"What I an is, thank you for your help, otherwise, I would have missed such a great guy." Unlike Eva’s exasperation, Sophie Wilson smiled sincerely as she expressed her gratitude.
However, it was clear that Eva didn’t appreciate Sophie’s goodwill; instead, she beca so furious her face turned a shade that could easily cosplay as a ghost from the underworld at Halloween.
"By the way, give your phone." Sophie stretched her hand out towards Charles Seymour.
Without a mont’s hesitation, Charles handed his phone over to Sophie.
Luckily, the reborn Sophie still rembered how to use the keypad phone. Navigating through the nu with a smile, she said, "Eva, let find the text ssages you sent to my boyfriend."
"What are you looking for? Who knows what kind of nonsense you’re talking about!" Eva couldn’t care less about feeling jealous, and in her panic, she cursed and turned her head to push through the crowd of onlookers, "Why aren’t you all having lunch? Move aside, move aside!"
Lucas Payten also quickly followed behind Eva, scurrying away with his tail between his legs.
Although no one saw the text ssages Eva sent to Sophie’s boyfriend on his phone, wasn’t Eva’s reaction enough to explain everything?
Eva genuinely believed Sophie’s boyfriend was her debtor, and she sold Sophie out.
"Hey, that girl... I didn’t even show her the ssages, and she’s already running away?" Sophie shouted in the direction Eva had fled.
"Guilty conscience, I guess," a nearby colleague scoffed.
"I really don’t get it. We’re supposedly good friends, but why would she stab in the back like this?" Sophie muttered, clutching the phone with a hint of grievance.
"Jealousy," a colleague insightfully pointed out. "In our company, Lucas Payten is the only young unmarried guy. When he first joined, Eva already had her eyes on him. Who would’ve thought Lucas would go after you? How could she not be jealous?"
"Sophie, you should be more careful in the future and not trust just anyone," an older colleague advised earnestly.
"Got it, thank you." Sophie knew that so colleagues were genuinely decent and wouldn’t all be biased towards Eva, being President Palr’s niece.
"But I also need to thank her; if it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have gotten together with my boyfriend so quickly." Sophie’s sweet smile elicited gentle laughter from those around her.
"Good thing she didn’t see it." Charles took his phone back from Sophie and opened the ssage inbox for her to see. There were no ssages from Eva at all.
"Why aren’t there any ssages from her?" Sophie asked, surprised.
Charles looked at Sophie puzzledly, "Why would I keep ssages that aren’t from you?"
Sugar overload, seriously!
"Oh my, oh my... I can’t take it, Sophie, you two are so sweet you’re giving us a toothache."
"Let’s go eat, let’s go eat; we can’t watch this anymore, it’s blinding our eyes."
"Forget lunch, we’re full from watching your love story."
With a bang, Sophie really exploded, didn’t she?
Her face was burning hot, ready to explode.
She decided from her rebirth that she absolutely wanted to be with Charles, yet in both her lifetis, she’d never been in a relationship.
She wanted to flirt with him, but who would have thought she’d be the one getting teased first?
Really... so embarrassing!
She didn’t even need a mirror to know her face was beet red and beyond bearable.
"Not talking to you guys anymore, I’m going to eat!" Sophie stomped her foot, turned, and dashed into the stairwell.
