The skeletal bird in front of Sam has red energy around it.
It seed like the other party might have fought with this creature and then escaped after realizing its regeneration. Then he or she might have encountered the minotaur and the person fighting the minotaur, which finally resulted in the current situation.
Sam dodged the coming bird for a couple of minutes as he organized his thoughts.
After that, he made a decisive move. He used the spatial blink to disappear from there. The Skeletal bird that wanted to tear him apart halted in mid-air and looked around in confusion. It started moving around in that area, but was unable to sense Sam.
After a couple of minutes, it halted once again and looked in one particular direction, before taking that route.
At the sa ti, in that sa direction. Sam appeared hundreds of ters away. He checked the surroundings for a mont, dropped a small tal node, let out two specters from his body and used the blink again.
The two specters moved in two different directions left and right. The undead environnt is also very suitable for them and they are a great way for him to cover a lot of area.
He travelled like that far fifteen minutes, dropping those small tal nodes and spreading those specters on his way.
He moved in a straight line and assigned a specific area for each of the specters.
In this path, he has encountered several competitors fighting with these weird undead creatures, he has seen so undead creatures kill these competitors and he was also attacked by a lot of them. But he only went with one goal.
To find crow and et him.
From all the information he gathered until now, the biggest threat is not the students in this competition. Rather, the undead creatures that are coming from all the different directions.
The undead creatures attacked them students and the students are not actually incompetent to defend against them right now.
But the more they fight, the more troubleso it will get. The creatures grow stronger and they multiply in number. The twenty-four hour ti limit... it has been a little more than half an hour since he ca and he already saw several creatures that multiplied.
And he is not sure if that is all there is to this place.
He tried to move in the straight line once again, but he wasn't able to. He hit a barrier. Which ans he is at the edge of the pocket dinsion.
So of his specters also moved to edges in either side. He believed he is covering more than half of the dinsion at the mont with these specters and the nodes.
After making sure that there is no other presence beside him, he closed his eyes and started sensing the locations of the nodes and the specters.
The nodes are placed in a straight line, until the original location of the skeletal bird. Beyond that Sam already marked the path until the giant skeleton's location. The nodes are going to act as stationary markers.
While the specters act as mobile markers.
They are moving in different directions and they are marking the locations where these undead creatures are. With these specters, they can easily leave a small part of themselves behind as markers.
Even though primary purpose is to search for Crow, the helped him map out most of the pocket dinsion. Once he has the markers in place, it is easy for him to travel in between and navigate the threats.
It might seem a bit excessive now, but he believed that soon this pocket dinsion will turn into a hell hole with sothing or the other threatening the students every passing mont.
After getting a sense of location for all the nodes and specters he left behind, he started the journey once again.
This ti, with a single blink he reappeared at the first node, a few hundred ters away from the original location of the skeletal bird.
At this mont, far away from Sam, a skeletal bird which is moving in a particular direction, halted in its tracks and turned around, before moving back in the sa straight line.
Sam started using blink again. He dropped the nodes and let the specters out. On his way, he saw an intense battle. The swordsman is entangled with two tree-n in the dead forest and at the sa ti, a minotaur is after him.
Sam sneakily left the place. Even though his presence was felt, they weren't able to pinpoint his location and they didn't have a chance to bother him.
He made a straight line until he reached the other end of the barrier.
By now, it is approximately an hour since the competition started. He split the pocket dinsion into two main parts with this straight line connected by these small marker nodes.
The specters are using his marker node as reference as each of them searched a pre-defined area on either side. Unless Crow is eliminated, he shouldn't have a problem finding him.
He also noticed that the edges are the safest at the mont. There are no signs of undead and also no signs of candidates. The sa goes for the edges on the remaining two sides.
It seed like the candidates were all sent into the middle part.
Sam kept on creating a map in his mind as he waited. About ten minutes later, he finally found Crow's location.
He seed to have just fought with a competitor and is running in a specific direction. Sam calculated his distance from the marker and then made the specter follow Crow. He disappeared from there and reappeared at the marker.
The specter already closed in on to Crow's location. Sam used the specter as a reference and did a long distance spatial blink.
Crow who was being chased by an undead creature.
He has fought with while dealing with a competitor who ambushed him. He killed the competitor by using the undead creature, but now it is coming after him.
At that mont, all of a sudden he sensed a spatial fluctuation beside him. Just when he thought he was being ambushed again, Sam appeared out of thin air.
*SWOOSH*
A spear flew out of his hand and struck the oncoming skeletal creature that looked like an elephant. The spear went straight into its head, cracking its skull open. Sam's arm tore off a bit and it bled.
He took a deep breath and healed himself, looking at crow.
"Let's go."
Sam took out a transference token and started modifying it a bit. Both of them disappeared from there and arrived at the edge where Sam was just a few monts ago.
Sam then gave a potion to Crow.
"I have my own stock." Crow replied and was about to pass it back to Sam.
"Mine are better."
Sam said as he landed on the ground and sat there. He rejoined the torn muscle fibers in his
arm and started drinking the wine to heal himself.
Crow also landed beside him and sat down. Catching so breathe.
"No threats around?"
"No. The edge of the pocket dinsion."
Sam said as he pointed at the invisible barrier. It just looked like a vast expanse of grey land is
behind it. He coined it up to being an illusion. A well made one.
"So, what's the plan?" Crow asked Sam.
"You tell . How do you want to proceed forward? If you want to go and roam the area trying
to fight them one by one, I advise against it. This place might appear safe for now, but I can't
even guarantee that.
And soon the whole pocket dinsion will beco a chaotic ss.
At least now, the others are still getting used to the situation. So, I managed to get by without
much trouble. But soon, they will get used to it and they will be coming after .
I might be able to escape sohow, can't guarantee your safety in that scenario."
Crow nodded and went into a deep thought.
"What is the alternative for that though? I don't really have too many tricks up my sleeve that could help in this scenario. You might be well equipped with this."
Sam nodded and said.
"Right now, we have several advantages.
First one is that we have a temporary secure spot. We can use this as our rendezvous for now. I
will give you a couple of transference tokens that you can.
Second, I kind of got a glimpse of how this pocket dinsion works.
Third, I have so markers spread out and have a faint idea on where the undead creatures
and other participants are.
Fourth, we don't really have any scoring criteria. So, we don't have to be the ones to kill these
people. If I could help it, I would just try to limit the killings by my own hand and let the dinsion take them out.
This way, we can focus more on the survival and less on the others."
