"This feeling is hard to describe. When I gave birth to you, I had a severe hemorrhage and was in intensive care for a few days." Clarissa sighed lightly.
"That ti was chaotic, who would have thought that you would be taken away?" Clarissa said, increasingly blaming herself. What if she had been more careful back then?
How could her daughter be separated from her for so many years? They have been apart for over twenty years.
Sophie smiled and shook her head, "You had just given birth, how could you be careful?"
"Sophie, don’t worry, I will definitely investigate what happened back then." Clarissa said firmly. No matter who it was or for what reason, she absolutely wouldn’t let go of anyone who swapped her daughter.
"Hmm." Sophie nodded, not having too many thoughts on it.
Clarissa looked at Sophie, knowing she still couldn’t quite accept their mother-daughter relationship, but that was understandable, and she could empathize.
"Your Uncle Wilson also ca." Clarissa decided to back off a little, not to pressure the child too much, "He felt a bit awkward, so he didn’t co in to see you."
Sophie nodded to show her understanding. After all, at this ti, it wouldn’t be appropriate for even a man who could be her father to visit her hotel room.
"We decided not to tell Ophelia about this yet." Clarissa’s words made Sophie suddenly look up, a bit surprised at Clarissa.
Clarissa smiled, doing everything she could for Sophie: "I think Ophelia might already know about her identity, so I want to investigate secretly."
"I have raised Ophelia for over twenty years, and I don’t wish for what I’ve raised to turn out to be ungrateful." Clarissa’s face didn’t look good when she talked about Ophelia.
Over the years, she never felt close to Ophelia, but she believed she had done everything a mother could do.
If Ophelia is really plotting against their family behind their backs, she won’t easily let her go.
"Alright, Sophie, it’s getting late, you should rest." Clarissa had said everything she needed to say and got up to leave, knowing Sophie had had a tiring day and needed her rest. She didn’t want to delay the child’s rest.
Even if she really wanted to hold Sophie’s hand and talk with her all night, she still held back.
Sophie closed the door, and the first thing she did was call Charles Seymour and tell him what happened.
Charles’s voice ca clearly through the receiver to Sophie’s ear: "Clarissa isn’t bad at all."
Sophie wasn’t naive; she understood what Charles ant when he said that.
"Are you saying Mason doesn’t like this result?" Sophie smiled. She didn’t do the test to return to the Wilson Clan, just to figure out her identity and why Ophelia was backing Grace in opposing her.
"If he doesn’t like it, then that’s his problem, what’s it got to do with ?" Sophie said indifferently. In her life, the only person she cared about was Charles Seymour; as for others... if they were kind to her, she’d reciprocate; if they weren’t, she absolutely wouldn’t fawn over them.
After hearing Sophie say that, Charles’s eyes darkened. Sophie used to be imnsely envious of those with happy families, which was why he always supported her in taking the test.
If Mason couldn’t provide Sophie with a happy family, then he would.
