Qin Liang, with his team, returned to where they parked and suddenly felt a chill in his heart. Amongst the large shards of broken glass, there was one less vehicle.
Zhang Jin was also stunned, charging towards another minivan and rushing inside to look around, his face turned pale as clay—he hadn’t rembered wrong: indeed, it was their car that had vanished.
Chang Xi was sowhat dazed, "Did they go to buy groceries?"
"Where are your accomplices? Huh?" Qin Liang didn’t care about the consequences, delivering a kick to one of the captured n: "Where is your hideout? Speak!"
Chang Xi also realized sothing was wrong, covering his mouth in disbelief, his eyes wide open, he scread, "Xiao ng!"
Qin Liang narrowed his eyes with a fierce look, his anger intensified when he saw the man he kicked fall to the ground. He turned to Zhang Jin and said, "You and the others take these back." Then he turned and walked in the direction they ca from; Luo Xiying was still over there, presumably, he would have a plan.
Zhang Jin knew that staying wouldn’t help, so he nodded, taking the n and leaving in the overloaded vehicle. Now was the ti to interrogate them, since there were weapons like guns in the rooms where these n stayed. If they had been prepared at that ti, perhaps things wouldn’t have been as smooth as they were now.
Luo Xiying was drinking water, looking like he was out for a tour. Seeing Qin Liang with a serious face striding towards him, he thought to himself that sothing was amiss. Looking at Qin Liang he asked, "Sothing happened?"
"Little One is missing," Qin Liang nodded, his face clouded with gloom. He hadn’t expected that even a simple outing for experience could lead to this.
Luo Xiying, however, seed sowhat relieved after hearing this, "Missing? Impossible." He took out his phone casually and sent off a ssage. In a mont, he got a response.
"Let’s go, head for the border." Luo Xiying abruptly stood up; his pale complexion turned sickly rosy from the sudden movent, and after coughing twice, he clutched his phone: "Deserves a good beating, wait until you get back."
anwhile, Luo Qianqian was crouching under the seat, feeling a chill on her back. Fortunately, she was short and not overweight, which allowed her to hide perfectly under the seat and with her hat on, she looked just like a package.
Luo Qianqian silently prayed that these people would reach their destination quickly and leave the car, so she could be safe.
However, it seed like the heavens didn’t hear her prayers: "What’s this?" A hand poked Luo Qianqian’s back, causing her to shudder with fright and keep quiet. Then, her back was grabbed by a large hand, pulling her from under the seat, exposing her inside the van. Luo Qianqian awkwardly smiled and let out a nervous chuckle...
"How co there’s soone here?" As all eyes focused on her, Luo Qianqian could only play dumb. But her equipnt couldn’t play dumb: "The people from those green turtles?"
Luo Qianqian awkwardly looked at her enviable military green clothing—what did it have to do with green turtles?
"Impossible, look at the kid. She must have stolen these clothes, right?"
"Whether stolen or not, let’s control her first; we can’t blow our cover," said the bald Strong Guy driving, while Luo Qianqian gave him a pitiable look.
Luo Qianqian didn’t dare to speak; even if she had a gun, she was no match for three sturdy n who looked to be three to four tis her size, and besides, with her accuracy, it was questionable if she could hit her target even with enough bullets.
Luo Qianqian was very glad she was still young at that mont; otherwise, she might have already been knocked out.
"Do you want to give..." the strong guy holding Luo Qianqian made a cutting motion across his own neck, and Luo Qianqian was on the verge of tears, desperate. She hadn’t caused any trouble or cried, so why must she be forced to sacrifice her life? Would she be awarded a martyr’s dal? What would her mother think? Would she be scolded for being an unfilial child? If only she had told her mother ’I love you.’ What about her brother? Would he resent her for not rescuing him? And Xu Tianyi... Luo Qianqian felt the regrets of her life flashing before her eyes, a mix of unwillingness and sorrow overwhelming her. It seed unfair to herself to end like this. With her eyes wide open, she stared at that huge hand. Luo Qianqian later felt she must have had a brain cramp to bite it without thinking.
"Ah!" The owner of the hand poised at his neck was startled by the sudden bite, montarily stunned, and let go of Luo Qianqian. He touched the bite mark with the hand that had been holding onto Luo Qianqian and kicked her: "Are you dog or sothing?!"
"Woof woof!!!" Luo Qianqian must’ve been out of her mind to pretend to be rabid, and even soone with rabies from a dog bite wouldn’t actually bark like a dog.
The man who was bitten kicked Luo Qianqian a few more tis in fury: "Damn it, just finish her off."
"Don’t stir up trouble," the man driving said, glancing back at the hand of the man who was bitten: "Get a tetanus shot later."
Luo Qianqian curled up in pain, tears falling uncontrollably. Don’t they know how to be gentle with won? Even if she was a woman, that iron taste in her mouth told her the man was bleeding, and overhearing talk of a tetanus shot instead of a rabies vaccine made her feel uneasy.
She hid the dagger up her sleeve, fortunately sheathed, or else she’d likely hurt herself first.
"You little brat!" With indignation, the man kicked Luo Qianqian a few more tis. Luo Qianqian felt pressure on her chest, gritted her teeth, and tried not to cry out. Luckily, because she was curled up and due to the limited space in the car, the strong guy couldn’t fully use his physical advantage.
"Go easy with the rough stuff!" The car steadied, and faint sounds of other cars could be heard, suggesting they were on the road. The strong guy stopped kicking, and Luo Qianqian took the opportunity to rest.
"Damn it, I’ll take this little thing back and let the boys have so fun!" The strong guy wasn’t kicking anymore, but that didn’t an he was through with Luo Qianqian. Even before reaching a safe place, he had already thought of a hundred ways to kill her.
"As you wish."
Luo Qianqian clenched her teeth hard. The gun was still under the seat, and even if it was in her hands, she wasn’t one hundred percent sure she could take out one man with a single shot, let alone two more without a chance of winning.
Listening to the buzz of the world outside, despite not being young, Luo Qianqian had yet to learn how to hide her emotions. Despair enveloped her.
"Heh," sensing Luo Qianqian’s despair, the bitten man sneered and kicked her twice more: "As if a duck that’s ready for the pot could fly away."
Luo Qianqian instinctively moved towards the front seat, eliciting laughter from the man: "Young but not too dumb, I see."
A shiver went through Luo Qianqian. After what had just happened, she knew that the more she resisted or dodged, the more it would pique the pervert’s interest. She had to feign calmness and not delve further into the situation. There wasn’t much space left anyway, and even if she hid deeper, dragging her out would be as easy as reaching in with one hand.
"We’ve got a roadblock ahead!" announced the driver, a man with a very distinctive voice, one that could be recognized after a single listen—an incredibly hoarse and sinister sound.
The face of the man who was bitten grew dark: "Damn it!"
The driver’s voice took on a dark edge as well: "Stay calm! Don’t lose your composure!"
