Sam arranged a quiet room without any disturbances. The team were all watching the situation from outside of the room.
Only two people apart from Sam were allowed.
One of them was a healer and the other person was a knife user.
The captured guy was knocked out and was kept on a stone table with a bunch of inscriptions. Sam prepared this table beforehand. This one was similar to the one he used for the Prince of darkness surgeries.
The inscriptions were activated and the captive was held on it.
Sam stripped his naked and made so markings all over his body.
"Use your knife skills to cut him. Accurately."
The team mber was confused and felt a bit nervous. It wasn't that his confidence was lacking. It just felt a bit weird and new for him.
"He might die." He muttered in a low tone.
"Don't worry. As long as you don't hit a vital, he will live. And if you follow the exact markings, and maintain the depth I told you about, you won't hit a vital."
"Alright, if you say so."
Then the cutting began.
What they saw next was sothing the team had never expected to see. Sam with the knife user's help, cut up so of the bones and replaced them with so prosthetics that he had prepared. The prosthetics are just a bit special.
After making all the changes he wanted, he closed up the body once again and healed with the healer's help.
Sam wiped the sweat off his forehead. He was exhausted. It wasn't a problem when he was performing a surgery on soone at the sa level or lower. But even with the backup and energy reserves, to perform a surgery on a third grade cultivator was really exhausting.
"Get ready. Proceed according to the plan."
Haziel started having so doubts. Sam's plan was a bit too unconventional and a bit too cruel for them to follow it to the tee.
At first she thought they would just be killing people directly, but what Sam did was completely unexpected. They expected so traps, curses, poison, even undead and such, but this was a unheard off.
"Don't worry, this will work out."
"Can't we just use the sa tactic and lure them out one after the other? We can take them down that way?"
"First of all, it will be too exhausting. This will be a long ga. You don't have the numbers to drag it on. But they do.
You cannot be too active for too long. You will be drained and they will eventually win, no matter how much progress we make.
Secondly, this is efficient.
You cannot just lay an elaborate plot to capture one person. That will be a waste of brain cells and resources.
You always need to get so extra benefit for a single plot. This will help us get it.
If you are too scared or soft-hearted to do this, just tell now. Because what happens next will be much crueler."
Haziel hesitated for a mont and nodded. One of their teammates took the guy away and used a one-way space gate to send him away.
The captive who was still unconscious was sent away through the one way gate with no company.

*THUD*
The man's body landed on an empty patch of grass in the middle of nowhere. However, the mont he landed, a couple of birds hovered over his body and soon a person ca running from a specific direction.
It was the sa direction of the Canyon where the Gambler team swiped the target.
Even though they knew that their teammate was captured by the gambler academy, at least that was what they believed, and they also knew that the gambler academy wouldn't just keep him in the vicinity, they still looked for any possible traces.
They escaped the Eagles and busied themselves in the search. Just when they thought they wouldn't be able to find anything, one of their team mber's beasts managed for locate him.
He imdiately injected his spiritual energy into his teammate's body and checked his condition.
But to his surprise, he couldn't detect any changes at all. It was so weird. In fact, for so reason, he appeared a lot earlier and his vitality was a lot stronger than before.
This caused his doubts to increase.
He contacted his team and they gathered. Their healer used so potion to wake the target up.
"You… buddy what happened? Why did the Gambler academy team leave you?" The leader sked without beating around the bush.
The target looked around in confusion.
He couldn't understand what his leader was saying.
"Gambler team? I was captured?"
"It seems like he was knocked out pretty good. Its still weird that the gambler academy has left him behind. Let's get him back to the base and check him out.
Maybe we will find so more clues with our employers' thods." The leader suggested and the rest complied.
"Alright."
One of them picked the guy up and they went back to their base.
Within half an hour, one of the Hephaestus academy mbers and one of the Athena academy mbers ca to check on the guy.
He behaved oddly and weakly. He felt hurt all over, but couldn't find where the injury was. He was lethargic and energetic at the sa ti. He couldn't understand his own condition.
But as they checked, they noticed sothing odd. The energy in the target's body was suddenly pumped into various parts of the body. Most particularly, the bones. The ribs, the hands, legs, none were spared.
Before they could react.
*BOOM*
The body exploded and the shockwave sent everyone crashing into the walls.
"Argh…"
"Fuck…"
Groans of distress rung through the room. The explosion wasn't lethal, but they all suffered injuries, none of them were spared.
There was at least one open wound on their bodies.
And all those open wounds, gave out a burning sensation. As if they were being seared with a red hot knife.
