Sophie is clever; she couldn’t possibly not be suspicious.
The last ti she swiftly saved Clarissa, it was enough to make her suspicious. Plus, this ti there’s no need for a stunt double...any normal person would find sothing amiss.
"Yes," Sophie Wilson’s response was within Charles Seymour’s expectations. Thinking about it didn’t an he wasn’t nervous.
It’s just that he controlled his facial expressions very well, not showing a hint of panic, looking at Sophie Wilson very calmly.
Sophie Wilson bit her lip in embarrassnt, lowered her eyes, and twisted the edge of the pillow with her fingers, seemingly struggling internally.
The mont Charles Seymour saw Sophie Wilson like this, his earlier anxiety was long gone. Whatever she wanted to know, she could just ask, and he would definitely tell her.
All the tension was replaced by deep heartache, his heart like a towel being wrung fiercely, so pained it made him tremble.
He simply couldn’t stand seeing her troubled.
"I..." Charles Seymour opened his mouth, intending to tell her everything, and at that mont, Sophie Wilson also spoke, "I miss you. When are you coming over?"
Sophie Wilson looked up, her eyes bright like a little kitten looking at its owner.
The intense longing was so openly displayed in front of Charles Seymour, it was like his heart’s softest spot was struck, making his bleeding heart tingle and itch.
He couldn’t help but want to pull her into his arms and give her hair a good rub.
"Tomorrow afternoon’s flight," Charles Seymour said in a hoarse voice, struggling to control his urge, the urge to fly to her side right now.
"Okay, I’ll wait for you," Sophie Wilson said with a smile, blowing him a kiss.
Charles Seymour cleared his throat, his cheeks slightly flushed unnaturally.
"Make sure to rest well tonight and be careful on the way tomorrow, understood?" Sophie Wilson instructed worriedly, in that tone of speaking only a child, but only she dared to do so.
Charles Seymour obediently nodded on the other side, "Mm, I know."
The doorbell rang, and Sophie Wilson said with a smile, "Dinner has arrived, I’m off to eat dinner."
"Alright," Charles Seymour nodded, "I’ll go pack my things."
"See you tomorrow," Sophie Wilson happily blew another kiss at the screen, watching Charles Seymour’s seemingly embarrassed smile, and laughed as she closed the video.
Once the video was disconnected, Charles Seymour leaned back, covering his eyes with one hand, and a low, joyful laugh escaped his thin lips.
Sophie, how can you be so adorable?
So... considerate?
With her intelligence, how could she not realize the abnormal things about herself?
That she didn’t ask, the trust she places in him... so heavy, weighing on his heart, making him almost unable to breathe.
Charles Seymour put down his hand, his long fingers gently tapping on the armrest of the chair.
He, a man, is he really less than Sophie?
She trusts him so much, completely depends on him, so why should he hide everything from the past?
When he gets there, he will tell her everything from before, even if she turns and leaves him...he has to do this.
Having made up his mind, Charles Seymour suddenly felt the entire person relaxed, got up, and returned to his room to pack his belongings.
Just as he left the study, he heard a familiar rushed footstep from below.
