Before going to sleep, Luo Qianqian ntioned to her grandma the information she had received during her voice call with Luo Shufan: the guest preferred light food and liked vegetarian dishes more than at ones.
Early the next morning, Luo Qianqian got up early; sleeping in wasn’t an option when receiving guests—it was the basic etiquette.
After washing up, she opened her wardrobe and ticulously chose an elegantly simple light green dress. After carefully fixing her hair and ensuring no strands were sticking out, she applied a layer of moisturizer before heading downstairs.
Yue Tingyu was astonished to see Luo Qianqian coming downstairs so early: "Why are you up so early?"
"Good morning, Grandma. I have guests today. I couldn’t very well sleep in," Luo Qianqian said with a sweet smile, grabbing Yue Tingyu’s arm. "Grandma got up even earlier, didn’t she? Can I help with anything?"
When Old Master Luo and Luo Xiying arrived and saw Luo Qianqian seriously washing the fruit, they were stunned. Usually, Luo Qianqian wouldn’t get up until the sun shone directly on her bed, and here it was just past six in the morning. Also, she typically lounged around in pajamas or loose ho clothes—however was comfortable. Why was she now dressed in a fitted dress?
"Qianqian, are you still half asleep? It’s just past six," Luo Xiying said as he casually took an apple Luo Qianqian had washed and popped it into his mouth.
Who knew Luo Qianqian would pout, "Uncle, if you’re going to eat, don’t pick from the fruit platter. I arranged only the prettiest ones there." Saying this, she carefully selected another big, red apple, washed it, and added it to the platter, then turned to Old Master Luo: "Good morning, Grandpa. Would you like an apple?"
Old Master Luo shook his head subconsciously and after a long pause, he finally said, "Qianqian, did you not sleep well?"
Luo Qianqian shook her head: "No, I slept very well, it’s just that the small piece of cake wasn’t enough. I planned to co down early and sneak so tasty food." She stuck out her tongue playfully, looking as mischievous as usual.
Old Master Luo raised his eyebrows, "Last night, I cut you a large piece, but you said you were dieting. Now you say it wasn’t enough."
"Alright, Fourth Brother, go wake up that kid Luo Yanran. Let him follow and train a bit, he’s really useless," Old Master Luo said dismissively, yet filled with a touch of dread; if not for his grandson’s intervention, Luo Qianqian could have been injured. That wound might have looked minor, but Qin Nuan said that if not for Luo Yanran’s quick pull, that knife would have struck Luo Qianqian’s heart. And if his grandson hadn’t been injured, how could his granddaughter recklessly intervene? If she hadn’t intervened, it could have been fatal.
Sotis it’s hard to tell whether such protection is good or bad.
"Grandpa, when my senior brother cos later, please don’t get angry with him; he’s not Grandpa Kong." Luo Qianqian said seriously, watching her uncle going upstairs, while placing the fruit platter on the coffee table.
She thought for a while; calling Jimo Cheng too formally seed alienating; calling him Ah Cheng sounded too intimate, especially since she was more than a year younger—it felt disrespectful. Calling him Chengzi seed inappropriate in person; calling him Jin Nian felt awkward, as even the elders might not know Jimo Cheng’s style na, let alone their own.
So it was better to just call him Senior Brother since everyone knew that she would soon beco Old Master Jimo’s closed-door disciple.
"Do I look like such an unreasonable old man?" Old Master Luo said with dissatisfaction: "No matter when, I am your grandpa, and that old man is just a teacher. He can’t compare to . Hmph."
Luo Qianqian covered her mouth and giggled. How interesting was her grandpa?
"Uncle, what ti is it? I want to sleep!!!" Then, screams from Luo Yanran could be heard. In less than half a minute, Luo Xiying ca downstairs, followed by Luo Yanran in his pajamas, muttering, "Qianqian hasn’t gotten up either, why does he make get up?"
Luo Qianqian watched Luo Yanran with amusent.
Luo Yanran felt sothing was off, looked up, saw Luo Qianqian, and shuddered, "Ah, why are you here? Did the sun rise from the west today?"
Luo Qianqian pouted, expressing her discontent. The next second, Luo Yanran was dragged out by Luo Xiying, whose unflustered voice followed: "Run ten laps around the neighborhood. If you don’t finish, don’t think about having breakfast!"
Luo Qianqian covered her mouth and smirked mischievously, "Uncle is indeed formidable, making Fourth Brother as ek as a cat." Then, seeing Old Master Luo’s disgruntled look, she continued on her own, "Grandpa is really amazing. Without Grandpa, how could we have such an impressive uncle?"
Yue Tingyu retracted her gaze and chuckled secretly in the kitchen. Luo Qianqian sure had a way of easily turning Grandpa Luo’s frown upside down.
By the ti Luo Yanran finished running, Luo Qianqian had already finished her al. She sighed as she watched Luo Yanran panting heavily and collapsing on the ground, then handed him a cup of warm milk, "Your physical fitness really needs so work, doesn’t it?"
Luo Yanran gulped down the milk and, after catching his breath, glared and said, "You try being chased by a ’Killer God’ with a cold face. If he catches you, he kicks you."
Luo Xiying followed him into the house, slightly out of breath. Unlike Luo Yanran’s disheveled appearance, Luo Xiying was only slightly sweaty with a faint flush on his face.
Luo Qianqian casually passed over a towel, smiling, "Fourth Brother, you really need to get in shape for Nuannuan’s happiness."
Luo Xiying and Old Master Luo imdiately frowned. Did this child know what she was talking about?
Luo Yanran imdiately jumped up, clutching the cup, "Do you know what you’re saying?" His face slowly reddened, different from his previous exhaustion, his face and neck were thoroughly flushed.
Luo Qianqian stuck out her tongue, "How could I not know? I’m a college student after all."
Luo Xiying frowned and looked at Luo Qianqian, "You’re still young, don’t..."
"I know." Luo Qianqian interrupted Luo Xiying, "I’m just caring for my good friend here, Fourth Brother. You really need to work out, your abs are turning into fat."
Before they could finish their discussion, they heard the sound of a car and looked toward the door. Luo Qianqian’s eyes widened. Though the car was familiar, having brought her ho just yesterday, wasn’t this too early?
Checking the ti, she was surprised to find it was already eight o’clock.
"I’m going to take a shower." After a quick glance, Luo Xiying pushed Luo Yanran upstairs.
Luo Qianqian paused for a mont, and then with a smile at the door, watched Jimo Cheng get out of the car. Baozi was obediently sitting by her feet, not jumping around or making a fuss.
Then, with Luo Qianqian’s eyes wide in astonishnt, she watched the driver carry dozens of bags towards her.
And then, they stopped in front of her.
Jimo Cheng stepped forward, "Jin Yue, good morning."
Luo Qianqian nodded, "Good morning, what’s all this..." her hand trembled slightly as she pointed at the driver behind him.
"It’s my first visit, and I wasn’t sure what to bring, so I just brought so things randomly." Jimo Cheng looked sowhat embarrassed, "Is it too early? Grandpa said it’s better to be early than late."
"Not at all," Luo Qianqian said with a light smile, "Please co in."
After the driver placed the things inside, he said, "Young Master Jin Nian, I’ll be heading back now. Please contact when you need to return."
Jimo Cheng nodded, "Thank you for your hard work."
He then turned to Old Master Luo and bowed slightly, "Grandpa Luo, good morning. Grandpa asked to send his regards."
