Sophie Wilson had just placed her bag down at her spot when Lucy Wells hurriedly dragged her into the stairwell, anxiously asking, "Sophie, how about I let my boyfriend’s buddy pretend to be your boyfriend?"
"Lucy, you’re getting bold now," Sophie Wilson burst into laughter. Besides having Eva as a "good friend," she also had Lucy Wells as a good buddy in the company.
Lucy Wells was not only quiet but also timid and introverted, sowhat weak when it ca to arguing, unlike Eva, who was outspoken.
Sophie Wilson really hadn’t expected Lucy Wells to co up with such a bold suggestion.
Lucy Wells stamped her foot in urgency. "Oh, co on, it’s this ti already. If you don’t have a boyfriend to pick you up after work, who knows how rumors will spread about you in the company later. Words can be daunting!"
Lucy Wells was also a bit unfortunate. Her mother had her out of wedlock, sothing sensational back in the eighties.
It’s safe to say that Lucy Wells and her mother deeply understood the aning of the phrase "words can be daunting."
Sophie Wilson knew Lucy Wells was looking out for her, afraid she’d be gossiped about.
"Lucy, I really do have a boyfriend." Sophie Wilson held her hand, smiling, "Just hadn’t agreed to be with him before, so I didn’t tell you."
"Really?" Lucy Wells didn’t mind at all that her good friend hid this from her; instead, she breathed a sigh of relief, patting her chest, "That’s good, that’s good."
"Hurry up and call your boyfriend, I won’t hold you up," Lucy Wells said considerately before leaving Sophie Wilson so space.
Sophie Wilson smiled, realizing she’d been tricked by Eva, but at least she still had Lucy Wells as a good friend.
She wasn’t too much of a failure at life.
Sophie Wilson took out her phone and called Charles Seymour. The phone rang just once before it was answered, and an icy, concise voice capable of freezing soone ca through: "Speak."
Sophie Wilson looked at the instantly answered call, wondering if he really was okay with being so bipolar.
"I want to discuss sothing with you." Sophie Wilson giggled and acted coy.
"No way!" Charles Seymour’s voice ca through the receiver, losing none of its chilling coldness, showing just how strong his cooling ability was—surely a talent competitive freezer manufacturers would fight over.
Sophie Wilson was speechless, "I haven’t even said anything yet!"
"Humph," Charles Seymour snorted coldly, "Do you want to default or pay in advance? Since you agreed to be my test subject, I won’t accept any advance paynt plan!"
Sophie Wilson really wanted to pry open soone’s head to see if his brain was structured too "genius-like."
"I’m not soone who breaks promises; if I say I’ll do it, I will. You don’t have to worry!" But knowing Charles Seymour was concerned about her health, Sophie Wilson could only assure him to prevent him from worrying too much.
Considering that this guy, like a grim reaper, might worry... how incongruous is that?
"Then what are you calling about?" Charles Seymour’s brain finally returned to a normal person’s thinking, and his chilly tone softened a bit.
"I want you to do a favor." Sophie Wilson’s voice softened, with a delicate whine.
"What kind of favor?" The temperature in his voice increased a few more degrees.
"Pretend to be my boyfriend." As soon as Sophie Wilson finished speaking, she heard a burst of chaos from the other side of the phone.
