Sam’s team slowly inched towards the border.
Of course, there was no actual border, it was the spot Sam marked, based on the apex’s behavior.
Standing there, they all looked at the apex in their screen. It was very similar to the land croc. It had the sa body structure, sa appearance and most importantly, sa glowing scale patterns.
The only difference was that there were protruding scales on its back, starting from the crown to all the way down to the tail.
Every one of them was nervous. They didn’t know if they were actually strong enough to take down a Peak stage consummate creature.
No one dared to speak or even breath loudly. They are sure that they are well within the range of the creature’s senses. In fact, if the creature willed, it could very well sense everything happening on the planet.
Of course, its waste of ntal strength and there is a chance of possible offense with the others... Anyway, let’s forget about those irrelevant details.
Sam took a deep breath and said.
"This is going to be the biggest challenge that we encountered until now.
Realistically, it is basically impossible for us to deal with sothing as strong as this creature. It is against the nature. And my current capabilities are still not there.
With a re thought, it could kill and the friends. With a little more than the thought, it could kill all of the managers. This is basically us gambling with our lives.
So, if you guys want to dip out. Now is the ti."
They didn’t speak.
In fact, the didn’t pay much attention to Sam’s pep talk. Because in their mind their practiced monts were going on and on. They practiced so particular moves that each party should make right after poking that apex.
To make sure that they don’t die under its attacks... they would only pay attention to Sam, when their orders were given.
Sam noticed how they were in the zone and gave the instructions.
"First position."
Everyone disappeared from the spot and reappeared at various spots on the island. Even before that transference could be completed, Sam stepped forward into the territory of the apex.
As he did, he kicked the ground hovered in the air. A massive cube appeared in his hands. Its energy was far more charged than he could handle. This cube was very similar to the ones he sold back in the academy realm to create chaos.
But, this one is of a much higher level.
Without a second thought Sam activated the cube and imdiately disappeared from there with transference.
Just in hair’s breadth, as the spatial energy sent them away...
*GRUNT*
*BOOM*
A small growl from the apex and a concentrated energy blast happened in the spot Sam was in. However, the energy blast was quite controlled and it didn’t impact the surroundings.
The apex which was lazing around under the sun, felt Sam disappear, it pricked its mind a bit. It raised its neck and looked in the direction.
Surprisingly the cube didn’t disappear along with Sam. It was right there. It made the creature frown, because the energy charge from the cube kept on increasing. And it was so intense, the surroundings started collapsing bit by bit.
The apex finally stood up.
But it appeared right in the spot where the cube was.
*BOOM*
The cube exploded with fire. Even the apex felt the impact, and turned its head to the side. Its natural energy barrier activated deflecting the heat away, without any trouble.
However, the fact that it was caught in the attack bothered it quite a bit.
The attack wasn’t ant for damage at all. It was ant for provocation and they succeeded in it. Its senses expanded. It caught the positions of everyone on the team. But before it could think...
"First move."
Icarus who was the closest to the creature made the first move. Half a dozen cubes were activated, he dropped them, threw a full powered attack with his gauntlet to the beast and disappeared.
However, even as the spatial force pulled him away, the apex already focused on him. And its energy tried to disrupt the space around him. Trying to lock him down.
But Icarus kept on crushing the transference tokens, which destabilized the space and let him escape.
The beast just brushed off the attack from the gauntlet. Its swung its tail as it appeared at Icarus’ spot, hoping to stop him. The tail hit the cubes, sending them flying. Still, three of them exploded upon contact.
The energy barrier like a do appeared around the creature blocking them all.
At that mont, it sensed sothing. Its vision narrowed and it sensed the energy presence which seed to have been inactive until now.
*BOOM*
Three divine inheritances. Late stage Consummate ones. The highest ones Sam had in his arsenal, were exploded at the sa ti.
It took a lot of effort for Sam to figure out a way to destabilize these. And they happened within the do.
The energy was basically three Divine plane late stage consummation cultivators, self destructing. Quite a devastating one and even the apex felt it.
Its barrier disappeared.
"SECOND"
Sam’s command reverberated in the ears of everyone.
One after the other, from managers to his friends, everyone launched their attacks, from all directions. Managers made their gauntlet attacks and then there were the cubes.
The apex finally got pissed.
With a grunt the surrounding energy exploded. Not a single attack reached it before it disappeared.
It sensed the presence of all the puny creatures that attacked it move towards the center of the island and it moved the sa.
But what it didn’t bother to sense were the small shadow mice they were not even in the divine plane, move around in the forest.
The apex appeared and stopped right in front of the do. The barrier formation Sam prepared by forcing open a spatial tear for the shadow world.
Because for it, the shadow world felt foreign and dangerous. Even with its high cultivation, its brain wasn’t mature enough to comprehend what this energy was.
And the creatures that bothered it were now hiding inside the barrier.

"THIRD"
Sam commanded.
This ti it wasn’t for the team. Instead it was for the small rodents that reached their designated place in the forest.
And all of this happened in three seconds.
