The reporters rushing to the eighth floor in shock had no idea that the phone in Julian Campbell’s hand nearly fell to the ground upon entering the banquet hall.
He, the engagent party of his little uncle...why...are these...people...here...
He only rembers seeing so of them on TV, and those few hold important positions, so... did he co to the wrong place?
Julian Campbell’s instinctive first reaction was just this, and then, suddenly, he saw his grandparents in the main seat, chatting happily with others at the table.
He was just about to press the phone button when his finger slowly withdrew, Julian swallowed hard...it seed like he wasn’t in the wrong place, but...
"Why are you just standing there dumbfounded?" A cold voice sounded at his side, startling Julian so much he nearly jumped, "Uncle Charles!"
Julian’s big reaction caused Charles Seymour to frown slightly, what kind of wrong dicine did this kid take again?
"Well, I...I’ve finished the task you asked to do," Julian stamred, the first thing that ca to his mind was to report back to Charles Seymour.
"Hmm." Charles nodded and said, "Then go sit down, the elder uncle and his family are on their way, they’ll be here soon."
"I spoke with my parents on the phone while I was in the parking lot, they’ll be here in about ten minutes," Julian nodded and said, but suddenly realized that wasn’t what he truly wanted to say.
"Uncle Charles..." Julian suddenly leaned toward Charles Seymour, almost sticking to him.
This was just Julian, if it were anyone else, Charles Seymour would have kicked them out long ago.
"So, Uncle Charles, do you know all these people?" Julian’s curiosity was like a volcano erupting, completely overwhelming all other matters, for instance, the disdain in his uncle’s eyes, he could pretend not to see.
"Sort of." Charles Seymour’s ambiguous response made Julian even more bewildered, do they really know each other or not?
Then, Julian saw his uncle walking towards the main table, at the sa ti, those big shots that made him nervous when he rely saw them were speaking with his uncle, and seed quite familiar.
His uncle’s facial coldness did not change at all due to the other party’s status... the key was, those people didn’t mind at all, even teasing him a couple of tis with a smile, you could tell from their interaction that their relationship was... extrely good!
Julian shivered, chills running from his tailbone to the top of his head, even his scalp tingled.
At this mont, Charles Seymour had already walked to Old Mr. Seymour and Old Mrs. Seymour’s side, whispered a couple of things to them, and then left.
Old Mrs. Seymour, after hearing Charles Seymour’s words, looked up and beckoned to Julian, signaling him to co over.
Julian quickly walked over, staring straight ahead pretending he was accustod to such grand occasions.
But... damn, how do I deal with this nervousness?
When he finally seated himself at the table, introduced by Old Mr. Seymour, Julian greeted everyone one by one.
Without addressing them by their titles, he used terms of seniority to greet, all at the request of those individuals themselves.
Their... relationship with his uncle... seems, probably, maybe, definitely... not your average closeness.
Julian finally finished greeting with a smile, then leaned in towards Old Mrs. Seymour, asking quietly: "Madam, what exactly is their relationship with Uncle Charles?"
Old Mrs. Seymour replied with a smile: "Friends."
