Of course, she understood that Sophie was helping her.
She would work very hard and not let Sophie down for trusting her.
"By the way, how’s your uncle?" Sophie Wilson asked.
When this was brought up, Lucy Wells’s expression turned a bit complex: "Sentenced to seven years."
"So, it seems that the amount of counterfeit products sold was not small." Sophie nodded, "Didn’t your aunt co looking for trouble with you?"
"Where we currently live, she still doesn’t know. As for the future... I don’t know." Lucy shook her head and said.
"I suggest you move back." Amid Lucy’s surprise, Sophie handed her a CD, "Go back and watch this. If your aunt tries to make trouble again, threaten her that you’ll send this video to her son’s company email."
"What is this?" Lucy asked curiously.
"A video of your aunt with Joshua Wright," Sophie sneered, "Back then, Joshua Wright discovered the issues with your uncle’s company products. To keep him quiet, besides giving him money, they also promised to introduce you to him as his girlfriend."
Lucy went pale upon hearing this.
She clutched the edge of the table with her hands, her knuckles turning white from the force.
"Such a great uncle and aunt!" Lucy gritted her teeth and said hatefully. She wondered why her aunt had been so enthusiastic back then.
"Sophie, thank you, I know what to do now." Lucy said with a determined look.
In the past, she was really wrong. She needed to protect her mother, not by compromising, but by being strong.
Sophie gave a slight smile. As for why she had this CD, that was a question for the ever-low-profile Charles Seymour.
She had simply complained at ho about how shaless Lucy’s uncle and aunt were, and then, this thing appeared in her possession.
After chatting with Lucy for a while, the two of them finally parted ways.
Sophie went to the main office, while Lucy went back to finish her current tasks and then followed Edward Palr to transfer to the main office.
As for why Sophie suddenly beca the boss of the company, Lucy didn’t investigate at all.
Everyone has their own privacy. As a friend, she knew what to say and what not to say.
When Sophie arrived at the main office, her actions were decisive and efficient.
"Why?" Alia Cooper couldn’t believe it when she heard she was being dismissed, asking the HR manager.
"It’s President Wilson’s decision." The HR manager replied formally.
"Why are we being dismissed? Without even a reason! Are you all okay with this?" Alia turned to ask the colleagues who were also suddenly dismissed.
Those people shook their heads repeatedly; they weren’t crazy, why would they be content with being dismissed?
Now the company’s cooperation with President Payten had caused a surge in business.
With more business, their commissions would increase too.
Now was the ti for the company’s rapid growth, with a promising outlook. They weren’t fools; why would they want to leave now?
"Let’s go, let’s demand an explanation from President Wilson!" Alia led the way out indignantly.
As soon as they went out, they saw Sophie walking down the corridor.
Alia quickly blocked Sophie’s path and said fearlessly, "President Wilson, we have sothing to discuss with you."
"Oh, what’s the matter?" Sophie asked with a smile, completely unflustered.
"What exactly did we do wrong to be dismissed?" Alia questioned.
"You want a reason, huh?" Sophie laughed, spreading her hands innocently, "Because I feel like it."
