Now reading: Chapter 1242 - 1222: Path Severed from Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack, a Romance novel by Falling Flowers.

However, when Luo Qianqian took a step with her right foot, Yann Yao would step out with his left. When Luo Qianqian’s body leaned left, Yann Yao’s body would tilt to the right, always maintaining a balance to prevent any instability and mistakes between the two.

Yann Yao also kept his hand firmly on the rope, ready for any ergencies.

Even though they were complete strangers, the coordination that ford between them was unexpected and relieved Luo Qianqian greatly.

Luo Qianqian felt Yann Yao resembled soone, but couldn’t quite pin it down. Now was not the ti for random thoughts, so she simply let it go.

In the Darkness, Luo Qianqian couldn’t see much beyond a ter within her range of sight.

As they walked onto the path, they realized there were no other paths in this direction nor any sounds of other people talking.

"Stop." Yann Yao’s voice suddenly rang out, causing Luo Qianqian to instinctively take another step forward before stopping, preventing a collision with him.

"There’s a noise," Yann Yao spoke with a hint of coldness, "from a distance."

Luo Qianqian directly took out her small bow, preparing to turn ice into arrows.

All along, she could only hear the pounding of her heart, growing more intense.

Without ti to react, they were enveloped in a gust of cold wind, within monts surrounded by a cold fog.

"Move quickly, the attack cos from below!" Luo Qianqian focused for a mont and quickly spoke.

She could feel the approaching coldness and the overwhelming aura.

At this mont, her only thought was to escape!

"Go," Yann Yao hesitated for a mont before speaking. The synchronization of their steps avoided any collision, allowing Luo Qianqian to move forward assuredly.

"What’s going on?" Luo Qianqian felt the coldness ahead, taking a deep breath, "Stop for a mont."

But without seeing anything, after a mont of silence, she asked, "Do you have anything to light up here?"

"A Luminous Pearl," Yann Yao replied solemnly, "Its light might not suffice, but if we use fire..."

If the fire provokes that aura from earlier, the consequences would be severe.

After a pause, Luo Qianqian took out a flashlight, understanding the gravity of the situation. A minor mistake could cost their lives, so hiding what’s on him was unnecessary. She quietly said, "Close your eyes."

After turning on the flashlight and taking a mont to slowly open her eyes to adjust to the sting, she observed her surroundings.

Remarkably, a layer of white fog covered everything, and even the road ahead was frosted, causing both to gasp.

Normally, they tread these roads cautiously. Now, with the frost, it makes traversing them even more daunting.

Moreover, the road ahead was almost five ters short, and had Luo Qianqian not stopped, they might have found themselves dangling mid-air.

"There’s no path ahead," Luo Qianqian tried to calm her inner fears but couldn’t hide the tremor in her voice.

Even if they could leap across, the frost deterred any quick movents. Slipping down would be disastrous.

For the things in Luo Qianqian’s hands, Yann Yao was curious but chose not to ask. Carefully, he crouched down, sitting with his legs wide on the pathway.

To avoid affecting him, Luo Qianqian stood cautiously, worried of slipping inadvertently.

With the flashlight’s glow, Yann Yao scrutinized carefully, then stood puzzled before his face turned pale, "Can’t believe it’s..."

"What is it? What did you see?" Luo Qianqian asked nervously upon hearing the tremor in his voice, concerned.

Yann Yao managed a bitter smile, "Though not certain, it’s probably that..."

"What?" asked Luo Qianqian, worried, her voice tinged with fear.

"A primordial anomaly, the Kun."

Kun? Luo Qianqian froze, her impression of the creature lingering at a high school mandatory piece "Carefree Travel."

Though the details of the Chapter were sowhat blurry, what she recalled: "In the North Abyss there is a fish, its na is Kun; Kun’s size—a single pot can’t stew it; transford into a bird, nad Peng, Peng’s back needs two grills: one special recipe, one mildly spicy..."

Instead of fear, she felt a craving for barbecue—grilled chicken wings: one special recipe, one mildly spicy.

Thinking about this in such severity, Luo Qianqian laughed out loud, "If only Yan were here." With big flas grilling, sprinkling loads of pepper, cumin spice, and barbecue sauce—what a spectacle.

"Huh?" Yann Yao couldn’t grasp Luo Qianqian’s random chatter, but it was clearly not sothing amusing, given her smile carried a hint of yearning.

Obviously, neither had a solution for such a creature.

"He’s not intending to attack?" Luo Qianqian frowned and asked.

Yann Yao glanced below, shaking his head, realizing Luo Qianqian couldn’t see, he added, "Seems not, he appears to be focused below."

Luo Qianqian nodded, "Alright, let’s tackle the problem ahead first."

A large creature better left unprovoked, lest it becos tooth-stuck, that’s worse than being digested.

"I have a plank, though its strength holding two may be questionable," Yann Yao said. "And we can’t secure it to the other side."

Especially with frost on that side, if it slips, wouldn’t they...

Suddenly inspired by winter’s sweet iron gates, Luo Qianqian paused montarily, extending her hand, raising a layer of frost over the broken section opposite.

"Is your plank long enough?" asked Luo Qianqian.

"Yes," Yann Yao imdiately replied.

"Let’s try," Luo Qianqian breathed deeply, slowly seating herself on the path, appearing awkward compared to Yann Yao due to her size.

The plank passed from Yann Yao’s hand to Luo Qianqian, slowly transmitting between them.

The plank was heavy, but each could support it adequately, their experience with leverage fear wasn’t as intimidating as with Big Black and Xiao Hei.

Once the plank fell into place opposite, it made a crisp sound, surprisingly feeling sowhat secured.

Leaving Yann Yao slightly puzzled.

The winter’s iron gate principle reassured Luo Qianqian, but even if it stuck, it remained unstable with the weight of two—how could it hold securely?

Throwing a Dragon Claw Rope across, tightly binding the path, tugging a few tis to ensure safety, Luo Qianqian opted for double-reinforcent to feel secure.
