The person who arrived was none other than Xu Xiaoxiao.
Xu Xiaoxiao, arm in arm with a man who appeared very strong, stood in front of a luxuriously and flamboyantly colored sports car.
"Luo Qianqian, what’s with your snarky remarks?" Xu Xiaoxiao simply couldn’t stand the sight of Luo Qianqian. Why would she care about what she did? Confronting her head-on, there was no one Xu Xiaoxiao was afraid of!
"Maybe it’s because the sunlight is too strong that my yang energy is overflowing?" Luo Qianqian replied seriously, "What do you want to do? Check out your new boyfriend? But every ti I see you, you seem to be with soone different, so I can’t really rember them clearly..."
"Ha, you’re just jealous. You even sent that little bastard of my family abroad, really willing to invest! That dog bastard, only you could fancy him!" Xu Xiaoxiao wore a proud expression: "The most expensive thing on you must be that watch, right? Do you even recognize the brand of this car? You’ve probably never even seen one, have you? Do you know how much it costs?"
Luo Qianqian was sowhat bemused. What kind of confidence did one need to think that soone from the Luo Family wouldn’t recognize a Lamborghini? And even if she wasn’t from the Luo Family, where are they? Imperial Capital, right, as if it’s lacking luxury cars?
Xu Xiaoxiao’s confidence was truly inexplicable.
"Hmm, I don’t recognize it, I only know that you can’t afford it," Luo Qianqian responded calmly, without a trace of envy, which really annoyed Xu Xiaoxiao.
"So what if I can’t afford it? My man can!" Xu Xiaoxiao boasted with conceit: "The handso guy in front of you is my fiancé!"
"Oh... we’re leaving. You two enjoy your date. It’s a bit awkward to be a third wheel," Luo Qianqian said calmly, casually pointing to Chang Xi: "Out of politeness, let introduce you—this lady is the daughter of Old Master Wei."
The implication being, even soone of higher status than you, Chang Xi, isn’t as pretentious as you.
Luo Qianqian truly couldn’t understand where Xu Xiaoxiao’s pride ca from.
"Hehe, you think I don’t know anything? Elder, uh... Elder Wei’s granddaughter is a fat pig. Do you think everyone is as ignorant as you? Do you think those kinds of people are so easily impersonated?" Xu Xiaoxiao looked at Chang Xi with disdain.
Chang Xi remained super calm: "Exactly, exactly. Where have I gained weight?" She looked at her figure and pinched her arm: "Seems I have put on so weight indeed. Ti to diet."
"You need a good al to have the energy for dieting," Luo Qianqian didn’t bother with Xu Xiaoxiao, too lazy to even glance at her. However, the man by Xu Xiaoxiao’s side had a flicker of darkness in his eyes after hearing Chang Xi’s status and the dramatic dialogue between Luo Qianqian and others.
He pulled away from Xu Xiaoxiao’s arm: "What nonsense are you talking? Do you think just anyone dares to make such claims?"
Luo Qianqian was speechless. Your reaction is a bit over the top, you know? Clearly, this is for Chang Xi’s benefit.
Sure enough, the next mont the man pulled out a business card from his flashy wallet: "Miss Wei, this is my business card. I am..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Chang Xi calmly got back into the car: "Let’s go sowhere else. This place is too sordid."
"Don’t let others spoil your appetite for dinner. The two of you, hurry up and get in the car," Ye Liang said calmly to Luo Qianqian and Qin Nuan, then took the driver’s seat.
Although the man’s hand trembled while holding the business card, he still kept a smile, tucking the card into the window: "Please contact when you’re free. I would like to invite Miss Wei... to a al as an apology."
As the car started to move, Chang Xi rolled down the window and picked up the card. Just as the man’s face showed a glint of joy, he saw the golden card fluttering in the wind. Chang Xi’s voice followed: "No need for als. I can’t eat with just anyone. Besides, I’m dieting."
Luo Qianqian pursed her lips, watching Chang Xi’s cool move: "I feel like Sister Xi is being stared at by sothing dirty."
Chang Xi calmly answered, "He wouldn’t dare."
"Qianqian, why do I feel like such an arrogant person can’t sche against you?" Qin Nuan pursed her lips. To her, this person was the least of their worries, obviously just a proud and conceited young lady, like a proud little peacock, eager to show off her treasures to the whole world without any notion of keeping a low profile.
"But what if, it’s all an act?" Luo Qianqian pursed her lips. She didn’t want to believe it, but her encounters with Xu Xiaoxiao weren’t just about Xu Tianyi; they had clashed multiple tis, and Xu Xiaoxiao was growing.
"Her?" Chang Xi scoffed, "If she jumps around too much, I’ll beat her up. Looking at her really doesn’t endear her to anyone."
"Exactly, you guys wouldn’t like soone I hate." Luo Qianqian’s face was full of smug expression, causing everyone in the car to laugh. It made sense, didn’t it? They were on the sa side as Luo Qianqian. It would be strange if they liked soone she despised. That’s what friends were for—loving and hating by association.
"Let’s go have lunch." Chang Xi smiled and directed Ye Liang.
Ye Liang nodded and drove towards the designated restaurant.
After sitting for a while, Chang Xi turned her head to speak to Luo Qianqian, "Are you free on the eleventh?"
Luo Qianqian was about to say that she needed to go ho, but when she saw Ye Liang’s flushed face in the rearview mirror and his occasional sneaky glances, she pursed her lips, "I should be free... I guess."
"Then you two co and be my bridesmaids," Chang Xi smiled, knowing Luo Qianqian would definitely co if she said she was free, "I’m getting married on the first of October."
"??? So sudden??? Have you taken the wedding photos yet?" Luo Qianqian’s eyes widened in surprise, now understanding the look in Ye Liang’s eyes from earlier.
"I’m getting the marriage certificate next Monday and taking the photos the weekend after," Chang Xi smiled, "I’m getting to that age, if I don’t get married soon, grandpa is going to kick out."
Luo Qianqian nodded in understanding, then turned to Qin Nuan, "I’m reserving my last chance to be a bridesmaid for you," she said seriously.
Qin Nuan chuckled, ruffling her hair and nodding.
Luo Qianqian smiled. They say being a bridesmaid more than three tis an you won’t be able to get married.
The first ti, she did it for her mother; the second ti, for Chang Xi; the third ti, there was no reason it shouldn’t be for Qin Nuan.
As for He Wenyu, who she had grown up with, Luo Qianqian was well aware of the potential complications that might arise, so she wasn’t worried that He Wenyu would get married before her.
"No worries, I’ll give you the bouquet directly," Chang Xi was also generous. Originally, she only planned to invite Luo Qianqian alone, since she didn’t have any true friends. Rather than having acquaintances serve as bridesmaids, she would prefer not to have any at all. But since Qin Nuan just happened to be there, they might as well do it together.
"That’s nice." Luo Qianqian’s smile was radiant and tender, "You all must be happy, especially having such an adorable bridesmaid like ."
Luo Qianqian’s narcissism shattered the heartfelt mood.
"I was planning to tell you after getting the certificate. It just so happens that you’re here." Chang Xi chuckled, "But, no red envelopes, okay?"
Luo Qianqian was speechless. Did she look like the type to co for a red envelope?
After lunch, Luo Qianqian called Luo Yanwu to pick up the two of them, leaving Chang Xi and Ye Liang to date, given that this was her last bit of ti before stepping into the ’grave’ of marriage.
