While Parna is grinding her teeth, wanting to crush Sam with a single punch... far away from the battlefield, there is another strategist who is lost in thought.
His eyes are fixated on several model maps surrounding him.
He was sitting on the floor, turning around trying to figure out sothing. He is scratching and pulling his hair as he mumbled his thoughts away.
It is the primary strategy room of the alliance.
That is the primary strategist of the alliance.
This is Shimmy.
If soone asks anyone in the Darkhan about Shimmy, about what they think about Shimmy... they would only say one thing.
Confident.
That’s the only way to describe him.
Even when standing in front of Parth, or Bhim... he would have that cocky smirk on his face.
Because he knows that with all their skill and martial prowess, they won’t be able to strategize like him. They won’t be able to compete with him on that front.
Now, he finally t his match.
It is not that Sam’s strategy is actually complicated. There are no complex or hidden variables. It is just Sam is coming with the elents that he doesn’t even know exist.
He understands why Sam is clearing one side at a ti. But he doesn’t know why Sam is asking them to do stuff for him.
Fighting the beasts doesn’t make any sense.
He even stole one of those beasts that had the weird devices put on. He only hoped that he could see what it is going to do.
But apart from that, there is no other lead. The west and east sides of Hastin village are completely passive. Whenever they showed any signs of advancent, even so much as sending in a scout... the skeletal snakes are being let out.
So, they didn’t dare provoke the fight at the mont.
Shimmy didn’t want to let the Consummate stage cultivators attack yet. Because in a defensive battle, he is still wary of the Hastin villagers winning. And if history taught him anything, Hastin villagers are almost always stronger than their peers and the higher the cultivation level, the stronger the disparity with their peers.
So, they have to et the other Connsummate level opponents in a desperate state.
They need to crack the pretranscendent and transcendent stages, break through the barriers and push Hastin village to the brink of defeat. They need to make those villagers go into a locked in corner. Make the consummate cultivators of Hastin village break the rules first.
Then they can just kill them all in one fell swoop.
That has been his plan all along.
But it is nowhere near fruition.
After pulling his hair for a while, he left the spot and went to et the artisans. They are all currently restraining a beast, which had the device tagged to it.
They are trying to check the device while it is still attached to the creature.
"So, what do we have here?"
"Nothing. The defense chanism is a bit weird."
"Weird as in? Is it too complicated?"
"Yes and no. This guy used the inscription arrays in a weird way. They are layered on and on and you need to find the exact order to break them. If you ss up, it would crash automatically.
It is almost like he is challenging the intelligence of the opponents to take the chanism of the device if they are capable."
"You guys are capable. Take it."
"We could but it takes a lot of ti. But from what we saw, there is a tir chanism set up within that tag
So, after a while, sothing is going to happen. We don’t know what it is and if we could actually finish it before that ti."
"Do you guys have any idea, like any hint at what could possibly happen?"
"From what we observed, there seems to be a transference chanism ingrained in it. So, there is a chance the beasts would be moved to different locations."
Gears turned in Shimmy’s head. He thought of all the ways these beasts could be used in this battle.
"Is that their primary purpose?" Shimmy asked.
The artisans were hesitant, but one of them, an old man looked sure and said.
"Yes, it should be. There is limited space and energy storage within it. The concealnt chanism already extrely complicated. It should be impossible to add more than the transference on to this.
He must be trying to send these beasts to our armies or to our bases to deal with them.
He is using these beasts to coverup their lack of numbers."
"But..." Another artisan is about to say sothing
"That kid is smart, but no amount of genius can compensate for the constraints of space and energy.
Sotis the simplest answer is the answer. I think we need to stop overthinking."
"If you are that confident, just kill the beast and remove the tag directly." Shimmy ordered and the old man is on cloud nine.
He even looked smug, making eyes at the rest of the crew.
He took out his hamr and slashed the neck of the beast. A single clean cut. He even looked cool while he did it.
And then ca the reality check.
The mont, the beast’s life signs are gone, the device triggered.
*BOOM*
With an explosion, a portal to the shadow realm opened up.
It was like a flash bang and covered the surrounding fifty ter radius.
Shimmy is the only one that managed to react in ti and escaped the radius.
There are so other high level cultivators who did as well.
But there are at least twenty people with Consummate stage cultivation or lesser still in the radius. The first shadow to co out was the beast’s. But for so reason, it didn’t take long for other shadows to pop out as well.
That’s when the spatial transference array of the device activated.
Of course, the artisans could feel the aura, but are confused. Because the device is broken, so how could the array still survive?
Then they saw it. Several fragnts of the device are still floating mid-air. They are intact and didn’t get destroyed in the explosion.
And they are at the edge of the radius.
They channeled the energy from the shadow realm and amplified the capacity for the spatial transference. Everything within that radius is transferred to a different location.
