Of course, Clarissa Taylor didn’t know what Charles Seymour was thinking. She just felt that after ntioning her relationship with Kai Bright, sothing about Charles Seymour seed a bit different.
This tiny difference, upon closer inspection, was hard to pinpoint.
But one could clearly feel that Charles Seymour seed softer, lacking the earlier restrained pressure.
At 1:30, Charles Seymour spoke up, "Aunt Taylor, you still have an injury, right?"
Clarissa was taken aback. Was Charles Seymour actually showing concern for her?
You can’t bla her for thinking this way; after all, Charles Seymour never gave the impression of soone who cared about things outside of the people he cared about.
It sounds a bit clunky, but to put it simply, to him, aside from the people he cares about, everyone else might as well not exist.
Although Clarissa was puzzled, she still smiled and said, "It’s not a big deal, it’s almost healed."
"Even so, it’s better to pay attention," Charles Seymour said with concern, "Rest more, to recover better."
Clarissa instantly understood and nodded, "You’re right."
Then Clarissa jokingly talked to Sophie Wilson about how considerate her boyfriend was, making Sophie blush and smile shyly.
After casually chatting for a bit, Clarissa suggested eting again next ti.
Once they left the private room, Clarissa only then discovered that Charles Seymour had already settled the bill and said sowhat unhappily, "I said I would treat Sophie to the al."
"When I’m around, how can I let an elder pay?" Charles Seymour’s lips curved slightly, clearly in a good mood, "If Aunt Taylor wants to treat Sophie, let’s do it next ti."
Clarissa had a strange feeling that the word "elder" in Charles Seymour’s sentence was the key point.
Though it wasn’t wrong considering her age, it still felt a bit awkward?
It seed like Charles Seymour was implying sothing.
Of course, Clarissa also understood that when Charles Seymour ntioned an elder, he wasn’t mocking her age.
However, she simply couldn’t figure out the hidden aning in Charles Seymour’s words.
Even though Clarissa couldn’t guess it, she left the restaurant, knowing that since Charles Seymour drove, she wouldn’t compete to take Sophie Wilson ho.
Clarissa made her way ho, still unable to figure out what Charles Seymour ant.
However, one thing she did understand at that ti.
Charles Seymour truly loved Sophie Wilson deeply, and he didn’t hesitate to use the excuse of letting her rest well to end the date, just to make sure Sophie Wilson could go back for a nap.
Clarissa parked the car and walked into her ho.
"Aunt."
"Kai, why are you here?" Clarissa asked in surprise, "Weren’t you abroad?"
"Just ca back a few days ago." Kai Bright replied with a smile, "I ca to see you, Aunt. I brought so local specialties for you."
Seeing the pile of bags and boxes Kai Bright had brought in the living room, Clarissa laughed and said, "You always think of your aunt wherever you go; it wasn’t for nothing that I care about you."
"Of course." Kai Bright chuckled, "Aunt, how did you get to know my friend?"
The topic seed to shift unintentionally, but Kai Bright’s curiosity was about to burst.
"Charles?" Clarissa’s affectionate way of addressing him made Kai Bright’s eyes widen in shock.
Seeing his reaction, Clarissa smiled gently, "It seems I guessed right after all, Sophie’s boyfriend..."
