Yi Ying finished her report to Izroth before she left with haste.
’I sent Yi Ying to keep an eye on the movements of Pierce and the Duvelle family. It’s hard to believe that a family with such deep roots in the Amaharpe kingdom are working together with the League of the Eidolon. It would make more sense if Pierce is acting alone. However, after learning how long the shadahi have been around the Mortal Realm, I’m sure the Netherworld has its own ways as well. The existence of the League of the Eidolon itself is proof of that. I have to consider all possibilities.’
It was mon knowledge to those who lived in the Mortal Realm that the shadahi were a fairly recent presence. To them, the shadahi abruptly appeared one day and brought about chaos. However, after Izroth pleted the quest Resseki & Kiren’s Challenge: Sword & Shield, he discovered that the shadahi had already sunk their teeth into the Mortal Realm long before the war against them occurred.
Given how much hatred the Netherworld held toward the Mortal Realm, Izroth would not be surprised if their roots traveled back to the founding of the Mortal Realm kingdoms, yet alone a mere Duvelle family.
"Still, it’s strange. The importance of Danaharpe to the Amaharpe kingdom is nothing to scoff at. In terms of security, there are not many cities that are its equal. And, given where it’s located in Amaharpe, launching an attack against it would require one to break through several other cities. It would take a large amount of preparation. If the League of the Eidolon is involved, it’s probably nothing like a large scaled attack. Then, is there something in Danaharpe that they’re willing to risk exposing themselves to obtain?" Izroth said to himself.
After the recent attack on the Noble District in Danaharpe, the security measures had risen several fold. Additionally, one of the War Brigade’s main forces were currently situated in the city. Even though the War Brigade force was only using it as a temporary resting stop before they departed to help retake Terraharpe City, their presence still acted as a strong deterrent for any reckless moves.
’As I thought, I need more information before I can see the whole picture. There are too many missing pieces.’
Just as that thought crossed Izroth’s mind, the sound of a system alert went off in his head.

’Oh? A hidden quest? It looks like I’ve stumbled into something interesting. With this, it at least confirms that Yi Ying was correct about the League of the Eidolon making a move soon. Under normal circumstances, twelve hours would be too short to uncover a plot in a city as big as Danaharpe. However, since I already have a lead, I just have to continue to pursue it. The failure penalty is a bit harsh for an S-ranked quest. But, since I planned on getting involved either way, I might as well make the most of it.’

In Izroth’s eyes, despite its harshness, the penalty for failing the quest was nothing huge. The most troublesome part was being restricted to Danaharpe for two weeks. There were many things he still had to do before making a trip to the Mother of All Forests. Naturally, he had no intention of being restricted for two weeks.
’This is the first time I’ve seen one able to incur a debt from failing a quest. If it’s a debt, then does it involve merchants or a noble family? Not to mention average players, even a small guild could not e up with 750 gold coins without struggle. With the current conversion rate, that’s a little more than
