The last sentence made Sophie Wilson’s nose tingle, and uncontrollable tears welled up in her eyes.
With him around, she surely wouldn’t die.
He could even give her his heart without hesitation; what was there to fear about him?
All her hesitation and anxiety disappeared in an instant because of his cold threat.
Sniffing and holding back the tears in her eyes, Sophie walked to the table, wearing her bunny slippers, and huffed, "You smashed my breakfast, what am I supposed to eat? You’re trying to starve to death!"
Seeing Sophie sitting at the dining table, Charles Seymour’s eyes cald down from their violent storm. He sneered coldly, "Don’t worry, you still have value now, I won’t let you starve to death."
With Charles’ words, the maid imdiately placed a steaming bowl of noodles in front of Sophie.
The enticing aroma of the food made Sophie’s empty stomach growl, so fragrant.
But... with the corner of her eye, Sophie glanced at the bowl of noodles that had been smashed and cleaned up by the maid, it seed as though it had no heat at all and had already gone cold.
In an instant, Sophie had a flash of insight.
Did smashing the bowl and throwing a fit provide a reasonable excuse for her to eat hot breakfast?
Did he storm upstairs to call her because he was worried she’d miss breakfast ti?
So... what kind of awkward existence was Charles Seymour, anyway?
Reflecting on her past life, Sophie felt a bit baffled.
Was this guy in front of her the perfect example of soone whose words don’t match their honest intentions?
It felt like a thousand alpacas were galloping through Sophie’s heart.
What a sneaky guy!
Picking up her chopsticks, Sophie decided it was best to eat sothing to comfort her nerves, which had been battered since early morning.
For a while, no one spoke at the dining table, only the occasional soft sound of utensils clinking could be heard.
In this sunny morning, it was quite peaceful and cozy.
If it weren’t for Charles Seymour’s cold face, comparable to King Yan’s, this would truly be a perfect picture.
Seeing Sophie put down her chopsticks, Charles spoke without a trace of emotion, "We can discuss the debt issue between us now."
"All right," Sophie’s casualness made Charles frown, but it did not hinder what he wanted to say next, "You have two choices: one, repay the money..."
"I choose the second option," Sophie replied without hesitation, eting Charles’ puzzled gaze. She shrugged helplessly, "I definitely can’t repay it, so naturally, I must choose the second one."
"The second one?" Coldness flashed in Charles’ eyes, "What kind of trick are you playing now?"
"How am I playing tricks?" Sophie felt extrely wronged; she was cooperating and yet he was still being aggressive.
This person was really hard to please.
"Since you chose the second option, why did you run before?" Charles asked with a frown, assuming she took him for a fool.
Uh...
Because she hadn’t been reborn at that ti.
Of course, this answer was sothing Sophie wouldn’t admit to even if she went crazy.
"You weren’t the one chasing for the debt, of course I ran," Sophie started saying, then continued to fabricate her reasoning, "Suddenly soone jumps out saying I should beco a test subject to settle a debt, how would I know if you’re real or fake? What if you’re a scamr? Wouldn’t I be at a loss?"
"Then why are you willing now?" Charles asked in a cold tone.
"Because you’re handso," Sophie answered without hesitation, handso enough to hand over his own heart, truly one of a kind in the world.
Truly, his handsoness was to die for!
