With the antidote, Luo Qianqian felt a bit relieved. However, for safety, they decided to cultivate together through the night, preventing any mishaps.
Unexpectedly, Hua Nianyi visited the next day. Sensing soone approaching, Luo Qianqian imdiately lay down and pretended to sleep.
The other two quietly sat up on the beam.
Soon, knocks echoed from the door, but with no response, Hua Nianyi called Shiqi to push the door open and enter.
Seeing Luo Qianqian with a flushed face on the bed, tears rolling down, Hua Nianyi lightly said, "Shiqi, I’m sorry." Gently stroking Luo Qianqian’s cheek, she seed slightly reluctant yet clenched her fist to stand upright.
Standing by the bedside, she reached out to open the window and tied a Red Ribbon to the window handle.
The red ribbon swayed slightly in the breeze.
The sun rose and set, and by dusk, Hua Nianyi remained in Qian Xi’s room, not moving around casually. She even took out a letter from her chest and placed it on the table. The white envelope bore no writing, but it was evident it was to be left for Yan and Huangfu Yihui.
"All done?" Just as dusk fell, a person pushed the door open and carefully shut it, looking cautious.
Dressed in black, with a mask on his face, his expression clearly exuded tension.
"Yes." Upon seeing the man, Hua Nianyi quickly stood up, not forgetting to close the window.
"Didn’t see those two pass by today, no anomalies here?" The man’s voice was sowhat hushed, clearly able to suppress the volu.
Speaking as he approached the bed.
"No, when I arrived, I slipped the letter into the neighboring room, and no one has co by today either," Hua Nianyi replied with respect, her head bowed.
Luo Qianqian sensed soone standing beside her, the familiar aura catching her off guard.
"Alright, then you should leave. Rember, you cannot speak of this matter to anyone." The man nodded slightly, tossing a black sachet embroidered with bamboo patterns to Hua Nianyi: "If this exposes, you know the consequences."
Hua Nianyi took the sachet and promptly turned and left, closing the door, her footsteps hurried with no lingering hesitation.
What is it that drives Hua Nianyi to such behavior?
Though maintaining a calm appearance, Luo Qianqian’s mind was filled with doubts.
The man wrapped his arms around Luo Qianqian. As he was about to turn, he froze in place. A long sword shimred conspicuously on his neck, its silver glow reflecting under the oil lamp.
At that mont, Luo Qianqian opened her watery eyes, staring straight at him. He even felt Luo Qianqian’s tiny hand beside her, poking him.
"You shaless! Who are you holding?" Luo Qianqian swiftly jumped out of the man’s embrace, her prolonged lying making her stagger sideways, taking two steps. Another silhouette steadied her.
Huangfu Yihui slightly frowned, supporting Luo Qianqian’s shoulder, a faint crease on his brow. Yet, in his hand appeared a tightly-held long whip: "Brother, you have so nerve, huh?"
The man hesitated, then, glancing aside, spotted Yan’s white garnt edge.
Now, if the man in black didn’t recognize he was trapped, he’d be a fool. Yet, considering Luo Qianqian’s poisoning, having been discovered didn’t equate to loss, he snorted coldly: "Ha, better bold than dying soon."
The three others, aside from the man in black, acted as if they hadn’t heard.
Luo Qianqian touched her belly, face pale: "I’m hungry, what about you?"
Yan nodded: "Yes, hungry."
Huangfu Yihui nonchalantly waved his hand: "Let’s eat first, figure it out after we’re full. Anyway, he’s no big deal; just leave him be."
"Hmm." Luo Qianqian nodded in full agreent, the three of them seamlessly gathered at the table, showing no intention of subtlety, utilizing yesterday’s roasted sweet potato pan to grill at and even cooked so eggs.
The aroma wafted through the room, spreading...
The man in black couldn’t help but swallow audibly at the scent, yet at that mont, he dared not move an inch.
The three disregarded him, yet he re-evaluated the trio.
Over there, the three acted leisurely, Yan grilling at, Huangfu Yihui slicing fruits and vegetables, Luo Qianqian rummaging through her supplies without any concern for the black-clad man’s intentions.
Though unclear of his origin, one thing they were certain of was that this person was quite weak.
"I want that sauce," Yan casually remarked as Luo Qianqian searched.
Luo Qianqian’s stock was ample, containing a variety, hence she wasn’t worried about any unfulfilled desires.
"Have this then." Observing the black pepper barbecue sauce in hand, it seed suitable for grilling steak: "Make it dium rare, don’t overcook, otherwise, it won’t taste good."
"What... is that?" Yan asked, puzzled.
"ans the surface is cooked, but inside the at is slightly raw, maintaining its rosy red color," Luo Qianqian blinked: "Almost there, give it to ."
Looking at the at in the pan, Luo Qianqian cheerfully handed out her plate.
Yan silently placed the steak on Luo Qianqian’s plate.
Luo Qianqian seed to have brought an assortnt of items, from clothing to food, and even bedding, thoroughly equipped.
Yan turned to Huangfu Yihui: "How about you?"
"Normal is fine." Huangfu Yihui watched Luo Qianqian slice the steak, the interior still slightly red, raising his brow as he doubted it tasted great.
To his surprise, Yan didn’t grill at all, tossing the steak onto Huangfu Yihui’s plate: "Normal ans raw."
"... Quite insightful." Luo Qianqian nodded repeatedly: "Might upset your stomach, but since you’re here, he’s bold, exploiting favoritism for mischief. The harem is truly chaotic."
What’s this got to do with a harem? Who’s exploiting favoritism?
Yan and Huangfu Yihui both scowled watching silently, slicing the at into pieces, only to put it back into the pan for further grilling.
Two fully-cooked steaks appeared darker compared to Luo Qianqian’s dium-rare version, and Luo Qianqian had already finished slicing everything, boldly pushing the plate forward: "Want to try?"
The two didn’t hesitate, after all, none had started eating yet.
Comparing Luo Qianqian’s dium-rare with well-cooked ones revealed a slightly more flavorful taste in the forr.
Luo Qianqian chuckled: "Or if the at is fatty, well-done tastes better. But with less fatty at, it’s tender this way. Don’t even think about stealing so; I’m not sharing anymore."
After saying this, Luo Qianqian fetched two pieces of bread, making a simple sandwich, resembling the real deal except for the lack of vegetables.
After eating and drinking, Luo Qianqian lazily tidied up, washing the dishes and storing them, washing her hands, even brushing her teeth before turning back behind the screen, facing the sweat-drenched, collapsed black-clad man.
"What happened to him?"
Though not intending any terrorizing act, being one who planned harm against her, Luo Qianqian didn’t restrain, though it was only a minor lesson.
"What did you do to ?" The man in black flushed red, clutching his heart filled with dread; he couldn’t control his own form.
His heartbeat was so rapid, he feared it would leap from his chest.
