Sophie Wilson finally finished shopping with Lucy Wells, then drove her ho. After helping her haul all the big and small bags upstairs and politely turning down the warm invitation from the Wells Clan, she finally got back in her car and headed ho.
When Sophie got ho, she took a look at what the kitchen was planning for dinner and told the chef to add a squirrel fish. She was craving it.
The day had completely wiped her out.
Now she truly understood what "going shopping" actually ant.
In the past, whenever she bought sothing, she’d just beeline for the counter, pay, grab the bag, and leave.
She suddenly felt like she was way too rough around the edges to be a woman. No idea how her Mr. Seymour managed to put up with her.
Sophie grabbed so juice and chips and went upstairs. She’d only gotten halfway through the movie when her phone rang.
She glanced at the screen, wiped her fingers clean, then picked up and answered, "Hey, bro, what’s up?"
"Hey, sis, can I ask you sothing?" Kai Bright sounded weak and listless, like he’d just finished a marathon and collapsed on the ground.
"Ask away." Sophie said generously.
"Why did you and Lucy buy so many lipsticks?" Kai complained.
"Bro, don’t you know won have decision paralysis? A single lipstick even has pearly and matte versions, it’s super hard to choose. So I just bought all of them. Lucy can use whichever she likes." Sophie said proudly. "Aren’t I smart? Hurry up and praise !"
"Praise you?" Kai practically yelled in exaggerated outrage. "I–I–I... I oughta smack you!"
"Do you have any idea that even for an engagent, you only need one lipstick at most? What am I supposed to do with all these? Do you know how painful it is to choose?" Kai was on the verge of a breakdown.
"I know, that’s why I bought them all for Lucy." Sophie said cheerfully. "I’m leaving this tough mission to you."
Kai: "..."
"Sis, you did this on purpose, didn’t you?" Kai honestly couldn’t think of any other explanation.
"Yup, bro." Sophie admitted frankly. "Bro, you have no idea, I spent the whole day helping Lucy pick things out today. I’ve been making choices non-stop."
"She’s your future sister-in-law and your bestie." Kai coaxed her. "Your sister-in-law only gets this one chance in a lifeti."
"Bro, your dear little sister really can’t handle it. I totally don’t have the gene for this kind of shopping." Sophie wailed.
She was really happy hanging out with Lucy, but just... not when it involved shopping.
She really was not cut out for that activity.
For her, this was like the ultimate torture, way too cruel.
"Haven’t you been engaged before? You’ve got experience." Kai still tried to persuade her. He’d gone shopping with Lucy a few tis himself and had practically had a ntal collapse; he’d rather go take on a mission.
"I don’t have any experience. Mr. Seymour handled all of that. All I had to do was show up at the engagent." Sophie’s answer left Kai speechless. "Could you be any lazier?"
"Mm, that depends on how much my Mr. Seymour spoils in the future." Sophie said with a grin, shoving a big mouthful of coupledom "dog food" down Kai’s throat, nearly choking him to death on it.
"Bro, you’re a man. You need to take on a man’s responsibilities. Don’t be such a wuss. Have a little masculinity, will you?" Sophie asked in open disdain.
He... had no... masculinity?
Kai was so furious he wanted to climb through the phone and hit her!
