Sam was not the only one struggling with the feeling of lust... The other players had their own calamities.
Far away, in one of the conquest worlds...
Dayus firmly established his foothold here. Unlike most players, who had to take care of themselves, Dayus always had the full support of the Zeus academy in everything that he did.
So, he didn’t even have to find too many of his own subordinates that are loyal to him.
This helped keep his influence relatively high and he didn’t have to put much effort in doing so. In this particular planet, he took control of over ninety percent of the resources. He even used this planet as the base, used the native population to take over a huge chunk of the other planets in this realm.
He even made collaborations with other students from the other academies and took over so other territory by proxy.
After Sam left, its safe to say that Dayus got a huge lead on the rest. Only the other players managed to compete with him, but even among them he did have relative edge in terms of territory.
Usually, Dayus would have been on cloud nine and he was for a little while.
However, at the mont, Dayus is looking at his own ruined base with incredulous eyes. He was so pissed off that he could actually pop a blood vessel at any given mont.
The fortress that he had built just a couple of days ago was completely destroyed. It’s in the ruins. The formations that he painstakingly invested in were raged to ground. Dozens of dead bodies of the students and rcenaries lay on the ground.
As for the natives... surprisingly even though they were the weaker part in all of this, didn’t die. They were injured and so of them were even hit critically, none of them died.
And all of this happened within the couple of hours that Dayus disappeared from his base.
He just went out to discuss his expansion plans with White.
They already established themselves in the second grade. They even stole so territory from other weaker academies. They reached the peak of Divine plane initiation, they are ready to attack the third grade areas and rake in points just like Sam.
He is on the verge of proving his excellence and gaining the reverence that his rightfully deserved with Sam absent.
He was ready to revel in his own glory.
But now this happened.
He grabbed one of the subordinates who is still alive and intact.
"What happened here? Who did it?"
The subordinate was barely unconscious and was unable to answer. Dayus gave him a small zap to wake him up.
"NO... NO... please please. Let go. You... you promised you wouldn’t kill ."
The subordinate yapped like crazy. His body was trembling, his voice was shivering. He was scared shitless... and from the sll of it, literally.
But Dayus didn’t understand why.
He knew he is respected, but not to this level. Definitely not to the point of shitting oneself.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?"
"There is nothing wrong with him. Sothing’s wrong with you." Dayus heard a very extrely familiar voice that made him turn around in shock. He almost couldn’t believe his own eyes. He even rubbed them hard.
"Y..you..." Dayus pointed at the young man who just ca walking towards him. It seed like he appeared out of thin air. He had bright purple robes, with spiky purple hair. He looked dashing, with his noise almost pointed to the sky and a spear resting on his shoulder.
"At least, speak properly. You incompetent imbecile." The young man scowled at Dayus.
But, it’s not like he could really bla Dayus for this... because what Dayus was looking at is actually a mirror image of himself... except for that additional purple flare and the overreaching arrogance etched on his face.
And Dayus instinctually knew, it’s not so clone or a twin... it’s definitely himself, but in another body... which should have been impossible.
"What? You are shocked at seeing your own face?" The imposter asked...
"Who are you?" Dayus finally ca back to his senses.
"I am you. I am Dayus. You know, a version just with a bit more backbone than you... bloody spineless fool. I am the version of you, that still has its pride."
Dayus was shocked even more. With his mouth wide open and his eyes almost popping out, he looked at the man in front of him... not being able to make sense of the situation.
"Why..."
The imposter swung the spear with purple lightning crackling around him. He lunged forward trying to impale Dayus in the gut.
But Dayus reacted quickly. He ca out of the shock and reacted like the warrior he was. He blocked the spear and even caught a hold of it.
The shock turned to anger.
"I am your first calamity. Calamity of pride. Now, I will destroy you... take your place and then kill Sam to reclaim my lost honor.
So, obediently accept your incompetent self and die by my hands."
And just like that, Dayus was drawn into the second most difficult fight in his whole life... right below the ti he fought Sam.
...
At the sa ti.
In another realm.
Akhil has been doing well lately. Unlike the Norse gods and Olympian gods, the Xia realm gods didn’t really piss off Sam much, except for Hou Yi. And even with the relationship Sun Wukong developed with Sam, he didn’t target the Sun Wukong’s academy.
So, Akhil had a relatively easier ti.
And unlike Dayus Akhil never really took Sam as his enemy. He did strive to get stronger, but he always asured his progress against himself, not Sam.
So, he was actually content with the way he was going ever since the conquest started.
He even established his own territory, with a dozen odd subordinates and hundreds of beasts under his control.
However, his calamity didn’t outright destroy his base, instead it prompted him to expand it.
