"Going out to eat with your sister-in-law," Mason Wilson said casually.

"Brother, why are you still going out to eat with your sister-in-law? Ophelia just ca back today, don’t you know you should spend ti with her?" Erie Wilson frowned and complained with dissatisfaction, "You’re too inconsiderate of Ophelia."

"Auntie, Dad and Mom probably have social engagents," Ophelia Wilson said understandingly with a smile, "Dad, Mom, you should go ahead. Don’t worry about ."

"You’re just too understanding. It’s the crying child that gets the candy," Erie Wilson muttered softly.

"Auntie, am I not making you happy accompanying you?" Ophelia Wilson pouted and acted cute, imdiately coaxing Erie Wilson into laughter, "Happy, of course, I’m happy."

Then, Ophelia Wilson winked at Mason Wilson and Clarissa Taylor, signaling them to take the opportunity to leave quickly.

Mason Wilson smiled slightly and left with Clarissa Taylor.

All the way, Clarissa Taylor clutched her purse tightly and didn’t say a word.

Mason Wilson drove straight to Clarissa Taylor’s favorite Cantonese restaurant, having already reserved a spot, and upon arrival, they were led into a private room.

After ordering the dishes Clarissa Taylor usually liked, Mason Wilson poured her a glass of fruit tea and then asked, "Clarissa, what’s wrong?"

"Mason." Clarissa Taylor sighed heavily, as if gathering a great deal of determination before speaking, "You know, ever since Ophelia was little, I’ve felt distant from her."

"I’ve always thought it was because when she was born, the hemorrhage almost caused a crisis, so I had so shadows over Ophelia. I’ve been trying hard to compensate."

Just as Clarissa Taylor said this, Mason Wilson held her hand: "This has nothing to do with you."

The situation back then was extrely critical; they almost couldn’t save her, and even when they did, she stayed in the intensive care unit for a week.

During that ti, he was constantly worried, but luckily, everything turned out fine in the end.

"Actually, I felt that when Ophelia was younger, our relationship was okay. But as she grew up... I don’t know whether it’s because of adolescence, I feel more and more distant from her." Clarissa Taylor clenched her fingers forcefully, leaving nail marks on them as if she was insensible to pain.

Clarissa Taylor’s state made Mason Wilson soften his voice with concern: "Clarissa, did sothing happen?"

"What did you feel the last ti you saw Sophie Wilson?" Clarissa Taylor suddenly asked.

Mason Wilson was stunned, not expecting the topic to suddenly shift to soone else, but answered honestly: "She seed like a very enthusiastic, easy-going girl."

Clarissa Taylor exhaled heavily, as if making so decision, "Do you think Sophie might be our daughter?"

Mason Wilson’s eyes widened suddenly, his mind roaring as if sothing had exploded, and after a while, he managed to squeeze out a few hoarse words: "Clarissa, why would you think that?"

"Because..." Clarissa Taylor repeated Sophie Wilson’s account to Mason Wilson, then pursed her lips and asked, "Sophie is my lifesaver, but Ophelia didn’t help her, and even sided with Grace Wilson against her?"

"Moreover..." Clarissa Taylor said painfully, "I don’t know if it’s because I’m being petty, but Ophelia and Erie have always been very close. They seem more like mother and daughter, whereas I seem more like a distant relative."
