Uriel knew that Elental Control was the true path of aether mastery, and he was also aware that, had he mastered even a portion of his elents, half the things that transpired in the desert would not have happened.

As Uriel understood it, the grade of any artefact reflected the amount and quality of enchantnts an item could withstand.
A bronze artefact could easily handle iron and bronze enchantnts, but it could also handle silver enchantnts, though that would push it to its limits and reduce the number of iron and bronze enchantnt slots available.
The most Uriel had seen was that—an artefact having an enchantnt only a grade higher than its own.
