"Ophelia, the results should be out in a few days, right?" At the breakfast table, Old Mr. Wilson uncharacteristically didn’t read the newspaper. Instead, he waited for Ophelia Wilson to sit down before asking this question.
"Yes." Ophelia was taken aback, then smiled and said, "The day after tomorrow, Jas and his team will go to the Peace Group to determine who will secure the cooperation."
"The Clark and White Families will also be going. However, this ti, Jas has a better chance than them." Ophelia said proudly.
"Hmm." Old Mr. Wilson nodded in satisfaction, "Jas has worked hard this ti. Once they sign the contract the day after tomorrow, let’s go celebrate. I’ve already booked a hotel. We can go first, and then have Jas join us later."
"Sure." Ophelia had no objections to this, "I’ll notify Uncle Seymour and the others."
"No need. I’ll notify Ethan. You’ve been busy with rehearsals lately, and you’ll be performing in a few days." Old Mr. Wilson said considerately, "Don’t get distracted."
"Alright, then I’ll leave it to you, Grandpa." Ophelia replied with a gentle smile.
How could she not know Old Mr. Wilson’s intentions? He just wanted her to reach out to the Seymour Family, to strengthen the bonds between the Wilson Clan and the Seymour Family.
But, could he ever match the bond between her and Jas?
However, Old Mr. Wilson wanted to add icing on the cake for Jas, and Ophelia certainly wouldn’t refuse.
If Jas could secure cooperation with the Peace Group, a grand celebration party should naturally be held.
After Old Mr. Wilson finished speaking with Ophelia, he started preparing, booking the hotel and sending out invitations to their partners connected to the Wilson Clan for that day.
The scale of this was quite considerable.
Even recently, Chaya Davis had gone on a shopping spree at the mall, and Ophelia’s phone received a stream of spending alerts every day, which left her alard and anxious.
Ophelia put her phone aside, using the act of sipping water to mask the bitterness in her eyes. However, these small gestures didn’t escape Albert Fletcher’s notice: "Ophelia, what’s wrong?"
"Nothing." Ophelia forced a smile and said, but facing Albert Fletcher’s clearly disbelieving expression, her eyes flickered, and she mumbled sheepishly, "Maybe I’m just a bit tired."
Albert Fletcher sighed lightly in his heart, knowing Ophelia was too kind. Since she didn’t want to say anything, he decided to ask instead: "Your phone kept ringing just now. Is there sothing going on at ho?"
"No." Ophelia quickly shook her head, but her swift movent seed to convey a desire to hide sothing.
"Ophelia?" Albert Fletcher called with concern.
"I..." Ophelia stamred for a mont, then smiled and swallowed all her helplessness and bitterness, shaking her head, "It’s nothing, Brother Fletcher, I’m off to rehearsal."
Watching Ophelia run off in her quiet endurance, Albert Fletcher frowned deeply, extending his hand toward the assistant holding Ophelia’s phone.
The assistant hurriedly handed the phone to Albert Fletcher, who swiftly looked through the spending notifications, his frown deepening.
How exactly was Chaya spending so much money?
Unaware that Albert Fletcher had already noted her extravagance, Chaya Davis entered the room, delighting in her spoils for the day.
"All you do is shop every day without attending to your duties," Old Mrs. Wilson could no longer tolerate it, feeling a block in her chest whenever she saw Chaya Davis now.
