Isn’t it like being struck by lightning?
Hayley Cole and Jas Reed stood there as if they were struck by thunder, utterly petrified.
Their minds were a ss, with several questions swelling and expanding in their brains, finally squeezing every bit of space full, not even leaving a tiny gap.
How could this happen?
Is Sophie Wilson’s uncle an engineer?
Wasn’t he a university professor?
Both Jas Reed and Hayley Cole had investigated and knew the general situation of Sophie Wilson’s family.
Of course they knew and were acquainted with Jerry Taylor, he was the scholarly university professor, often traveling because of academic matters, going to remote places, sotis even where there was no mobile signal.
So... was all that a disguise of his identity?
Looking at the two who were so arrogant just now, now shocked like fools, Sophie felt sheer delight.
Sophie sensed a familiar presence approaching, turned, and gave Charles Seymour a sweet smile while he was holding an ice cream cone.
"What’s going on?" Charles Seymour asked in a grim tone.
Causing trouble for Sophie while he’s not around, are they seeking death?
"It’s nothing," Sophie said with a grin. "Just now Miss Cole told her dad is a chairman, and he can help her husband a lot..."
"Nepotism is a cri!" Charles Seymour’s cold and hard words directly interrupted Sophie Wilson, placing a definitive judgnt on Hayley Cole’s indulgence.
Sophie burst into laughter: "Not yet. Chairman Cole hasn’t helped Jas Reed. But, Miss Cole bragged to that her dad is an engineer. So, I let her see that my uncle is also an engineer, and my uncle dotes on ."
"Alas... there’s no way. I’m just so fortunate that I don’t even want to rely on connections, but I’m surrounded by them, it’s truly botherso," Sophie "regretfully" lanted, "Miss Cole, rest assured, Mr. Seymour isn’t the type to rely on connections, so you don’t need to worry that he’ll bully you and your husband."
Sophie’s words snapped Hayley Cole and Jas Reed back to reality, though her infuriating words only made them more upset.
"Is having connections such a big deal?" Hayley Cole asked angrily.
"I don’t think it’s a big deal," Sophie said helplessly, spreading her hands, "You seem to be the one who thinks it’s remarkable."
"Look, you insisted on talking to about it. If it hadn’t been for the news broadcast, I wouldn’t have talked about it. Why worry about a relative’s identity?" Sophie’s casual words made Hayley Cole gnash her teeth in anger.
"But, be careful, don’t let your husband provoke Mr. Seymour. Otherwise, Mr. Seymour will not be lenient," Sophie said as she took Charles Seymour’s arm and left.
As they turned, Hayley Cole asked nervously, "Jas, why didn’t you tell Sophie Wilson’s uncle is also an engineer?"
"I didn’t know either," Jas Reed maintained a calm deanor, though his sweaty palms revealed his deepest thoughts.
He thought marrying Hayley Cole, with a chairman as his father-in-law, would give him the upper hand over Charles Seymour.
But, why... why is Sophie Wilson’s uncle also an engineer?
Who doesn’t know about Hayley Cole’s relationship with her father?
It’s definitely at the point where they loathe the sight of each other!
