Jas Reed and Old Mrs. Wilson walked towards the kitchen. Each floor of the Imperial Hotel has its own kitchen, and the ingredients prepared vary in quality.
Undoubtedly, the higher the floor, the better the quality of the ingredients.
Once in the kitchen, Jas Reed first greeted and thanked the head chef.
Old Mrs. Wilson took a look and gasped, "Isn’t this Master Jackson?"
"You’re too kind," Master Jackson said with a smile. His chubby appearance, when he smiles, is as joyful and adorable as a freshly baked bun. Although he’s almost fifty, he doesn’t look old at all; he’s quite spirited.
"It’s such an honor for us to have you as the head chef," Old Mrs. Wilson said excitedly, shaking Master Jackson’s hand vigorously several tis.
Master Jackson, ever since his ntor retired, has been the head chef for state banquets for almost ten years.
Not to ntion, he often represents the country at top international culinary exchanges, garnering praise and admiration from countless international friends.
"You’re too kind," Master Jackson replied humbly with a smile, "As long as you are satisfied with the dishes at the banquet, it will be the greatest complint for ."
"Satisfied, absolutely satisfied!" Old Mrs. Wilson couldn’t control the expression on his face, excitent written all over, so much that he didn’t know what to say. A man of his age suddenly becoming as gleeful as an old child.
"Well, I’ll go prepare for the banquet now. Please excuse ," Master Jackson, accustod to grand occasions, wouldn’t let anything affect his cooking. If the quality of the dishes were compromised, it would be his failure as a chef.
"Sure, sure, we truly trouble you, Master Jackson," Old Mrs. Wilson acknowledged that they shouldn’t delay the chef, repeatedly expressing his gratitude, before leaving the kitchen with Jas Reed, with a smile on his face that never faded. "Jas, you’re quite sothing, managing to invite Master Jackson here."
He knew that the eighth floor’s kitchen was usually managed by Master Jackson’s apprentices.
These apprentices, although young, had remarkably high culinary skills and had won nurous awards.
It was said that the ninth floor was supervised by Master Jackson’s disciples.
However, Old Mrs. Wilson felt especially proud today. The head chef of this kitchen was actually the master of the ninth floor’s head chef. Although they might not reach the ninth floor, the eighth floor’s standards were not much different, especially with Jas’ arrangents today making it more prestigious than the ninth floor.
Satisfied!
He was extrely satisfied!
"Getting engaged to Ophelia must be celebrated grandly," Jas Reed said with a smile.
Old Mrs. Wilson nodded continuously with satisfaction, inwardly thankful for his wise decision to keep Ophelia in the Wilson Clan.
If he had followed that rascal Mason’s plan, could the Wilson Clan be so splendid today?
Just as Old Mrs. Wilson was feeling proud and Jas Reed was displaying his deep affections, Master Jackson was busily working in the kitchen.
The apprentices beside him were watching every move of Master Jackson intently, knowing it to be a rare learning opportunity.
Master Jackson turned around and, seeing the apprentices’ reactions, couldn’t help but mockingly chide, "Rascals, you are quite serious."
The apprentice scratched his head and laughed, "Opportunities like this are rare."
Upon hearing that, Master Jackson slightly tilted his head up to look at the ceiling, as if trying to see through it to the ninth floor, and sighed, "Yes, opportunities like this are rare indeed."
