming attacks and laid down another inscription similar to this.
The surroundings are changing. Ice spikes are coming from the walls, lightning bolts are charging at him, fire balls are coming, the floor is burning up, the energy is thinning. The ntal attacks are of course there since the start.
It's just that they are too weak to effect him.
All Sam needs to do is break this whole thing down and he is planning on doing it by using the inscriptions on the walls themselves.
He didn't know if it would take longer ti and make him lose his first position, but he didn't care. Its just fun this way and would be more helpful to his goals.
Looking at his playful body language and the ease at handling, people wondered if the Zeus academy candidate had actually been an idiot that gave an easy problem to the opponent. When they focused their gaze to look at that guy's performance, these thoughts only reinforced themselves.
Because the situation of Sam's opponent is completely opposite.
As soon as he landed, he was expecting so kind of initial jerky trap, much like the gravity one he has placed, but it wasn't there.
Instead, there is a circular spot in which there is no sign of inscriptions and that is where he fell. The rest of the room is filled with inscriptions visible to the naked eye.
At first glance, they looked like normal inscriptions and arrays, however with a little observation he noticed that sothing is seriously wrong with what's on the walls.
The runes appeared familiar and unfamiliar at the sa ti.
Much like how Sam felt when he saw the for the first ti in the Telchine territory.
However, unlike Sam who burned with curiosity to figure out how to crack them, this guy just felt like he lost his mind. He didn't know what is happening.
He touched the inscription closest to his feet gently to see if there is any trap or trigger, but nothing of that sort happened.
Only after thirty-seconds, as we watched blankly, sothing happened. A circle of runes around him glowed. It is a ring enveloping the circle that he is standing in. It also glowed with
such an ominous dark light, he beca anxious for a mont.
He scratched his neck as he started observing the ring that is glowing. The only thing he understood is that the ring is a single inscription.
He started scratching his arm as irritation crept in. The fact that he couldn't even figure out what is happening and what kind of inscription this is made him feel like an idiot.
At least, in a couple of seconds, he figured one of those questions. He realized that he is scratching all over his body, without even knowing.
There is one part of his hand, where he almost scratched the skin off.
He tried to stop, but he couldn't. If he left a spot on his skin without scratching, he felt like he would lose his mind, he dropped his inscription pen down and scratched vigorously. In just thirty seconds, there are several wounds on his body.
At that ti, the second circle glowed. It is equally ominous if not more.
He felt a burning feeling all over his body and it is more intense in the wounds that he inflicted on himself. But the itchy feeling didn't stop. In fact, it increased. He kept on scratching creating more wounds and feeling that intense burning pain. Another thirty-seconds later, the third circle lit up. Now, he felt a different sensation. Previously, his enhanced healing and regeneration that ca with his cultivation were trying
to reduce his wounds.
Now with the third circle it is gone.
Only then did he understand how much relief his natural regeneration has been providing
him. Once it is gone, the pain almost made him pass out. But he couldn't. He felt like so
force is making his mind stay active.
Then he felt another effect of the third circle.
Black vapor started seeping out of his wounds. They are becoming corroded with so
invisible energy.
Thirty seconds later.
His blood beca thinner and his heart race increased pumping it more and more.
He scread and rolled on the ground.
By now, the spectators who initially thought this guy is just an idiot because of his blank
expression are showing expressions of pity and the more experienced ones understood
sothing more.
"Sam... the ease he is handling the room, he can break out of it any ti he wants. He is just
passing ti." One of them muttered in a low voice.
The others also understood. There is only one reason they could think for Sam to just pass
so ti.
To torture his opponent more until he dies.
