He had unfinished business.

Sophie had been streaming for close to two weeks now, according to Zack, but the numbers told a bleak story. Low viewership. Minimal gifting. The kind of traction that made most new strears quietly give up within the first month.
Stan tapped into the room.
Sophie was on screen, different from the poised, perfectly composed campus belle he was used to. She was sitting cross-legged on her bed in an oversized hoodie, hair pulled into a ssy bun, talking to her sparse audience with the slightly self-conscious energy of soone who was still figuring out how to be natural in front of a cara.
The production quality was minimal. The lighting was whatever her bedroom ceiling fixture provided. The chat moved at the leisurely pace of a stream with fewer than three hundred viewers.
She was trying. That much was clear. But trying wasn’t enough on a platform where attention was currency and currency required whales.
Stan activated Emperor status the mont he entered the room.

Sophie stared at the chat, her lips slightly parted.
