"Hmm, I’ll go ask." Sophie Wilson nodded and walked out.
"Why did you co over?" Sophie Wilson stood outside the private room and asked curiously.
She had told Charles Seymour that Clarissa was inviting her today, and he had shown no reaction, confidently allowing her to co alone.
So why did he follow her here?
"There’s a client nearby to discuss with, I just finished, so I ca over to eat." Charles Seymour said earnestly, without a hint of guilt, and Sophie Wilson naturally believed him.
"I’m having dinner here with Aunt Taylor; do you want to join us?"
"Won’t it be an inconvenience?" Charles Seymour asked.
Sophie Wilson had just opened her mouth, not yet had a chance to speak, when she saw Charles Seymour already stepping into the private room, and then she heard his voice: "Sure."
Sophie Wilson blinked in confusion, feeling that... sothing seed, sohow, a little off.
Sophie Wilson didn’t have ti to think more, followed him inside, and introduced them to each other: "Aunt Taylor, this is my boyfriend, Charles Seymour. Charles, this is Aunt Clarissa Taylor, whom I’ve ntioned to you before."
"Hello." Clarissa smiled and extended her hand.
Charles Seymour looked at the hand in front of him, and eventually shook it: "Hello."
"Co, co, sit down and eat with us." Clarissa slightly smiled and invited, "Sophie calls Aunt Taylor, I’ll just call you Charles, is that okay?"
Sophie Wilson looked at Charles Seymour, and Charles nodded stiffly.
Clarissa seed as if she didn’t notice Charles Seymour’s unease, handing him the nu: "See if there’s anything you’d like to eat, and order a few more dishes."
Watching Charles Seymour looking down at the nu, Clarissa smiled softly.
Being of such age, let alone claiming wisdom, but certainly, she had an eye for people.
Sophie’s boyfriend is not simple.
When shaking hands with her, though there was a mont of hesitation, she could tell that Charles Seymour was clearly not accustod to shaking hands.
Basic social etiquette always involves handshakes; it shouldn’t be unfamiliar.
Typically, there are only two kinds of people who are not accustod to it: those who never have the chance for such social interactions, struggling at the bottom, or those... who never have anyone daring to extend a hand unless they do so first.
Because such people hold a status high enough that even her husband doesn’t quite reach that level.
The Wilson Clan is a very decent family in the Imperial City, but compared to those top-tier families, there’s still so distance.
It seems that Sophie’s boyfriend is quite extraordinary.
The slight air of authority he exudes isn’t sothing that can be easily faked.
Charles Seymour glanced at the dishes on the table, called the waiter to confirm which dishes hadn’t been served yet, and then skillfully ordered two more.
Just by the choice of flavors, they didn’t seem like sothing a man would typically choose.
Clarissa held back a laugh, thinking that no matter the status of Charles Seymour, at least his intentions towards Sophie were beyond question.
He’s not the type to just play around.
Clarissa felt quite reassured.
Though she had only t Sophie Wilson twice, they got along exceptionally well, making Clarissa regard Sophie as a junior of her own.
When all the dishes were served, the atmosphere at the table was quite pleasant. Though Charles Seymour wasn’t much of a talker, there was certainly no awkward silence.
Especially when Sophie Wilson talked excitedly, her eyes sparkling with excitent, his already gentle gaze beca even more tender, with no one else in his eyes but Sophie.
