It was as if she had stumbled upon an incredible secret, Luo Qianqian spent the entire night in excitent, not knowing when she eventually fell asleep. She woke up very early in the morning, peeked from the upper bunk, and discovered that Qin Nuan in the lower bunk had also opened her eyes.
The two exchanged glances and, as if by unspoken agreent, got out of bed to wash up, change clothes, and headed to the cafeteria.
"It can’t be what I’m thinking, can it?" Luo Qianqian asked with so difficulty accepting it, her eyes full of self-reproach as she looked toward Qin Nuan.
Qin Nuan was startled, then patted her head, "It was her own choice; it has nothing to do with you." Those words, as if confirming what Cao Yingying had done, left Luo Qianqian with her mouth agape, unable to speak, her face helpless.
It was a long ti before she spoke, her voice gloomy, so uncharacteristic of her usual self, "If I hadn’t..."
Qin Nuan imdiately interrupted her, "What haven’t you done? Haven’t said those things? What’s done is done, and it won’t change because of regrets. The harm we caused might not matter to us, but what about others?"
Luo Qianqian was stunned; she hadn’t thought about this problem.
But if it had happened to soone slightly more vulnerable, the consequences would have been unpredictable.
"You should be thankful it was . I am so strong that I scare myself," Qin Nuan said, laughing at herself. She indeed had a strong ntality, otherwise, how could she have endured so much and still be able to laugh heartily?
She should be thankful that so things had changed, otherwise, she would have faced even more tragic outcos than now.
Luo Qianqian also smiled helplessly. Yes, it was Cao Yingying’s own choice. When she initially posted that ssage, she should have anticipated the possible consequences. The old saying ’the root of trouble is the tongue’ isn’t without reason.
"Suddenly, I’m really grateful for the family I have right now," Luo Qianqian blinked, a flicker visible in her eyes which Qin Nuan understood well.
If she wasn’t the granddaughter of Luo Guohui, if she was just Luo Qianqian, she might have had to bear consequences no less severe than those people. Not only might the initial rumors spread by Cao Yingying about Qin Nuan and Cong Rong have been worse, but even more extre things driven by jealousy or inconvenience might have arisen.
She was grateful to have the Luo family as her backing, yet she was uncertain if given another chance, she would choose the sa path.
The affairs concerning Luo Shufan, buried deep in her heart, had occurred even though she didn’t speak of them now.
However, the Luo family hadn’t uncovered any useful information, and even her frequent contacts with Luo Shufan yielded no helpful details.
Qin Nuan glanced at her, "You know, before I t you, I thought about how I would get revenge on them. I imagined many ways to make them dead or injured while still preserving myself. But because you ca along, I didn’t do anything, just waited for things to unfold and adapted as necessary. Do you know why?"
"Why?" Luo Qianqian watched Qin Nuan, her face puzzled.
Qin Nuan smiled, "Because there was soone who had the sa experiences as . She could understand my thoughts, so I wasn’t so alone anymore, and I could complain about all the things from my past life."
Luo Qianqian curved her lips, "Isn’t it the sa for ?" Her previous life wasn’t anything special; she rely muddled through vague days.
So starting anew, as long as she did things she wouldn’t regret later, would be good enough; she would no longer concern herself with the ratio of effort to rewards.
Just as they reached the cafeteria, Luo Qianqian suddenly changed her expression and pulled Qin Nuan out the next second.
"What’s wrong?" Qin Nuan, seeing that there weren’t many people, was puzzled.
Luo Qianqian narrowed her eyes, "Elvis."
"...This must be a coincidence, right? There’s no way he could know what ti you get up and go back to eat breakfast. We also ca here suddenly." Qin Nuan chuckled at Luo Qianqian being overly cautious, but her eyes caught a glimpse of a blond youth erging from the cafeteria with packaged food.
Just as they were about to leave, they heard Elvis call out, "Luo Qianqian? What a coincidence."
How clever of you, you big-headed ghost!
Luo Qianqian suppressed the urge to roll her eyes and put on a polite smile, "Yeah, what a coincidence."
"I happened to buy too much breakfast, so I’ll share so with you." As she spoke, she handed out two bags to Luo Qianqian and Qin Nuan, "I’m off then, see you later." She left without any hint of sticking around for pleasantries.
Qin Nuan looked into her bag, frowning slightly, "Egg stuffed pancake with corn salad?" That was her usual taste, and Luo Qianqian knew it well.
Surprised by her comnt, Luo Qianqian quickly opened her own bag, "It seems you’re overthinking, mine is also an egg stuffed pancake."
Qin Nuan then breathed a sigh of relief, biting into her egg stuffed pancake and saying, "I’ll go buy a bottle of water and bring it to him during class, I don’t like taking advantage of people."
"I like taking advantage of people." Luo Qianqian chuckled mischievously, reaching out to grab Qin Nuan’s chest.
Qin Nuan’s face turned bright red in an instant, checking around to see that no one was near before breathing a sigh of relief, "You’re too much, let’s hurry up, we still need to bring breakfast to the others too."
The two headed towards the supermarket, opting for bread and ham from the many selections. After all, since they had already eaten their breakfast, they didn’t want to eat in the cafeteria anymore.
Luo Qianqian also started eating her still warm breakfast, her expression changing at the first bite. This one did not have corn salad, but instead, it had the chicken strips she usually requested.
Her expression darkened and she said nothing, after all, it was uncertain whether this was a coincidence or a sche.
"Grab another one of those waters, yes, the one that costs ten bucks." Qin Nuan had already checked out at the campus supermarket, while Luo Qianqian was still daydreaming.
"Let’s go." When Qin Nuan ca out, her egg stuffed pancake was already eaten. She looked at Luo Qianqian, who was still staring at her pancake, tapped her on the shoulder, and laughed, "What, was it poisoned?"
"No, no." Luo Qianqian quickly waved her hands, but her expression remained inexplicably solemn.
"Did you bite into an eggshell?" Qin Nuan blinked, imdiately starting to suspect reasonably.
Luo Qianqian rolled her eyes, "Why don’t you say mine had a double yolk?" Speaking, she finished her egg stuffed pancake in a few bites, keeping her suspicions to herself to avoid making Qin Nuan overly anxious.
As soon as they sat down in the classroom, they saw Elvis enter the classroom, still taking the seat next to her.
Without any embellishnt, Luo Qianqian straightforwardly asked, "How did you know our tastes? And how did you know we would co together?"
Elvis mysteriously smiled, "Because I am a gentleman."
Luo Qianqian was speechless, her glance moving past him, but then she saw another person from Zhang Yun’s photo album, very handso, apparently the legendary school hottie.
Compared to an unknown school hottie, naturally, she felt a better affinity toward her classmate, Elvis.
She pointed towards the person at the door, "He’s looking for you, right?"
Elvis turned around, saw the person, and his eyebrows imdiately furrowed, his expression darkening even more when he t his gaze.
He then forcefully pushed off the desk, leaped to the ground in front of him, and with a fierce look, walked toward the person at the door and grabbed him, hugging his neck as he led him away.
"Hey, is this a competition between the new and old school hotties?" Xi ng said gleefully, her voice so loud that it traveled from the back of the classroom to Luo Qianqian’s ears at the front row.
As if she hadn’t heard anything, Luo Qianqian ignored Xi ng, Elvis, or even that school hottie; none of them mattered to her.
