Benjamin Walton’s lips curled up as he nodded and said, "You’ve done well, truly kind-hearted."
"Exactly, you have no idea how much Chaya has suffered all these years." Seeing Benjamin Walton share her sentint, Erie Wilson said happily, having finally found an ally.
"Benjamin, if I’d known you thought the sa, I would have told you long ago instead of bottling this up for over twenty years. You have no idea how I’ve suffered all these years." As she spoke, Erie Wilson began to wipe her tears again.
"Alright, don’t be sad anymore. It’s my fault for not realizing sooner. If I had, how could I let you bear all this yourself?" Benjamin Walton affectionately held Erie Wilson’s hand and said a bunch of sweet words she liked, finally coaxing her into a better mood.
"You’ve had a long day, you should rest soon. I’ll go talk to the old man about the company matters." Benjamin Walton said with a smile, "You’re the eldest daughter of the Wilson Clan, I can’t slack off in business and let you lose face at your family ho."
Benjamin Walton’s thoughtfulness made Erie Wilson feel as sweet as if she’d eaten honey, utterly delighted.
"You shouldn’t tire yourself out either." With that, Erie Wilson pecked Benjamin Walton and went back to her room to wash up and rest.
Benjamin Walton turned and went upstairs to the old man’s room.
"Dad." After Benjamin Walton finished explaining the situation to Old Mr. Walton, the old man, who had weathered countless ups and downs in his lifeti in the business world, was also taken aback.
"Is Erie Wilson an idiot?" Old Mr. Walton scolded, "Chaya is pitiful, but isn’t Mason Wilson? His own daughter was sent away just after birth, raising soone else’s child."
Old Mr. Walton snorted, "Back then, if Chaya didn’t like Clarissa Taylor’s elder brother, she didn’t have to marry. After marrying, she still dreamt of another man; a fickle woman like that, in the old days, would have been beaten to death."
"Benjamin, Erie Wilson and Chaya Davis are good friends, could she also..."
"Dad, rest assured." Benjamin Walton smiled confidently, "Erie is devoted to , with her lack of brains, how could she ever be a match for ?"
Old Mr. Walton felt reassured upon hearing this: "How do you plan to handle this matter?"
"I want to talk to Ophelia Wilson." Benjamin Walton’s smile was full of sches, "Recently, Seymour, Clark and White are all fiercely competing for that project, and right now, Jas Reed hopes for the Wilson Clan’s support."
"Ophelia Wilson also wants to marry Jas Reed, she probably doesn’t want any accidents to happen."
Old Mr. Walton imdiately understood his son’s thoughts: "Our Walton Family can also take a share?"
"I will strive for it." Benjamin Walton said with a smile, "Dad, did your son not marry the right woman?"
"Good, good!" Old Mr. Walton laughed heartily, "Son, you truly married a ’virtuous wife’."
While the Walton Family was calculating how to secure more benefits, on the other side, Sophie Wilson happily hung her clothes neatly, stepped back a few paces, and admired them joyfully.
"What are you looking at?" Charles Seymour ca in with a glass of warm milk, curiously watching Sophie Wilson standing in front of the wardrobe.
"Looking at clothes." Sophie Wilson said joyfully.
Charles Seymour was puzzled: "What’s so special about clothes?"
Of course, the person wearing the clothes is what’s beautiful.
This sentence Charles Seymour did not say aloud, he rely gave Sophie Wilson a deep look, thinking about the slender waist outlined by the clothes she wore tonight, he inexplicably felt... a bit thirsty.
