Sam’s smirk didn’t even waver.
As the golden sword charged at him, he simply swung his own sword, as if he was deflecting it.
Atrocus didn’t mind it. He believed his strength his superior. But the mont Sam’s sword ca in contact, his golden sword just disappeared. As if it was never there, it just dissipated into a bunch of golden sparkles, never to be seen again.
Atrocus froze mid-air. His eyes wide open, and his jaw still. He looked at Sam with imnse shock. The surroundings were extrely silent, to the point, it felt a bit scary. He could hear his own heartbeat.
He never experienced such a feeling. The feeling of quiet and inevitable defeat. He suddenly lost all the strength in his arms and legs. His body instinctually lost its ability to fight, for a mont. But at that mont, Sam swung his sword.
A sharp sword ray brushed past Atrocus’ face, waking him up from the daze. He regained his balance and hovered again.
Sam ignored Atrocus and turned to Myrmon.
"Shall we conclude this as my victory? Or do you want to keep going?"
Myrmon just nodded. Sam turned around and leisurely flew towards the formation. He even put the sword away.
"Why...
Why...
WHY...." Atrocus muttered in that semi-daze and soon his facial expression turned to one of hysteria. He gritted his teeth, pulled out a spear and threw it at Sam.
Sam dodged the spear, without even turning back.
And when a second spear ca, he even caught it without turning back and dropped it into the sea.
"Atrocus."
Myrmon called out to him. But the man in question lost himself.
"Treat with so damn respect." Atrocus muttered through his gritted teeth and took out another spear. But this one was different from the rest.
The mont it ca out, Sam halted and turned around. For the first ti, a frown appeared on his face. Parth reacted and his eyes blazed with killing intent. Myrmon who was about to stop Atrocus, suddenly felt Parth’s killing intent blazing.
His body instinctually moved and he took out a sword, cutting off Parth’s aura.
"Myrmon." Parth muttered through gritted teeth and Myrmon suddenly realized what was happening. He cursed under his breath and was about to make a move, when Atrocus already made his.
The golden spear was enveloped with dozens of golden runes and its power was definitely higher than anything Atrocus could pull off.
Parth and Myrmon were locked in, the rest of the big shots were not about to do it. The managers who were watching the whole fight were about to make a move, but Watt stopped them.
"Seems like you guys are still too new to the team.
If he needs help, he would have made sure to let you know. Just watch the show."
As the spear neared him, Sam’s body glowed his golden aura. At the sa ti, an exo-suit appeared on his body. His right gauntlet glowed open, with golden light as he caught the spear.
*BOOM*
With an explosion, most of the spear’s might was diminished, but it still pulled Sam away. However, Sam used all his force to slow it down and stopped... it.
The golden runes still glowed. The exo-skeleton of the suit was destroyed. It collapsed and fell into the sea completely.
Sam’s right arm was broken and bleeding.
However, the golden glow coming off from his feather coat, healed the injury. A surge of energy escaped his hands and penetrated the spear. It took various runic forms and in real ti, the golden runes revolved around the spear changed.
The golden glow turned aqua blue.
The runes glowed wildly and took the shape of nine serpent heads. The heads hungry revolved around the spear, coiling from the shaft to the tip.
With a single step forward, Sam threw the spear with the sa hand that was just bleeding a second ago.
As the spear moved forward, the sea roared like a hungry beast. Water currents raged and turned into roaring serpent heads, following the path of the spear. All nine heads converged together right at Atrocus...
And then he saw it. The spear was about to devour him and bury him in that sea. Atrocus did sothing he hadn’t done his whole life.
Turned his back and ran.
Still, the spear attack ca at full force and was about to kill him off. At that mont...
*Snap*
With a faint snap, Myrmon dissipated the attack. The water and the spear just collapsed and fell into the sea.
Sam just smiled faintly and looked at Myrmom, with a hint of disdain in his eyes.
When his gaze landed on Atrocus again, Myrmom appeared right next to Atrocus and said.
"I apologize."
Myrmom bowed as he looked at Sam’s gaze.
"No need. It would be my sha to kill such a coward. A man who neither had the bearing to contain his frustration, nor the skill to back up his arrogance. You claid that he would test ... what a waste of my ti.
Please prepare my territory as per our contract. I have things to do."
Parth flew towards Sam and asked.
"I am sorry, I didn’t act."
"Yeah, that was a pretty close call. When Myrmon stopped you so easily, I thought all your promises were just boasts."
"Don’t even joke about it. I knew it, my instincts told that you could handle it, so I didn’t sweat it."
"Well, you got so pretty good instincts, then."
"Thank you. You are very skilled. Your basics are better than I thought."
"Is there anything else to weapon wielding apart from basics?"
"Well, said."
They hovered slowly as they chatted up without thinking about anyone else. The rest just watched the whole spectacle with varying emotions.
Anyway, Sam just doubled his territory with just one battle that he had a lot of fun with.
He even felt bad about not having this match before the point distribution happened. Now, he had to wait another 3 months before he got the next installnt.
